Mine is things aren't always as they seem behind closed doors.
Basically I try never to be jealous of people because you can never tell what people's lives are really like. There is always a skeleton...

thighofrelief · 13/11/2018 02:22

It's better to be kind than to be right.

Mum2OneTeen · 13/11/2018 05:06

Trust no-one

Alilwolf · 13/11/2018 05:14

Love many, trust few but always paddle your own canoe. (Grandmother)

The Past is in your behind - from The Lion King

Don't dwell. (My own)

Don't fuck it up Alilwolf (I say this to myself several times a day as I've a reactive explosive personality)

It could all be for luck (My Dad's favourite pearl of wisdom when shit goes wrong for me)

What's for you won't pass you (Again, thanks Dad, the great philosopher that you are - can you tell I DO fuck it up quite often??)

LadyOfTheCanyon · 13/11/2018 05:29

Measure Twice: Cut Once.

EastMidsGPs · 13/11/2018 07:55

It is cool to be kind.

Verveine · 13/11/2018 08:06

Do as you would be done by

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 13/11/2018 08:18

Don't be a dick,
Take no shit,
If a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing properly.

Moominfan · 13/11/2018 08:25

When your dead none of it will matter and soon be forgotten so live for myself not others opinions

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/11/2018 08:26

Everything will be alright in the end, and it’s not alright it’s not the end

Fluffyears · 13/11/2018 08:57

Never write down anything you wouldn’t want someone else to read. Have a colleague who often send me e-nails slagging off others (probably slags me to others). O’m Very careful to not respond in any way that could land me in trouble.

Always have your own back first.

Check, double check the check again. Usually at work i’ll Leave something i’ve Completed then check later as it seems easier to spot an error if you have taken a step back.

missmouse101 · 13/11/2018 09:01

You don't know 'til you give it a go.

roley · 13/11/2018 09:03

Your mind is a garden
Your thoughts are the seeds
You can grow flowers
Or you can grow weeds

Love this but no idea who to credit it to

LittleKitty1985 · 13/11/2018 09:11

The lyrics to Baz Luhrmann's "Sunscreen" are basically my bible

Purplehammer · 13/11/2018 09:41

Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.

Don’t do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
They may have entirely different tastes.

EastMidsGPs · 13/11/2018 11:51

Surround yourself with people who are radiators and avoid those who are drains - find this very apt in office environments.

And more of a statement of intent rather than a motto:
"Well behaved women seldom make history"

Clawdy · 13/11/2018 12:21

"Tis but for a night, O muleteer..." not sure where it came from, but I say it every time I have a difficult time looming.

Ciderandskatesdontmix · 13/11/2018 12:47

You can't change the hand you are dealt, only the way the way you play it.

coffeeagogo · 13/11/2018 12:48

Do it all, do it badly

Vitalogy · 13/11/2018 12:56

That's a good one Ciderandskatesdontmix

RatRolyPoly · 13/11/2018 13:01

I'm pleased to see that kindness is alive and well on this thread Smile

Stompythedinosaur · 13/11/2018 13:04

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to your courage.

Fivefootoffun · 13/11/2018 13:06

You deserve what you tolerate.

RunSweatLaughAndLatte · 13/11/2018 13:09

Never sleep on an argument and try to let it go as you don't know what tomorrow will bring. On a similar note, there's a phrase I read which rings true about the importance of letting go when someone has hurt you: Anger is an acid which does more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything which it is poured.

mamakoukla · 13/11/2018 13:16

Keep happy in your heart
