The best nightclub...

Off the back of the other thread... what's the best nightclub you've ever been to?

(Disclaimer - my clubbing days were late 90s. Memories may be distorted by time. 😉)

Turnmills in Farringdon - Heavenly jukebox/heavenly social nights.

The Cross in king's cross. Three floors if I remember rightly catering for different tastes.

There are others but these are the main two I went to.

Also, my student union mid-week night at The Rocket - The Big Fish. Cheap drinks, epic dancing. 😁😁😁

Sparkling yy to snobs and its sticky floors! We used to go to Edwards, after the flapper and firkin, then on to snobs. Later we’d go to the Que club, (atomic jam and flashback) - happy days.

I think I was following you around. Grin

I also used to go to The Pen and Wig and Pot of Beer when I was a bit younger.

Boy do I miss Snobs Sad. You had to look like you were a bit bored the whole time but really it was ace! I remember pulling a high profile band member once on tour Grin

fairlyhumble · 03/11/2018 18:41

I went out with him for a year!!

Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2018 18:43

Give us a clue fairly! Noddy Holder from Slade? Grin

The Hummingbird and the Foundry in Birmingham.

onemouseplace · 03/11/2018 18:51

@alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 I loved Escape from Samsara and Return to the Source at The Fridge - we used to travel in from uni to go, and then I ended up moving fairly close post-uni. Then the Fridge Bar/ 414 for the afterparty.

I ended up seeing a guy into his DnB in the early 00s and have many fond memories of The End and Fabric.

stressedtiredbuthappy · 03/11/2018 19:04

ClenchQueen · 03/11/2018 20:02

Waving at fellow Bagleys folk! I loved that place - still remember my first night there - so much going on, like a clubbing theme park. I didn't go clubbing every weekend so wasn't really "scene" but dabbled. Great place. Also Turnmills, Mass in Brixton (top NYE there). Good times.

Racheyg · 03/11/2018 20:05

Did anyone go to home in London before it closed ? I was too young but heard great things

flossietoot · 03/11/2018 20:11

Late 90s/ early 00s- The Coach in Banbridge with all school pals who sneaked job underage- they weren’t exactly good at checking ID, then Kelly’s in Portrush, Shine in Belfast, and M Club for more cheesy nights.

MulticolourMophead · 03/11/2018 20:28

Rock City for me, haven't been for years.

nowifi · 03/11/2018 20:52

The Cross was great, I remember a bouncer forcing my hand open when I was giving a mate some change for a drink as he thought it was drugs! Also Turnmills! Had many a good night at Underworld Camden and The Boston Arms in Tufnell Park although the toilets were vile!

Think I'd get ptsd if I went to a club now it has been that long!

ENormaSnob · 03/11/2018 21:03

Had some fab times at atlantis in bolton.

And the temple in bolton where there was a mini swimming pool Confused

IThinkImGoingSlightlyMad · 03/11/2018 21:43

Love that a few people have said ‘Rock City’ in Nottingham. Spent many nights there.

Benjaminbuttonschild · 03/11/2018 21:47

When I was younger - Aqualenium and The Warehouse in Preston.

Anyone from Preston also remember the Manx Man ship that they turned into a floating club on Preston Dock in the 80s? That was before my time but loads of people loved it

CalmConfident · 03/11/2018 21:50

Another nostalgic Nottingham vote for Rock City, plus an honourable mention for The Irish

Loveglee · 03/11/2018 21:52

Collide-a-scope, the indie night at Kings college in London. Amazing Britpop music and watered down beer in the 90s.

ANiceLentilHotpot · 03/11/2018 21:57

I'd forgotten about Collide-a-scope, great place.

@DuggeesWooOOooggle i loved Spiders too. Pangalactic gargleblaster is the main drink i remember.
