I'm struggling at the moment with MH issues that are refusing to let up and part of that is I'm struggling to see the good in the world.

It must exist so I'm asking MN to help me to see it.

So far today I have,

the lovely person who sent me a lovely pm today,
the patient at the pharmacy who went and picked up my meds for me so I didn't need to struggle and,
the person who told me they care.

So, what's yours?

I know you're good at it- that's what so terrible!

GoneWishing · 11/09/2018 02:33

Good to read about positives tonight. Flowers

I found out about an arrest being made in a cold case, and there's finally hope for answers and justice for the family of the victim. (Bittersweet, as they won't get their loved one back, and for me as I knew the person arrested.)

I had a nice enough art session in a hobby group I go to, and while my "art" wasn't great, it was great to socialise a bit.

I baked a pear and chocolate cake, which turned out fine, and looks prettier than most of my attempts.

Saw this thread and had to say, what a great idea to start this, Becca. Reading this was one of the nice moments in my day.
Wishing you all good things! Flowers

Morning @Becca, how are you?

Today's good things

  • a friend of mine dragged me out swimming first thing. She goes every week as part of a weight loss plan. She's lost a stack of weight. I need to do the same. We did twenty lengths (not much) then gossiped in the jacuzzi.
  • a crow is collecting all the bits of bread I put out for the birds and strutting round like he's showing off what he got. Very funny. I love feeding animals.
SneakyGremlins · 11/09/2018 10:51

Treated the cat for fleas yesterday and he's already less itchy Grin

Becca19962014 · 11/09/2018 11:40

I'm exhausted and heading back to bed for a bit of a rest. I've tried (and failed) to go out this morning, however, the lovely postman moved the bins so I can get out if I want to which were left blocking me in this morning and didn't insist I opened the door to get my post.

SneakyGremlins · 11/09/2018 12:20

That's a good thing for you then Becca! SmileFlowers I hope you get some rest

Tatiannatomasina · 11/09/2018 12:22

I ran on my treadmill for 20 minutes without stopping this morning. Its taken me weeks to get to this point.

SneakyGremlins · 11/09/2018 12:24

I'm in awe of you Tatianna Shock

Becca19962014 · 11/09/2018 19:56

I got out to get food, eventually.

Am grateful for the person who opened a door for me, the person who stopped to let me over the road and person who helped me get some shopping.

I did get a bit of rest too. Hoping to have an early night tonight, well earlyish. Can't be before 11 as I've got to have meds and wait for awhile.

Cake
MipMipMip · 11/09/2018 20:52

The dog collar that I like hadn't been discontinued after all, so that's good.

MorningsEleven · 11/09/2018 21:08

I got offered a job. And I really wanted it (working as a guide in a stately home). I'm not posh or proper but I'm a history geek. I've been out of work for ages and my confidence was shot. I'm on cloud 9.

Becca19962014 · 11/09/2018 21:13

I'm sure miphound appreciates that too mip !

MipMipMip · 11/09/2018 21:32

That's wonderful Morning! Congratulations. Really pleased for you

MipHound doesn't appreciate it at all Becca - it's a light up one that makes it harder for him to sneak up on people and make them jump. Spoiling his fun!

WhatsGoingOnEh · 11/09/2018 21:41

My eldest has said he's going to audition for the school BIG concert with his band. So happy - he was really struggling a few years ago but he's bouncy and confident now.

My youngest told me that I'm "a very good mum". 😃

My Mrs Hinch obsession means our house is lovely and tidy, clean, and smells lush.

I've stuck to my WW diet. No booze either.

All my houseplants are thriving.

This is a lovely thread - thanks, OP. 💕

Becca19962014 · 11/09/2018 21:59

Oh in that case I think it's mean and shouldn't be on the thread! Poor miphound

OP, hope you are doing better, little by little. Take it easy. My good thing is that my DD, who failed some exams earlier this year (and was crushed), retook then yesterday and we just found out that she absolutely nailed them. She’s only 11. She’s worked so hard and we are so proud of her, and now she will be going to the school she really wants to go to.

MorningsEleven · 11/09/2018 22:24

@MipMipMip

Thank you so much.

@SlightlyTired well done her, you're right to be proud of all that hard work and determination.

cantfindname · 11/09/2018 22:25

I've just fed 'my' hedgehogs after a really crappy day and they always make me smile.

Managed to not only cook myself some dinner but also to eat most of it.

And I haven't cried today (yet)

MinaPaws · 11/09/2018 23:47

@cantfindname - where/how did you get hedgehogs? It's seriously one of my life's ambitions to have a hedgehog family in our garden. It's the perfect environment for them. I keep hoping they'll just turn up, but no luck so far.

SneakyGremlins · 12/09/2018 00:01

I've got a cold but the good thing is I've found a tub of my favourite hot chocolate at the back of the cupboard!

Verbena87 · 12/09/2018 08:34

My husband and I have both gone part time so we can share childcare. Today is my at-home-with-the-baby day and he just brought me a proper coffee in bed even though he’s running around sorting his packed lunch and getting ready to go. I was up at 6 and out to work by half 7 yesterday so coffee in bed with a cuddly 1-year-old is bliss!

MorningsEleven · 12/09/2018 09:55

MinaPaws
We have a hedgehog house in the hedge outside our house we were approached by a woman who does hedgehog stuff and she asked if we'd have it. They roam free like wombles though, we don't feed them and they're hidden so you have to look really hard to see them.

MorningsEleven · 12/09/2018 09:58

Here's another good thing. My school refuser has started a special school and is actually attending. Never in my life did I think I'd be overjoyed at having a kid in a special school but I am.
