Yes or no? & where in the country are you?

No. But I won't last much longer. South East

Yes has been since it started being icy, a couple of months ago. Northern Ireland.

LoniceraJaponica · 21/11/2018 20:01

Storage heaters are the pits. They are on when it's warm and don't work when it's cold. Useless invention.

ginghambox · 21/11/2018 20:01

6.5 degrees on the cars computer according to OH who has just come in.

OutragedEtc · 21/11/2018 20:02

Yes, been on for months a few weeks. Plus I've had a day off today so I've had the wood burner lit as well. I hate the cold.

xRoyalty · 21/11/2018 20:02

Yes its absolutely freezing especially at night

WhyDidIEatThat · 21/11/2018 20:02

I usually have open fires but have gone off them after dragging a vulnerable neighbour (who’d had a mishap lighting a fire) out of their burning house recently 😯 I’d never been in a house fire before, it really shocked me - how thick the smoke was and how quickly things caught fire

Wallywobbles · 21/11/2018 20:02

Yes. Since about 2 weeks ago. Light fire in the evening otherwise it's just the aga doing its thing.

WhyDidIEatThat · 21/11/2018 20:03

House is probably not much colder but seems it, psychologically, without the open fires

KatherinaMinola · 21/11/2018 20:03

God yes! For nearly a month now. Well done to those who are coping without though.

museumum · 21/11/2018 20:05

Oh my god yes!!
Scotland
It was below zero here overnight.

BarbedBloom · 21/11/2018 20:06

Yes, has been 2 degrees here today and we have two kittens

RB68 · 21/11/2018 20:06

2 degrees here in warwickshire - so yes its on and the log burner on as well

I do try and keep it down but work from home and can be perishing

beachcomber243 · 21/11/2018 20:06

I don't have central heating. But I have a wood burning stove which is lit at night and belts enough heat out to warm the whole place. I love it.

Bagadverts · 21/11/2018 20:07

Yes - northeast England. I have had heating "on" set at 19. I live in a flat and don't need that much heating, it just doesn't come on.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 21/11/2018 20:08

We have our thermostat set to 19/20 and heating on from 7am to 10pm all year round. It comes on when it comes on. It's definitely on at the moment.

12christmassausages · 21/11/2018 20:09

Ours is on constantly and set to 22C

MiniMum97 · 21/11/2018 20:11

Yes I've had it on for weeks. It's fucking freezing!

ifoundthebread · 21/11/2018 20:13

I have my thermostat at 13.5. Its in the hallway near the front door so needs to be low other wise it would never flick off, comes on a couple of times a day for 20 minutes here and there.

Nacreous · 21/11/2018 20:16

Mine is on a thermostat to pull the house up to 18 in the day, 14 at night (but that realistically means it doesn't come on at night). It was coming on irregularly through September, pretty regularly in October and is on every day now it's November.

theboxofdelights · 21/11/2018 20:31

It is currently 1 degree outside here, feels like minus 4 according to the met office.

I have turned the thermostat up to 21, must either get it swapped for a smart one or keep remembering to turn it down when I go to bed.

Neptunesgiraffe · 21/11/2018 20:41

I wasn't working today and I was at home and had to put the heating on during the day (which I hate doing) as it's just so flippin cold. 2 degrees where I am.
We've had the heating on for an hour in the morning and a bit longer at night for about six weeks.

bimbobaggins · 21/11/2018 20:42

Mines been on on and off since September

Boatsnack3 · 21/11/2018 20:45

Mine is on a thermostat of 18°c between 06.30 and 22.00 then 10°c overnight. It's been on pretty much daily for weeks and I usually boost it up to 20°c if I'm feeling especially cold. Near Edinburgh.

SinglePringle · 21/11/2018 20:53

Nope, not yet in North London and it won’t ever be on overnight - I hate sleeping in a heated room.

3out · 21/11/2018 21:00

Ours is always on, if it’s below 21deg inside, but it’s on a timer. An hour in the morning and three hours late afternoon
