Most underrated and overrated TV in your opinion

I'm talking about good TV not shows everyone realises are a bit cack

OVERRATED

This Is Us - everyone shits on about this like it's the most amazing new show in years

It's not as good as Brothers And Sisters was and not as good as Parenthood both similarly themed

UNDERRATED

I never hear anyone talk about Fargo ever and the second series was AMAZING I've just seen it

Never seemed to get any acclaim over here but so good and so funny.

Fargo is pretty much on every "must see" list so I wouldn't class it as underrated at all.

Underrated Glitch (but that's probably because I have only just seen it)

Yes it's on critics list but I know almost no one who watches it or talks about it

Also Braquo is severely underrated IMO

Summer Heights High is another good one, though I wouldn’t bother with Angry Boys or Ja’Mie

Ripper Street is criminally underrated. Seriously great TV in so many ways.

Babylon Berlin, perhaps not underrated but I'm not sure how many people watch(ed) it as it's on one of the streaming services. Great acting, amazing period clothes and design.

Overrated: Peaky Blinders and The Wire.

Six Feet Under--watched the entire series during an illness last year, nearly gave up yet people told me to stick it out for the "best ending of a show ever." Hated EVERY character by the end

Mission I agree, but have you seen We Can Be Heroes? It came before Summer Heights High and is just as good I think. The later series are nowhere near as good.

Nikita have you watched The Wire properly? Took me three attempts to get into it but once I did... wow.

I still massively prefer The Shield though. Each season gets better and better and it has the best final season of anything I’ve ever seen (yes, better than Breaking Bad!)

Bodyguard. Everyone raves about it and I found the acting poor and the story dull. Have also just given up on Outlander. Main actress does my head in and the accents can decide if they’re Fifer or Hebridean!

Overrated- Mrs Browns boys, Big Bang Theory and How I met your Mother (yuk!!) couldn’t sit through Breaking Bad.

Underrated- probably wouldn’t be allowed on tv now but hilarious, Summer Heights High. Star Stories. Love Soup.

Is Brookside on anywhere these days? I also loved it even though it was bonkers.

Not sure about overrated, but I think Joey (Friends spin off) and Rules of Engagement were quite underrated

I think Hard Sun was very underrated. People rave about Luther and this was a bit better. I was annoyed when the BBC said a second series wasn't going to be made.

I just found Dominic West's accent terrible and the whole thing a bit portentous.

Absolutely can’t get enough of superstore, am American comedy that they aired on Itv2

Overrated - too many to list really.
Underrated - Atypical,Bloodline,Ozark & Ripper Street was so good (my tattooist keeps trying to talk me into a Reid,Jackson,Drake tattoo!)
Oh & I really liked Whitechapel too.

Breaking Bad - I got bored
Mad Men - not half as deep and clever as it thinks it is
Big Bang Theory - lazy, sexist, sub-par
West Wing - good, but soooo smug and up itself

Underrated:

Crazy Ex Girlfriend - took me a while to get into it but it's great
Getting On - a masterpiece
Alias Grace
Killing Eve - much cleverer than the Bodyguard, which got all the attention
Sex and the city - seen as vacuous, but the tv show was clever, funny and well written

Just noticed the gender split among my lists. It's almost as if we're a male run society that prizes stories made by men about men over stories about women... Fancy that...

Number 9 - The 12 Days of Christine, just wow. Cried buckets. And the one with the '90's comedy duo in the church hall.

iZombie on Netflix. Love it in the same way I loved Buffy. Kick ass heroine, bleach blonde bad guy who is temporarily redeemed.
