Just ... hello really.

I consider myself a bit of an oldie but there might be people still here who were posting from the very start (circa 2000/01 ish?).

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to go back 10-12 years on Mumsnet. Would it look significantly different? I remember lots of scandals about the changing of the appearance of the site. I guess there would be fewer adverts, sliders and pop-ups?

I thought LaQ had been able somehow to avoid being banned by MNHQ for ages even though a lot of people thought she wasn't who she said. But the hostility towards her was mainly because she would go onto threads where a poster was having a bad time and say 'oh, well my husband is wonderful I have nothing to worry about and I'm rich'

I think LaQ was here under another name, according to the folk on Reddit, but I've lost track.

She is pretty easy to spot, you can lure her in with threads about grammar schools and general showing off.

I must be feeling nostalgic or sentimental or maybe it's the peri-menopause, but I miss her. She would no doubt tell me that there is no such thing as the peri-menopause. I just need to see her amazing specialist and practice mind over matter.

I joined in 2002 or 2003. Went to a few meet ups and met some great people, spent way too much time on MN and remember a lot of the oldies, Came off for a number of years, back recently with a new name.

2004 joiner here. Fondly remember the weekly round up, got mentioned once - like a badge of honour that was.Remember the Moldies scandal! Left before the great hacking thing, lurked for years after that. Good to see so many names from MN past.

MNTrolls is the place but it is not as active or as vitriolic as it was in the early days.

La Queen/Princess/KES used to post photos of her ‘home and gardens’ inspired house-disguised as photos of her kids. If you looked very closely-the kids were there-right at the very back of the very large room!

I am genuinely sad Maryz is banned for whatever reason. She gave me a lot of support when my son was sectioned and brilliant advice.

The thing I can most remember from then was the birth announcements and also the family photos. That would never happen now.

Ah, I remember all the photos on profiles too. Not much point in having anonymous names if you're posting identifiable photos, although I did like looking at them back then.

I joined when pg with DS. 21 years ago! He was born during the terrible heatwave of '03. I spent most of my 3rd trimester in the pool and on MN.
