Hand hold pls - think I'm watching my mother die

Sitting in a side room on a hospital ward. She's struggling to breathe and clammy and cold. I was here earlier and went home but the nurse rang me to tell me to come over.

Tbh, watching her like this, I think that death, when it comes, will come as a friend.

So much love to you and your mum 💖

RogerAllamsFangirl · 23/09/2018 06:42

Thanks all. Mum passed at about 3 this morning. I was with her all the time. It was peaceful in the end. Now for a horrible day of telling people and working out what next.

💐 so sorry for your loss OP

JohnMcCainsDeathStare · 23/09/2018 07:38

Sorry for your loss. I was there with my Dad when it was his turn. I'm just grateful for a quick decline without the horrible slow drawn out pain.
She is a peace now.

JohnMcCainsDeathStare · 23/09/2018 07:39

On a practical note I hope you have some friends to help you with ordinary things or just to be there.
Also order at least 6 death certificates because you will need them for various bodies and institutions such as banks where she is still officially alive.

brizzledrizzle · 23/09/2018 07:44

You have just done the kindest thing anybody can do for another person.
So sorry for your loss Thanks

Brokenmyankleandfoot · 23/09/2018 07:45

So sorry for your loss.

It is the longest sit.

LadyGAgain · 23/09/2018 07:47

Thanks for you. You did the kindest and most loving thing for her by being there. Can you delegate sharing the news? Don't rush. Take your time. You now are the one who needs looking after. Be kind to yourself.

So sorry

Sending you love and strength 💕

Autumnwindy · 23/09/2018 07:48

Sorry to hear this op. I don't see why humans have to see it out to the last breath.
I had to do the same recently, it beggars belief we do this to ourselves. My relative had two weeks of that.

I’m so sorry for your loss, but take comfort that your Mum passed peacefully with you next to her Flowers
On a practical note, for next steps do get a recommendation for a good funeral director. Ours was utterly professional and invaluable with giving us guidance on all the practical aspects.
Stay strong and good luck as you get through the next few days and weeksx

Somewhereovertherainbow13 · 23/09/2018 08:02
