Eugenie's Wedding Dress Thread - a small thread for the tiny minority of us who are interested.

Can this please be a pleasant thread? If you don't give a toss then please move on. I'm interested to see what sort of dress she wears. I'd love to see her in something that really reflects her character & I'm hoping for something with a bit of detail & not too plain.

Love the evening dress she looks so happy , l think the RF have a hidden gem in Eugenie tbh , perhaps Charles should involve her in the fold more.
I suppose l feel with young Lady Louise (because her mum is always extremely well turned out) she would take her DD clothes and appearance under her wing sts but LL (being a teenager) will probably have a will of her own Xmas Grin.
l do agree with Misslingoss LL has looked absolutely gorgeous while out carriage driving though and think she suits that sort of style (equestrian & country pursuits) very much.

itswinetime · 14/10/2018 09:47

I'm not sure eugine wants to be any more in the front line she has her careersgter all. It seems to me she has the better mix, all of the benefits of being a princess, a job that she enjoys (so all the press say) and can dip in and out of royal engagements without being criticised, which seems to be a common insult thrown at the Wales boys these days! That's the route I would go anyway!

QueenDoria · 14/10/2018 09:57

Whilst we are championing the Yorks, I have heard lovely stories about Fergie very involved in a local family with a severely disabled daughter. Arranges delivery of special beds etc and phoned up for supportive chats. So, discretely helping, not just ribbon chatting charity...

I like Fergie , l think she has been an idiot in the past but she has such joy de vivre and is so enthusiastic and pleased to see ppl, or so it seems. I can well believe she has been very kind to others .

CupMug · 14/10/2018 13:52

I thought he wedding dress was very pretty but I found a lot of the clothes worn by other women - Megan, Kate etc were very grumpy and old looking. The high heels, hats and clutches are for grannies. High heels look weird on people with very skinny legs.

It's like they shop at Windsmoor 😭

The men dress really boringly too. Morning suits look ridiculously old fashioned.

CupMug · 14/10/2018 13:52

Frumpy*

SheStoopsToConker · 14/10/2018 13:58

In Kate and Meghan's cases they probably dressed as they did so they wouldn't take attention from the bride. They are both pretty well turned out the rest of the time.

As for the rest, posh people seem to have terrible taste. Look at any wedding in Tatler - the guests wear the most hideous clothes!

beanaseireann · 14/10/2018 14:07

I applaud Meghan and Kate- neither stole Eugenie's thunder.
Though some thought Cara D tried, turning up as a bridegroom Smile

SheStoopsToConker · 14/10/2018 14:12

A Tatler profile on Jack. "Chose not to go to uni" is probably being creative with the truth...

Oddcat · 14/10/2018 14:13

Regarding Fergie , she has befriended a young lad I know who has been through an horrific ordeal - she is genuinely kind I think .

QueenOfTheAndals · 14/10/2018 14:23

She has her faults, but I think she's essentially a kind-hearted and good-natured woman. What she saw in a boor like Andrew is a mystery!

AngeloMysterioso · 14/10/2018 14:29

I thought both Cara and her sister looked utterly absurd. Cara rocks up dressed as a bloody circus magician chewing a toothpick, and the other one with that ridiculous blue feathery hat that resembled a moulin rouge cabaret headdress. They can't bear not being the centre of attention.

Redyoyo · 14/10/2018 14:47

Yeah i thought Cara D tried to steal the limelight, she is such an attention seeker, dressing as the Artful Dodger is not very weddingy!

LuluJakey1 · 14/10/2018 14:49

I think Fergie is kind-hearted. The issue with her is greed. She is greedy for money and it has been her downfall. It started after she married Andrew and all sorts of freebies came her way suddenly and she took them. She accepted things other royals don't because they are not willng to be used for endorsements - it never bothered Fergie. Her spending got out of control and she ran up millions of debt. Accepting freebies like holidays and jewellery from people like the two American men Steve Wyatt and John Bryant ended in affairs and ultimately divorce. She was reckless and lacked self-control.
She has allowed Andrew and his seedy friends to pay off her debts several times- including a pedophile and Kazakhstani arms dealers. She lives for free on Andrew even now.
I thought the video of her drunk selling access to him for £500,000 was awful. She took £40,000 cash as a downpayment and the things she said were just vulgar and money-grabbing.
I can not like her but I think he is a pompous, humourless man. However, they seem to have brought up two well-balanced, good people in their daughters.

LuluJakey1 · 14/10/2018 14:51

And for all the rumours about her getting back with Andrew, I saw nothing at Eugenie's wedding that indicated any intimacy, attraction or real affection between them. He seemed to go out of his way to maintain distance.

MaybeDoctor · 14/10/2018 16:15

They were both 26 when they got married and I think Andrew probably had a bit more of the naval-officer charm back then.

Yes, his interview remarks about ‘the other wedding’ and ‘so many friends’ are definitely a bit crass.

Sarah and Andrew were actually separated and she thought she was in private at the time of the foot-dalliance. There are other members of the royal family who have been caught out in similar ways: Prince Charles anyone?

diddl · 14/10/2018 16:19

They do to seem to care about each other still & have co parented well, but that's not necessarily enough to remarry.

Idk, when Fergie bounded out of the car yesterday & over to the public, it seemed that she just had no decorum at all!

itswinetime · 14/10/2018 16:25

Andrew is and always will be the sticking point on the York's taking a more forward role. He comes across as arrogant and slimy and is always trying to one up the other royals! He has also been involved in one too many embarrassing stories over the years I think.

Unfortunately his reputation I think was transferred onto the girls for quite a few years, hopefully this wedding will have been the start of changing that and letting the. Be known as the individuals they are!

Still don't think that will mean we see much more of them either through their choice or protocol but at least they will have a fair shot now!

As for fergie I like I never really got why she was so disliked sure she's made mistakes but let's name a royal of that generation that hasn't! She's not a royal and I don't think we will be seeing more of here in that light but hopefully she can shake the last of the negative image off so she can carry on doing what she wants!

Rosehip10 · 14/10/2018 16:41

Why does Lady Louise Windsor always dress like the queen mum? She is 14 not 84.

SoupDragon · 14/10/2018 16:45

She doesn’t.

Clionba · 14/10/2018 17:20

Poor Lady Louise! She's 14. It's possible she's not into fashion, just into carriage driving or reading or sudoku or Guides. She looks fine, please stop accusing her of dressing frumpy/like a granny, it's unkind.

Clionba · 14/10/2018 17:53

CupMug "high heels, hats and clutches are for grannies" really? Hmm
So a Givenchy or Alexander McQueen outfit, bespoke hat and 4in Prada heels are worn by grannies? Confused

SoupDragon · 14/10/2018 18:01

She is part of the royal family and tends to be pictured at events when she can't dress like a teenager anyway. It's not like she can rock up in ripped jeans and a Hype hoody

diddl · 14/10/2018 18:05

Louise dresses like the QM?

Chiffon & fluffy hats?Grin

I thought that she looked lovely-& at H&M's wedding.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 14/10/2018 18:21

Here is Lady Louise with Isla and Savannah Phillips at a horse show. She looks like a really sweet and loving person, who isn't that bothered about fashion. The royal family has enough primped and coiffed women as it is.
