Would you judge this family ?

Large family. Mum with ASD
Kids all happy and polite, well looked after.
Lots of support needed though. Cleaner, gardener and support with children
Father works full time

Would you think everything’s ok orwould you assume that even though it all seems ok there must be an issue somewhere and think that the high level of help needed is a concern ?

Sorry, what are we meant to be judging. Someone with asd needs extra support, not exactly breaking news.

Justmuddlingalong · 12/11/2018 18:04

If i wasn't close enough to know for definite wether there was cause for concern, I would not judge or stick my nose in. No.

Stpancras · 12/11/2018 18:06

I have all that support and am NT. It’s nice. What and why exactly are you judging?

dontalltalkatonce · 12/11/2018 18:06

Why would there be a reason to judge them?

Mahoganie · 12/11/2018 18:06

The high level of ‘help with household management ‘

If I didn’t know about the asd i would just think fairly wealthy family with lots of the usual home help (does mum work?). I might have a little snidey thought to myself about being a SAHM and having lots of childcare help but I am not very nice and best ignored.

If I knew about the asd I would think oh, that’s why she has all the childcare help, and think no more of it.

Cleaner/gardener I wouldn’t even notice.

BollocksToBrexit · 12/11/2018 18:07

I don't see what there is for anyone to judge either. Although I am wondering if this is about me. Grin

WipsGlitter · 12/11/2018 18:08

Loads of people have a cleaner and gardener! Plus nannies and au-pairs.

Mahoganie · 12/11/2018 18:09

Sorry I haven’t been clear, I don’t think.
Would you judge a family like this ?

SnuggyBuggy · 12/11/2018 18:09

I'd judge more on how the kids seemed. If they have the money and the help makes their lives easier I don't see what's wrong.

WipsGlitter · 12/11/2018 18:09

No. I would not judge. As I've said lots of people get lots of help.

Is it you? Do you feel judged?

SoyDora · 12/11/2018 18:10

I know plenty of people who have the same household support without any ASD/disabilities/additional needs. Why would anyone judge?

PattiStanger · 12/11/2018 18:10

How would someone know these things to be in a position to make a judegment?

Mahoganie · 12/11/2018 18:10

It’s not a problem though is it because it’s just help where it’s needed?

It has been written down that the level of help needed with household management and daily childcare is too much
This is my family it’s avoit

I might think lucky bitch and that she’s possibly a bit lazy/ pampered if I knew nothing else.

Karwomannghia · 12/11/2018 18:11

No maybe just envious!

PotteringAlong · 12/11/2018 18:11

Judge a family like what? I have childcare, I’d love a cleaner. Most of my friends have childcare and a cleaner.

whatsthestory123 · 12/11/2018 18:11

ignorant post alert,sorry

why would the family need so much help, cleaner, gardener etc?

SpecialLittlePrince · 12/11/2018 18:11

Can you give us an idea of what judgement you're worried about?

FlibbertyGiblets · 12/11/2018 18:11

Who is writing that?

Getonthatbroomandfly · 12/11/2018 18:11

Judge them for what? They seem to be coping with their situation very well.

Is this your family op? If it is, I wouldn't judge at all. In fact I admire this family going by what I've read.

SnuggyBuggy · 12/11/2018 18:11

Are the children getting their emotional needs met?

BollocksToBrexit · 12/11/2018 18:11

Written down by who?

Justmuddlingalong · 12/11/2018 18:12

Who wrote that? Professionals or Facebook shit stirrers?
