My DD (9) has just asked if she can be a supervillain when she grows up. Should I be worried?

So now I'm collecting! What do/did your kids want to be? Go on, make us laugh!

She wants to be an astronaut/doctor/builder. Go to space, heal people in the spaceship if they need it and then build new stuff on a new planet. She's 6.

selfidentifyinggiraffe · 25/10/2018 21:51

One is too busy deciding which of two girls he should marry to make any serious career ambitions (he may marry both to be fairest but isn't rushing that decision)

So he says he'll just win the lottery so he can buy homes for poor people (homeless)

He's 6

PrincessHairyMclary · 25/10/2018 21:58

9 year old DD wants to be in Mountain Rescue...we live in Norfolk and she's never seen a mountain Grin

CuppaSarah · 25/10/2018 21:59

My two year old is going to be either a dinosaur or a dinosaur ranger. He's a very good T-Rex, so hoping he follow that line of work over dinosaur ranger.

The five year old is going to be a fashion mummy(Egyptian not a parent). She's got a very unique sense of style so I have no doubt she will make a wonderful fashion mummy.

HippoLatte · 25/10/2018 22:01

4yo DD was with me in a cafe at the weekend and looks around and says she wants to work there when she's older because they have the best sausages and she can eat as many as she wants when she's working there.

She also says she wants to be a Mummy but can I watch the kids for her when she has appointments etc?

Eminybob · 25/10/2018 22:03

Ds wants to be a train driver, based purely on his love to Thomas the tank engine. And a daddy. He’s 4

prettyisoverrated · 25/10/2018 22:04

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 25/10/2018 22:12

My 3yo ds wants to be a fi’man, a train driver, a bus driver and an aeroplane driver and they will all be old fashioned vehicles.

And he wants to be a girl. So when he’s doing all this driving, he will be a big, big, big girl.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/10/2018 22:43

DS (15) informed me that his career ambition is "teenager" . It used to be "cat". So it does not neccessarily become more realistic.

emeraldislegirl · 25/10/2018 23:13

I taught a 10 year old girl many years ago who asserted I want to be solicitor (she actually said do soliciting)............ or work in Macdonalds.

schooltripsfromhell · 25/10/2018 23:18

I remember when I was younger I wanted to fly with my brolly like Mary Poppins.
So I tried it. I did fly, straight into the ground.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 25/10/2018 23:30

Ds13 has no ideas.
Dd11 is joining the police.
Ds6 is marrying his girlfriend (she’s said yes!), being a part time police man, part time farmer and building me a house on the farm.
Ds5 is going to be a motorbike rider, and will need to borrow my house so he and his girlfriend can have my room as he needs his for their toys. Oh, and I’m looking after the kids.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 25/10/2018 23:31

Oh, and dd11 is living next door to me so she can see me before and after work.

hmmwhatatodo · 25/10/2018 23:32

One of mine aged around 7 wanted to drive a heavy goods vehicle but it had to specifically be one that delivered fruit in many countries. I have no idea where that came from but that ambition lasted a good year, preceded by being a bin lorry driver. Now it’s all about money and anything less than £60000 starting salary won’t be good enough (we aren’t at GCSEs yet so we have time to work on that totally achievable goal Hmm).
