Maybe this should go in celebrity gossip if such a board exists but I feel so sorry for his girlfriend and her husband

How likely is it they’ll be voted out of Strictly this weekend?

There is no denying they both cheated though.

Granted we don't know both sides but the fact he chose to go cheating on his girlfriend's birthday is just a bit grubby.

Their apologies fell flat to me. I am inclined to believe his girlfriend because I've stood in her shoes. I'm happy to be proved wrong. But he cheated. Kat cheated. And the fact that Neil was acknowledged and she wasn't was pretty shitty.

I guess because Katya and Neil are still together (well, one has to assume from what she said) whereas Seann and Rebecca aren't.

When you see the video he is absolutely pissed. He can’t walk straight let alone think straight. He looks like a boozy bloke. He has been gussied up for SCD with fake tan, and he has lost a bit of weight. But normally he looks bloated and red eyed. I think I am saying I believe they had a drunken snog and that was it. Although I think he likes her very much as well. He does (did) a lot of laughing with her and they clearly clicked.

From all the online comments, I think he is going to get a lot of votes. Because he has been so vilified and hounded they are going to be in for a good few weeks, the tide has turned. People feel sorry for him.

I love Katya’s choreography, and after the Matrix routine was looking forward to seeing more from them, but she is now under restraint and I doubt the routines will be as good.

sheldonesque, but you admit you are inclined to believe his ex because you have been in a similar position. What if you hadn't would that change your view?

I thankfully have never been in that position and I don't know whether she is telling the truth or not. I cannot say I believe or disbelieve her.

I just don't understand why some people (mainly women) feel that a woman must be telling the truth. Women and men are both capable of lying that is a fact. None of us know what the truth is.

I believe Rebecca because of the behaviour he has shown about the whole mess. Also some of his 'jokes' about his relationship are unnecessarily nasty and aggressive. Someone at the start of the thread put a link to them. He seems callous , insincere, and self absorbed. Who goes out for drinks with another woman when it's your girlfriend's birthday? Then apologies to strangers rather than just say 'Rebecca, I have treated you badly. I'm sorry.' But he didn't. I got an explanation of what a stupid mistake he made. At least Katia apologised to Neil publicly.

Have we considered perhaps Katya didn't know Sean had a girlfriend?

I'm not a Katya fan by any means, but it is possible he never told her/the subject never came up. I've worked with people for years and never known/asked/cared to ask if they're dating anyone, and Sean and Rebecca are hardly the Posh and Becks of the comedian world. Before all this, most people had never heard of either of them, and any mentions of their relationship were probably on page 2-3 on Google.

Of course, she couldn't come out and say she didn't know he had a girlfriend, as that would make him look even worse! But if the rumours are true, and she is in an open marriage, perhaps she didn't think (in her eyes) she was doing anything wrong.

On this occasion yes - I'd feel the same. Just because of how it has played out. Rest assured I've stuck up for male colleagues who have had similar done to them. I know women lie too. I'm just not feeling it this time.

If he'd said sorry to his lass then I wouldn't think he was such an arsehole. But he didn't so I do. He might not be sorry for what he did. Might not be sorry for getting caught. Might not be sorry his relationship is over. Fine.

But he should be sorry he hurt her and he should be sorry he started this whole sorry mess and he should be sorry he did it in public.

I don't think he has been vilified. He was called out on his shit behaviour and is having to deal with the fall out.

He should stay on strictly. But I won't be voting for him.

Katya knew he had a girlfriend, she was there in the strictly audience supporting him.

Tess and Bruce positively encouraged the romance between Matt and Flavia despite her long term partner being part of the show. They did it in front of poor Vincent. Although poor Vincent then did the dirty on his pregnant partner some years later with Kristina.

Harleypuppy I agree, the way he talks about her in his acts doesn’t sound nice. Going for a drink (and a snog) with another woman on her birthday isn’t nice. He has shown he really doesn’t care about her or her feelings and has publicly humiliated her.

As for the others I don’t seem to remember any of them snogging in public on their partners birthday while the partner was waiting for them at home. That’s what stinks.

I feel sorry for them both now... when the pictures were released I didn't at all, but the extent of the coverage is blowing it into a huge public scandal when in actual fact it is a matter for four people to resolve amongst themselves. Granted they are in the public eye and it wasnt the wisest to snog each other's faces off in public, but they both looked steaming drunk and I'm fairly certain that most people have done something stupid when off their faces.

I didn't think he was a particularly good dancer so hadn't voted for him to date. All this coverage is actually making me want to vote for him this week. Which is really sad, given that it is a dancing show and couples should be judged on their dancing and not their private lives.

I imagine that his strategy in appearing on Strictly was to broaden his appeal with a view to moving away from panel shows and stand-up into light entertainment and presenting work, a bit like Paddy Kielty, Dara Ó Briain, or Romesh Ranganathan. It has worked for Susan Calman, although she was never quite as spiky as Sean(n). I fear this will not help him in that endeavour.

I can’t think of any other slightly obscure stand-ups who’ve done SCD. The Jimmy Tarbucks and Brian Conleys were already well established in light entertainment.

Rebecca had been frequently tweeting her support for the pair of them, tagging Katiya and calling her a legend.

Pretty strong indicator Katiya knew Sean/n had a girlfriend.
