Eugenie's Wedding Dress Thread - a small thread for the tiny minority of us who are interested.

Can this please be a pleasant thread? If you don't give a toss then please move on. I'm interested to see what sort of dress she wears. I'd love to see her in something that really reflects her character & I'm hoping for something with a bit of detail & not too plain.

Fergie looked amazing in both her dresses as did Demi . Eugenie looked so serene and beautiful . I do hope they have a repeat show for Beatrice when she gets married, l love a royal wedding.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/10/2018 14:38

beanaseireann definitely although I hated the baby pink shade she wore to Pippa's wedding (ditto Kate's horrendous outfit). She's also very slim which is easier to tailor. I feel bad for Fergie in that respect as she gets a lot of flack for her body shape.

She also didn't have the option of safe pastels at Eugenie's autumnal wedding. That said a simple, well-tailored coat dress in a deep emerald green with a small round/oval headpiece might've looked more elegant.

I'm hating her hat more and more (reminds me of straw boaters in the 80s) and I can't work out the bit of fabric on the back of her dress.

I haven't seen a clear photo of the mother of the groom but she didn't feel the need to stick to a colourscheme. I think Fergie's dress was meant to tie in with the green in the bridesmaids sashes but imo it didn't quite work for her despite her pale colouring and red hair.

daisychain01 · 13/10/2018 15:10

Fergie's best feature by far are her legs. She has the most beautiful slender ankles and calves, a feature she has passed to both her daughters. They all have legs to die for!

I don't know why Beatrice was described as the maid of honour, she didn't really do much to help. Poor young Lady Louise had to scrabble up those steps supervising the little ones.

QueenDoria · 13/10/2018 15:26

Anyhoo, seems like a lovely wedding. Xxx

diddl · 13/10/2018 15:36

Any pics of eveningwear anywhere?

beanaseireann · 13/10/2018 15:38

I agree re Fergies legs.
She looked really well.
I felt the dress gave her a matronly shape around the middle and behind area.
I suppose at nearly 60 she is allowed to be matronly Smile

itswinetime · 13/10/2018 15:49

hello

There are some here

diddl · 13/10/2018 16:03

Ooh lovely, thanks.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/10/2018 16:14

Finally spotted Sarah Chatto, and what on earth was Serena Snowdon wearing? Helen Taylor's outfit was also unusual but I thought she looked very elegant. The older she gets, the more she looks like her mother, who was also a very beautiful woman. I don't think she's very well these days, as she's rarely seen in public.

SillySallySingsSongs · 13/10/2018 16:25

I don't like the awkward way her mother dresses her but on this occasion she might've looked cute in a matching outfit to Beatrice, with a pencil skirt.

It was a similar outfit to the one Beatrice was wearing.

diddl · 13/10/2018 16:28

The link for Sarah Chatto doesn't work for e, but I agree that Helen Taylor looks lovely-as does Sophie Winkleman.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 13/10/2018 16:30

I see that now. The bit I saw on TV made it look very thin and plain (I didn't see the belt). On that basis I thought something with a bit more flair/ structure like Beatrice's would've looked good. Now I've seen a better picture I agree with you.

I didn't mean to suggest her mother had chosen her outfit for the wedding, why would she?

beanaseireann · 13/10/2018 16:35

Great to see Sophie Winkleman Windsor looking so well after her accident.
Her husband Freddie has a look of the British Royal Family of the late 19 th / early 20 th centuries, though a little consumptive looking.
Helen Taylor is rocking a 40's look.
Serena Snowdon's shoes n tights combo Shock

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/10/2018 16:38

Hmm that doesn't work either but she's about halfway down the page here http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2018/10/princess-eugenie-jacks-wedding-royal.html?m=1

diddl · 13/10/2018 16:38

Freddie reminds me of Queen Victoria's son Leopold

LuluJakey1 · 13/10/2018 17:14

I thought Eugenie looked stunning- the dress was beautiful, lved the shoulder detail, and incredibly well fitted. The tiara was breathtaking and her make-up was lovely. She and Jack look very happy together.

Beatrice looked nice. Sarah Ferguson's dress was a lovely colour but far too tight and the detail on the hat was very 1980s. Lady Helen Taylor has aged badly I think - she is very grey looking these days. What is Serena Stanhope wearing! Those shoes and that dress are hideous.

Lord Frederick Windsor is very odd looking I think.

Princess Anne looked lovely. Sarah Chatto has her own style and she suits it. The Queen has her own style too. She is very stooped these days - looks like osteoporosis to me.

Pippa's dress wasn't flattering at all, far too solid a colour and heavy fabric. Sophie looked good. Poor Lady Louise- I laways think she is such a nice girl but they never dress her with any style. They have just allowed her out of badly fitting children's coats with sleeves far too short for her and thick white tights.

Megan Markle looked very dull. Zara has no dress sense at all. Kate never competes at weddings.

Eugenie was the most beautifully dressed, as it should be.

diddl · 13/10/2018 17:34

I haven't yet seen a decent pic of Lady Louise's dress-maybe that's not so bad though as she is only 14 & a pic of her included along with others specifically to show outfits would be odd.

this is nice a nice pic

desertmum · 13/10/2018 17:52

I thought her dress was beautiful and I loved that they were so smiley and looked sooo happy.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 13/10/2018 19:06

Thanks for the evening pics @itswinetime. Love Fergie's evening outfit, although a brave choice of colour & fabric for someone seemingly susceptible to sweaty pits (as am I!)

Also love Chloe Delevingne's evening dress - floor length red sequins. Beautiful.

itswinetime · 13/10/2018 19:11

The day 2 looks are starting to creep out! Definitely a different vibe day 2

Caprisunorange · 13/10/2018 19:17

Lila moss looks much older than 15 doesn’t she?

mathanxiety · 13/10/2018 19:22

I think she dressed like someone in her mid 20s trying to dress conservatively for a formal occasion, Caprisunorange. Then you have Lady Louise on the opposite end of the spectrum, who is as LuluJakey said such a nice girl but they never dress her with any style. They have just allowed her out of badly fitting children's coats with sleeves far too short for her and thick white tights.

One is 15 and the other is 14. I know there could be almost two years between them despite ages on paper, but there is a happy medium when it comes to dressing.

QueenOfTheAndals · 13/10/2018 19:23

What the hell are they all wearing on day 2? Is it a circus theme??
