My DD (9) has just asked if she can be a supervillain when she grows up. Should I be worried?

So now I'm collecting! What do/did your kids want to be? Go on, make us laugh!

Ds currently wants to race tractors and deliver babies in his spare time (tractors because they are bigger and therefore better than racing cars). Before that he wanted to dig up dinosaurs.

AirandMungBeans · 25/10/2018 23:39

6 year old DS wants to be a bus driver/hairdresser/scientist. All at the same time apparently.

4 year old DS wants to be a dinosaur experimenter (he means explorer!).

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 25/10/2018 23:43

Just remembered- ds13, aged 5, wanted to live in a cave and hunt mountain lions.

smurfy2015 · 25/10/2018 23:46

When I was 5 I wanted to be ... a drug addict. I wanted to stick needles in myself and get AIDs.

That was the very early 80s. The teacher let my mum know and they both had a good laugh,

No, I didn't follow my "dream"

Alittlebitofthis · 25/10/2018 23:46

My 6yo ds has wanted to be a pilot.
After watching captain underpants however, he's decided he wants to be a mean principal.

xoguineas · 25/10/2018 23:48

I wanted to be a princess when I was younger. My little sister wanted to be a bank robber when she was aged 3-6

DemonDiva · 25/10/2018 23:52

My DNephew (6) is currently torn between being a policeman, a builder, or “the man who clears up rubbish on the Moon”...

hiyahen · 26/10/2018 00:08

My 3 year old was going around our local soft play with the hook from a Captain Hook costume the other day, telling anyone who would listen that he was a hooker 😂😂

MrsScrubbingbrush · 26/10/2018 00:18

When I was younger I told my mum that I wanted to sell duffle coats in a shoe shop 🤷🏻‍♀️never did achieve that ambition

yellowplumpreserves · 26/10/2018 00:19

For a while my five year old daughter wanted to be Batman!

suckmasterburstingfoam · 26/10/2018 06:52

When I was about 3 I wanted to be a stripper. I would do my stripping outside Waitrose so all the mummies would see me when they came out with their shopping and would give me 20p.

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 26/10/2018 06:57

My 10yo DD wants to open a restaurant named “Katie’s royal restaurant”, complete with thrones to sit on. She wants to employ all the family. She also wants to be a hairdresser and a singer at the weekends.

Minniemountain · 26/10/2018 06:59

DS and his best friend have their life together planned out.
-he will be an engineer, she will be an artist.
-they will have 2 DDs called Heather and Fija.
-friend will keep her surname.
-we have a sticking point on where they will live. Friend says her parents' annex, DS says our house.
They are 4.

TroysMammy · 26/10/2018 07:03

My exh said when he was a child he wanted to be a vicar because they only worked Sundays and Saturdays in the summer (weddings).

At the age of 50 he's a lazy sod and has never held down a job for more than a few months at a time.

Sweetiedarlingletmein · 26/10/2018 07:03

I desperately wanted to be a tooth fairy when I was little.

Derekmorganwasinmybed · 26/10/2018 07:11

When my dd was 3 she wanted to be red

haba · 26/10/2018 07:18

One wants to be a marine biologist and a bus driver.
At the same time.

The other wants to be a "genius Inventor" apparently!

GoldenRuby · 26/10/2018 07:18

My DS wanted to be an under-water dentist. I have no idea where he dreamt that up, but now he is 17 and applying for Uni we have a bit of fun asking him if he has found any appropriate courses yet,

sashh · 26/10/2018 07:21

My6 year old brother confidently and proudly told a visitor when he grew up he wanted to be 'an IRA sniper'.

It was the 1970's, we were the only RCs on the street. We were banned from watching the news after that.

At 16 I wanted to go to art college and Computer Science A Level part time because I wanted to work in 'computer graphics' and would need an art degree.

I didn't get to do it because it was a 'stupid idea', this was the mid 1980s. I occasionally wonder what would or could have happened.

TheSteakBakeOfAwesome · 26/10/2018 07:23

DD1 announced that "when you and daddy are old and dead I'm going to drink coffee all day"

So basically she's going to be found propping up the counter of the local Costa after possibly having bumped me and her father off to not thwart her caffeine related ambitions.

BellMcEnd · 26/10/2018 07:30

DS3 wants to be a bin lorry man.
My friend’s son wants to be an elf Grin

RoxytheRexy · 26/10/2018 07:44

My 3 year old DD wants to be a Dinosaur Dentist. Highly skilled but fairly niche

yakari · 26/10/2018 07:47

DS is going to be a gazillonaire, which is nice

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 26/10/2018 07:53

My DS is too little for me to have anything to add. But my sister when she was about 3 wanted to be an ambulance. Not a paramedic or an ambulance driver, just an ambulance.

knowledgeofnone · 26/10/2018 07:55

The two of them are going to own a caravan park in Blackpool and live in one of the caravans and then when the youngest decides to get married she is going to move out and oldests friend is moving in to help run the park. The most hilarious thing about this is that the friends family are mega rich and I'm pretty sure would never ever go to a caravan park. Either way I'm just looking forward to a free holiday.
