Can this please be a pleasant thread? If you don't give a toss then please move on. I'm interested to see what sort of dress she wears. I'd love to see her in something that really reflects her character & I'm hoping for something with a bit of detail & not too plain.

Anyone notice Robbie Williams just walking off when his mother in law's hat blew off? No gentleman, it would appear.

DCIVivDeering · 13/10/2018 10:19

To be fair to Meghan, when you see what her family have behaved like, it's fair enough that she didn't want them at the wedding.

Rainbowqueeen · 13/10/2018 10:20

Sarah’s sister from Australia did come over, along with her own daughter step daughter and son. Possibly some others as well.

Details of their outfits are available in Australian newspapers

I agree with the Markle side, but there was no one from her Mum’s side.

Can anyone post some links to the Aussie Papers please?

Very odd ( and sad) that Doria had no close friend or relation she could bring to her daughter's wedding.

SillySallySingsSongs · 13/10/2018 11:58

They had all sorts of randoms at H&M’s wedding and nobody batted an eyelid.

Not really. There was a connection to all of them whether it be rugby players, footballers or actors. Harry is patron of England RFU and very rarely mises a match. He has worked with the Beckham's etc and Meghan had worked with the actors.

There were also those that he is close to from Invictus Games and his time in the army.

Honeyroar · 13/10/2018 12:46

Jack is the figurehead for a tequila company that was created by George Clooney - it's more than likely he knows quite a few stars through that.. if they were just inviting celebs for showing off's sake then why would they have Robbie Williams with his mother in law..

Belindabauer · 13/10/2018 12:53

I thought Cara Delevingne looked stunning.
Loved the flowers too and thought Eugenies bouquet was nicer than recent royal bouquets.

Hardly surprising of Robbie Williams though.

SenecaFalls · 13/10/2018 13:03

I think Eugenie has a dark chocolatey voice somewhat reminiscent of Joanna Lumley's mellifluous tones and she could go into voiceover work if she wanted to step outside the royal bubble.

I noticed this too. With so many young women seemingly affecting high pitched sing-songy voices these days (at least in the US), it was so pleasant to listen to her lovely tones.

Beautiful dress Smile

I didn't like Fergie's outfit very much. Not keen on that shade of green and it looked lumpy/ill fitted with an odd sheen. A deeper green would've suited her better, she's been looking good in navy recently.

Beatrice's outfit surprised me together with the lack of duties in her role. She pulled it off but I couldn't help thinking it looked very old fashioned (probably shooting for a Mad Men look, effect was headmistress-y). Not sure if a demure v-neck (to mirror Eugenie) or a pencil skirt might've helped - or a shift dress and jacket. Perhaps a slightly lighter shade of blue - less purple-y.

Looking at bridesmaids dresses with sleeves a lot of them seem to have billowing skirts which would've been a nightmare in the wind yesterday. Or they're the sleek Pippa template which would've drawn unfavourable comparisons. I'm wondering whether a heavier silk/satin (to tie in with Eug's dress) with some clever Vivienne Westwood-esque structuring could've worked better.

Leaving Louise on her own to deal with the little ones was poor. Surely they could've had another teen/adult bridesmaid - seemed like Beatrice was escorting her mother, fine - to keep her company and take the pressure off. Or failing that they had the kids' mums help them at Harry and Meghan's wedding. I saw photos of Kate and Meghan's Canadian friend herding them on the steps!

I haven't seen a proper photo of Louise's dress but it looked plain and lightweight in comparison. I'm not even sure dress weights would've helped. I don't like the awkward way her mother dresses her but on this occasion she might've looked cute in a matching outfit to Beatrice, with a pencil skirt.
I wonder if her brother was meant to help her and pulled out at the last minute. I saw him listed as an attendant. I understand he might have some difficulties, fair enough if he didn't feel up to it.

itswinetime · 13/10/2018 13:26

Her brother was an usher he walked fergie and Beatrice to their seats i think that was his role.

CheeseTheDay · 13/10/2018 13:28

I think the reason that Robbie didn't attempt to retrieve his MIL's hat, is because someone else was already doing so, as another man quickly handed it to her.

CheeseTheDay · 13/10/2018 13:29

Viscount Severn was escorting people to their seats, that was his role.

I don't understand why Beatrice was not helping with the little bridesmaids.

itswinetime · 13/10/2018 13:33

I don't understand why Beatrice was not helping with the little bridesmaids.

Her role was obviously supporting fergie so she wasn't left alone surrounded by roles not talking to her on her daughters wedding day which I get.

I think if the wind had been less Lady Louise might have managed but it was so strong they needed to adapt and change plans. The nannies were just inside the door they could of helped!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/10/2018 13:42

Oh I was mistaken about Viscount Severn!

I've looked at some more photos and Beatrice and Louise's outfits look better than I first thought - I was nitpicking really Wink

The fabric on Louise's looks thicker than I realised, the wind made it look like cotton jersey on TV Grin

Good on Eugenie for being bold with her colours and using blues and greens together with autumn reds and oranges (floral arrangements) Flowers

itswinetime · 13/10/2018 13:44

To those who didn't like fergies dress apparently she change for the evening doo according to hello anyway!

Whoops, I didn’t see the Andrew interview - was just basing my comments on how he carried himself on the day. He certainly came across as a proud and loving father.

beanaseireann · 13/10/2018 14:06

Kate Moss's evening party dress was divine.
Cream silk satin.
Her boyfriend's mother Debbie Von Bismarck had a beautiful pink evening gown for the after party.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/10/2018 14:06

Fergie should've worn that to the church, it's lovely on her.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/10/2018 14:12

itswinetime I can't decide if I like that one better or not! I think it's the colour.
Weirdly Fergie's day dress looks a different shade of green in different photos/videos. In some it's a much brighter grassy green which looks a bit better to my eye. In the video on the outside steps where Robbie's daughter is asking her if she's the Queen (!) she looks much slimmer, like a different person Confused I know the camera adds 15lb but still. Maybe her body is contorted as she turned to chat. Glad she didn't trip as she resumed, that could easily have been a nasty fall Shock

The DM "lipreader" has Fergie telling Beatrice she can't keep her stomach in any longer and Beatrice replying that she's fine as she's wearing a corset Grin

beanaseireann · 13/10/2018 14:15

Beatrice's outfit was not Maid of Honour ish.
It was more wedding guest like.
The purple on her headpiece didn't match anything on her dress or other accessories- it looked odd.
I know it had a bit of the blue from her dress, but why purple?
It was nice to accompany her mother but perhaps they needed sa bridesmaid for the little ones.
Even Kate had difficulty at Pippa's wedding keeping them all in line Smile

itswinetime · 13/10/2018 14:17

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat.
I like it as a dress but I don't think it would have been right for the church! I get what she was doing wearing the same green as the tiara but like you said it looked different colours and some suited better than others it definitely looked better as she stood up! I think she suits navy better the outfit she wore to Harry and Meghans was better I think.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/10/2018 14:20

In the video on the outside steps where Robbie's daughter is asking her if she's the Queen (!)

Did she really? That's hilarious!

Maybe Beatrice bought the dress and the headband separately, thinking they matched, put them on yesterday morning to discover they didn't, but thought "fuck it, I'm wearing them anyway"!!

beanaseireann · 13/10/2018 14:23

SmileQueenoftheAndals
I think Carole Middleton wins hands down on the Mother of the Brides' outfits for both her daughters' weddings.
