My DD (9) has just asked if she can be a supervillain when she grows up. Should I be worried?

So now I'm collecting! What do/did your kids want to be? Go on, make us laugh!

OP posts:

Ds aged 4 wants to be 'a big brother'.
When I point out he is already a big brother to dc3 he says 'yea not to him though, he's annoying, I want to be a different big brother'.
Not sure if I should be concerned

VinoEsmeralda · 27/10/2018 21:17

DS wanted to be a chef on a pirate ship and only cook fish fingers, chips and peas.

DD said she was going to nurse us when we get heart problems and need looking after. She will never move out....

mnahmnah · 27/10/2018 21:18

DS (6) says he wants to have a banana stall. No other fruit or veg. Just bananas. He doesn’t even eat them!

thenightsky · 27/10/2018 21:42

DD wanted to be a clothes designer. she is now 30 and works as a garment technologist for a fancy dress company. Currently working in China.

DS wanted to be a manager of Toys R Us. Now is a part time website designer and karate/martial arts instructor.

Ediemcready · 27/10/2018 22:36

When my DD was about 3 she said she wanted to be a mummy when she grew up. I said “Awh, just like me?” She said “no, a mummy wrapped in bandages”. She’s now 5 and wants to be a nail designer!

MsTSwift · 27/10/2018 22:39

Dh apparently aged 5 announced he was going to be a waiter in his own pizza restaurant. Sadly he’s now a corporate solicitor so never happened.

Vanillaradio · 27/10/2018 23:31

4 year old ds is either going to "drive aeroplanes", be a teacher or a pirate. A nice pirate though, who only looks for treasure and doesn't do naughty things.... And apparently he's not going to move out.......ever!

Justwanttotravel · 27/10/2018 23:35

My brother wanted to be a radiator when he ‘grew up.’ Funnily enough he is a plumber and heating engineer 😃

Mafrid2 · 27/10/2018 23:49

Derekmorganwasinmybed my ds wanted to be yellow 😂. Then an egyptologist. Then an archeologist, hes 25 now and works in the ceramics industry.... That's as close to digging up pottery as he got 🤣

Mafrid2 · 27/10/2018 23:51

Ds2 wanted to be a pizza delivery driver as he loved pizza! (And still does...love pizza that is!)He's 24 now 😂

mrsnolasco · 27/10/2018 23:52

DD (6) wants to be a postdog. Not a post woman, a post dog.
When the postman comes if she’s home, she crawls into the passage, picks up the post in her mouth and brings it in the living room and woofs.
I worry about her a little bit...

Notfastjustfurious · 27/10/2018 23:56

Dd4 said she wanted to be a fire engine, I said 'don't you mean fire fighter?' Nope it was definitely the truck. Told her she couldn't actually be a thing as it wasn't alive so she decided she would be a dinosaur instead. I gave up there.
Dd6 is going to be a police officer and a surgeon and a rock star at weekends. Apparently she needs the money hence the 3 jobs. Confused

deadgirlinbed4 · 28/10/2018 01:07

mrsnolasco I really would not worry- I wanted to be a pony at that age. I can happily confirm that I do no tlive in a stable or eat hay. Nor do I have a tail. It will be fine. Don't worry.

Slappinthebass · 28/10/2018 01:53

My 5 year old wants to be a doctor who is also a part time nursery teacher, and a pilot on the side. She's been pretty dedicated to this plan for over a year now and tells us often. Unfortunately she doesn't show any dedication to school work in any form so I think her master plan is a pipe dream .

Slappinthebass · 28/10/2018 01:55

@Notfastjustfurious I wanted to be a fire engine when I was little! I remember having the exact same conversation with my father and brother telling me I couldn't and me not really believing them.

Slappinthebass · 28/10/2018 01:56

I've just remembered, dd1 used to want to be a beggar . Stark contrast in ambition my daughters.

Rebecca36 · 28/10/2018 01:58

My son wanted to be a businessman and a musician.

UnlawfulBananaPeeler · 28/10/2018 01:52

When I was little I wanted to be a princess or a post man.

My DD3 wants to be a ballerina princess with a dog called bolognaise and a cat called decorator and she wants to be married... to her dad.

Penisbeakerismyfavethread · 28/10/2018 02:37

My sister wanted to work in an Indian sweatshop and then wanted to be a hitman.
She had form for sneaking downstairs and watching inappropriate documentaries in the snug without anyone noticing...

My friends DS (3) wants to be a telephone

And my personal favourite a four year old I taught once said she wanted to be me when she grew up. I cried in my cupboard

Indie1984 · 28/10/2018 05:44

I'm not really sure how this works, but I'm trying to speak to women that have infertility problems.it would be so nice to have a friend who understands what I'm going through x

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 28/10/2018 07:45

Ds wanted to be an axe but has now changed it to a more realistic rockstar....

haba · 28/10/2018 09:10

"And my personal favourite a four year old I taught once said she wanted to be me when she grew up. I cried in my cupboard"

My 3 year old tells me she wants to be me. I always ask her, "we'll if your me who will I be then?" and she says "You'll be me!"

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 28/10/2018 10:38

Ds age 7 wants to be an astronaut, police man, fireman, spaceship rider and footballer. Ds age 6 (yesterday) with sen wants to be a hero. Dd aged 16 wants to be a ships engineer- I quite like the idea of being a cat, they sleep loads!

Maturityisoptional · 28/10/2018 11:37

My 2 year old dd told me she wants to be a “fire lady”. I said, keenly, “oooh lovely, a fire lady like Fireman Sam who puts out all the fires?” “No” she said, “mummy a fire lady that makes all the fires” Hmm At least my 3 yr old other dd just wants to be a dinosaur
