I'm struggling at the moment with MH issues that are refusing to let up and part of that is I'm struggling to see the good in the world.

It must exist so I'm asking MN to help me to see it.

So far today I have,

the lovely person who sent me a lovely pm today,
the patient at the pharmacy who went and picked up my meds for me so I didn't need to struggle and,
the person who told me they care.

So, what's yours?

Day off today, so sat down with my morning cuppa in my dressing gown.
Got dressed at 8.
Dug the garden and moved alot of hardy plants into more suitable locations. No rain, thankfully.
Garden looks better but it's only a drop in the ocean.
I'm waiting for my chicken casserole to cook, it's a chuck it all in kind of dish so fingers crossed.

I like those pyjamas too Verbena, unfortunately, DS2 would not be impressed. 😂

PhilomenaButterfly · 12/10/2018 17:46

I've eaten far too much Christmassy food, which, trust me, is a good thing! 😂

Verbena87 · 12/10/2018 17:58

Haha, philomena luckily he’s only 1 and can’t voice his opinion on pajama styles yet, so he gets absolute cuteness Wink

PhilomenaButterfly · 12/10/2018 21:11

Quite right too! 😂

Becca19962014 · 13/10/2018 13:09

I got some food today. Got drenched walking back (in Wales and weather is getting worse so grateful I went this morning).

Me and my friend have decided to set up a business. I’m excited! I think it’s going to really take off, or at least... I hope so! Even if it doesn’t though, I really am looking forward to working on something with my friend. It’s good to feel hopeful about the future!

SneakyGremlins · 13/10/2018 13:43

My good thing is that I got the meds I needed from the pharmacy!

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/10/2018 16:56

Yay Grems!

My good thing is that DS2's calm and quiet.

holycityzoo · 13/10/2018 20:32

It was my sons 4th birthday. He has had such a lovely day and despite it being quite hard work (lots of family and friends came over) so did I.

IAmcuriousyellow · 13/10/2018 20:35

I entered six pictures in a local art show! I paint portraits, and this is my first time “out” - other than friends and family. Haven’t sold anything yet but it ends tomorrow so fingers crossed!

Becca19962014 · 14/10/2018 23:30

I went and got my milk. Narrowly missed being hit by a car as I tried to cross the road at the drop in the kerb - the problem being that it is quite far round the corner and people speed around the corner there. Anyway they missed me so it's good.

Hope you are ok OP. Good things for me this weekend:

DS1 who uses to be very shy and awkward and struggle with friendships and separation go off on an outing with a friend and his family - he was really excited, skipped into the car and had a great time with them. Unthinkable a year ago.

DS1 and 2 who have been at each other’s throats for months actually played together for a good 30 mins today happily. I could hear them sorting out differences of opinion peacefully when previously they would have been hitting and punching each other.

DS2 has started reading! Only sounding out simple words at the moment but it’s a joy to see.

We have moved house so finally the stress of moving is over.

Sending good thoughts your way OP

PhilomenaButterfly · 15/10/2018 10:54

I've just ordered Frozen on DVD online for DS2.

Becca19962014 · 15/10/2018 12:42

The taxi driver gave me a free fare today.
It's been a difficult day and I got home and they said it was on them, I then sat and cried that they were so nice Confused

IAmcuriousyellow · 15/10/2018 16:50

That was sweet, of the taxi driver x

Becca19962014 · 16/10/2018 23:46

Nothing today. Couldn't even get outside.

I am a CP social worker involved with a large family from baby up to teenage. Two years of work, chronic neglect from a mum who was on her knees and totally avoident (shit childhood herself, abusive partners, no informal support). The younger children's health/emotional needs were not being met, teenagers were off the scale with anti-social behaviour/ criminal activity and not in school (single figure attendance). She has turned it around. We have been so close to removing these children. Kids now in school, mum parenting and confident, no ASB from older kids for months who are incredibly courteous and engaging when I see them now. They also have ambition and want to achieve more than the life they were born into. Mum told me today that she used to hate me but I am the best thing that happened to their family. I bloody love my job!

beclev24 · 17/10/2018 02:33

@willstarttomorrow that’s amazing! Congratulations! If you don’t mind my asking, what were the main things that turned things around? (Apologies if this details the thread)

Verbena87 · 17/10/2018 08:42

@willstarttomorrow that’s made me feel a bit weepy; well done to all involved. I’m a teacher and see bits of these kinds of stories, and human resilience really can be totally astonishing.

Good things: today is not a work day so am still in bed cuddling my one year old. My husband is off this morning, so is downstairs brewing coffee. I get to see my brilliant sister at the weekend (she lives really far away so this is a rare treat).

MinaPaws · 17/10/2018 10:02

@willstarttomorrow that is phenomenal. You've just made me cry. What a wonderful thing you do. I hope they honour your hard work and keep on going.

PhilomenaButterfly · 17/10/2018 10:12

Topped up DD's phone, and DS2 has playscheme today.

FingerPrintTree · 17/10/2018 10:19

MIL called and we’ve arranged to meet up for coffee and shopping this afternoon. I’m looking forward to it because my MIL is awesome and we’ve both been so busy recently that we’ve not managed to get together for a couple of weeks.
