Maybe this should go in celebrity gossip if such a board exists but I feel so sorry for his girlfriend and her husband

How likely is it they’ll be voted out of Strictly this weekend?

How do you know it was just a kiss? They could have gone back to a hotel together? Not saying they definitely have but they could have.

I’ve been thinking about the comments from a couple of pages ago about why wasn’t there this fuss about Boris Johnson.

I think, the sections of the media are interested in Boris are the ‘serious’ sections, which are middle class and male dominated. They’re actually not that bothered that Boris is a cheat. They enjoy the salacious details and are interested in whether it affects his prospects of being PM. So that sets the tone of the reporting.

The sections of the media interested in Strictly are at the lighter, fluffier end, and here women’s voices are much more prevalent. So the emotional damage that cheating does is recognised and discussed.

I think he was doing the usual lazy, crap bloke thing of wanting to dump your girlfriend but behaving so badly that she does it for you. A man who loves his girlfriend doesn’t behave like that in public.

If they had gone back to a hotel together the paps would have climbed the outside and got a video of all of the goings on, pictured them leaving after the event, and interviewed hotel staff who would have recognised them etc.

Its a fuss over nothing, they will be on holiday together in Antigua in a week or so. All of the women on here have never kissed a bloke they shouldnt have after drinking? It all standard apart from DM stirring it all up.

To me, the thing that says that he didn't value his relationship, whether because he's a bastard or because it was basically over, was that he went out for random drinks with another woman on her birthday.

My DH's ex made a lot of accusations anout him that were untrue, including allegations of quite serious abuse. I still err towards believing women who speak out about bad relationships. Roxanne Pallet is getting wheeled out in reference to lots of women now and it almost feels as if the media is relieved to have a high profile case of a false accusation to refer to. None of us know the truth but there are already stories out there about other incidents over the years that tend to support the idea that he hasn't been a great boyfriend. (I read the Mail website yesterday. It's obsessed but is finding tiny bits to spin the story out over the week.)

God that interview is dreadful. Zoe Ball cheated and is having to put sean(n) and Katya through some crap?

I really don't think it's a public interest thing beyond gossip and I feel more sorry for them than for the gf/dh now. Not sure that was the intention.

I agree Noeuf. The animosity towards the 'guilty' pair is way over the top when you consider a kiss is just a kiss (we've no evidence of anything else), and no-one died. It was tacky but a mistake. No-one is perfect.

Last night's ITT interview was grossly embarrassing! It achieved nothing.

I feel as though I want them to do well now :-).

pickle I think he was referring to the suggestion that he is abusive. If it's not true then I don't blame him for saying that.

Should people just shrug when they are cheated on and say well no one died then. Hmm

The comments about 'people who know him' was odd. My best friends stbx didn't walk around with the fact he was an emotional abuser stamped across his forehead. When people found out they were genuinely shocked.

The people who know him will have no idea if it's true or not.

just because posters have been abused or know someone who has been. does not mean it happened in this case. taking an someones word for it and baying for blood of the accused is OTT.
no one knows if it really happened.

Absolutely.

I think whatever happens in Strictly, which seems to exist in a strange little bubble of it's own, the world will move on and Seann's stand up career will continue and probably even buy him a few 'risque' jokes supposedly at his own expense. Am thinking of the likes of Jimmy Carr, Jason Manford, Angus Deayton, etc etc....

Yes, I think you might be right. In which case I think he needs a new PR who can advise him categorically to keep things brief and not 'answer back'. I can't believe that long ramble has done his image any good.

I agree Zoe looked unimpressed at having to do the apology thing, but I think they HAD to –it would have been even more weird not to acknowledge it.

Exactly Raspberry. It seems a lot of mn posters are clairvoyant so do know his ex is telling the truth.

Meanwhile in real life there seems to be a bit of a backlash against her. The majority of the Mail comments, the Sun comments, the Strictly facebook comments and Digital Spy comments are against her. People are saying they have sympathy for Seann and she is coming across as slightly crazy.

Also lots of people saying they are going to vote for Seann

But NONE of us know if she is telling the truth do we? Enough is enough. The non story should end now. We don't need story after story in the papers when there is real news they could be reporting and others who have cheated such as Boris Johnson were definitely not given as much attention.

Also I had forgotten but when Ricky Whittle was in Strictly he was arrested on an assault charge and he wasn't sacked nor did he walk away

If there were no cameras, I'm sure 99.9% of MN would have believed Roxanne Pallet's accusations.

I'm not saying she's lying, but we (the public), have no clue who is telling the truth here or whether some things have been exaggerated . It seems the argument is he cheated and went and snogged a woman on his gf's birthday birthday = he must be a liar.

I find it very worrying that so many women believe anything that comes out of another woman’s mouth wrt cheating etc.
All a woman has to do is say it happened and that’s enough. Case closed. & if you dare say, ‘hang on a minute, we don’t know all the facts’ you’re called a misogynist.
