The best nightclub...

Off the back of the other thread... what's the best nightclub you've ever been to?

(Disclaimer - my clubbing days were late 90s. Memories may be distorted by time. 😉)

Turnmills in Farringdon - Heavenly jukebox/heavenly social nights.

The Cross in king's cross. Three floors if I remember rightly catering for different tastes.

There are others but these are the main two I went to.

Also, my student union mid-week night at The Rocket - The Big Fish. Cheap drinks, epic dancing. 😁😁😁

Snobs In Birmingham - met my husband there.

Crinkle77 · 03/11/2018 17:31

I loved the 051 in Liverpool. My sister took me for my 16th birthday (I think) so that would have been 1993. I was desperate to go to the State but think it might have closed before I got old enough to go.

OutComeTheWolves · 03/11/2018 17:34

Carpet I was thinking that - it was the biggest party on the planet after all.

Sparkling yy to snobs and its sticky floors! We used to go to Edwards, after the flapper and firkin, then on to snobs. Later we’d go to the Que club, (atomic jam and flashback) - happy days.

Hezz · 03/11/2018 17:45

Labyrinth - total shithole with sweat dripping off the ceiling but my god they were the days

The Astoria was ok too but a bit more nightclubby.

Nothing beat raving in the middle of a field though

wineoclockthanks · 03/11/2018 17:45

The Sea Anglers in Plymouth in the mid-'80s. Great music.

chapthedoor · 03/11/2018 17:49

I loved Baha Beach Club ! The first time I went I snogged three boys ! Loved the dancers who came out dressed up as Lulu etc and the bottle bars scattered around. Also the fake shark dangling from the ceiling ! Memories

My favourite Foundation in Newcastle. Good house/dance musical the weekend with big name DJs and I loved the indie night on Thursdays. My absolute favourite

Bobbybobbins · 03/11/2018 17:51

The Attic/Loft in Manchester near Oxford Road station (can't remember name 😂) for Northern soul nights.

The indie club in Sheffield? Can't remember the name either...

Sparklingbrook · 03/11/2018 17:54

The Arches in Glasgow
The sub club in Glasgow
The vaults in Edinburgh

Womb in Tokyo- so many amazing djs and crazy nights
Harlem in Tokyo- amazing hip hop with dance crews going for it
Ageha in Tokyo- it had an outside pool to swim in... so decadent.

Rockshots in Newcastle for student night on a Tuesday.

Champagnes in Bradford when my mates were DJ-ing.

Duggee - I was once sick down the gangplank of The Boat. I blame the revolving dance floor

hardheadedwoman · 03/11/2018 18:18

Hamilton’s in Stockport late 80s!
Another bite for The Limit in Sheffield - used to visit my sister at uni there - thought it was so cool
Then Camden Palace, Turnmills and The Carwash a few years later

I’m old Smile

hardheadedwoman · 03/11/2018 18:18

Vote not bite. Although I’m sure plenty of biting when on at The Limit

PuppyMonkey · 03/11/2018 18:25

In my day (mid 80s-early 90s), it was:

The Hacienda in Manchester
Leadmill in Sheffield
The State in Liverpool
The Garage, Pieces or Rock City in Nottingham

TillyVonMilly · 03/11/2018 18:28

Those of us over a certain age, would have donned our stilettos and danced the night away at Casanovas in Wakefield, ultraviolet lights, tables with phones and the number on a tall post, meant someone who fancied you could callwithout having your mates taking the piss out of them Grin

JuneMyNameIsJune · 03/11/2018 18:34

The Wag Club in Soho. Hands down the best club in the 80's. My best friend knew the bouncers and door staff and we would walk straight to the front of the queue. I met my DH there and he used to run warehouse parties and ticket at The Spice of Life. Good times Grin

JuneMyNameIsJune · 03/11/2018 18:37

Ooh - forgot Heaven! Such a great club and I'd just dance all night.

LostontheWestway · 03/11/2018 18:39
