Is there anything everyone likes?

Just looking at the John Lewis advert thread....I thought it was sweet but there are people who don’t...fair enough.

But are there some things that are universally liked?

For example

A kitten, who can’t like a kitten?
.
A walk on a crisp autumn day?

A bit like above ..but waking up and thinking it's a work day then realising you have the day off Smile

NigelGresley · 07/09/2018 22:05

Sorry neffall, the joys of a good 💩 have already been celebrated further upthread Grin

Instead, how about when you’ve had painful trapped wind all day, and you finally get to a place where you can work on its release Grin

Finding peace.

ShatnersBassoon · 07/09/2018 22:47

Finding peace.

That sounds a bit stressful.

PhilODox · 07/09/2018 23:03

Shatners- I just genuinely LOL at that!

Father Ted Crilly? Surely everyone likes him?
A beautiful vista?
Peace and quiet after a busy day?

lborgia · 07/09/2018 23:23

Sorry PP, my FIL hates pizza!

and there was an adult (well, I assume) on a previous washing boast thread that said she loved her sheets when they were all used and smelled... so there goes that theory.

I don’t think we can include breathing because for some people it is distressing (if they can’t do it properly).

I’m not a fan of rainbows. I’m good at pointing them out to DCs, but really, don’t get any kind of emotional reaction to them (good or bad).

Baby smell makes me panic, and penguins do not make me smile (first vivid recollection of penguins being their SMELL at London Zoo on a hot day about 40 years ago!)...

Anyway, I like clean sheets, and condensed milk, and most of the other things mentioned... but no. I don’t think there is anything that everyone likes.

Being spooned in bed - gross. My real pleasure is sleeping alone, which I do most of the time but the downside of being on holiday is having to share a bedroom with my DH, at least it is two singles (pushed together) & separate duvets. We have both said that the only good thing about the holiday is back to our own rooms Grin.

So there have been no disagreements about An alarm stopping.

I think that’s it.

Or space.

Meet0nTheLedge · 08/09/2018 08:44

What about when you wake in the morning and your bed is so cosy and you reach out to check what time it is and it's still over an hour before you need to get up! ?

I do this most days at the moment and its bloody annoying as I can't get back to sleep knowing its less than an hour till the alarm goes off and I would much rather have the sleep than just lie there.

NigelGresley · 08/09/2018 08:46

Surely no one has vetoed fresh air or oxygen????

treaclesoda · 08/09/2018 08:49

Surely no one has vetoed fresh air or oxygen

Not on this thread but I have seen at least one particular poster on here in the past claim repeatedly to hate fresh air!

LoisWilkerson1 · 08/09/2018 08:54

Yes even fresh air isn't immune from the mn sneer Grin

AtAmber · 08/09/2018 09:01

I loath Tom Hanks. I can't watch anything he's in.

OnwardMarch · 08/09/2018 09:07

Someone mentioned ‘water’ upthread, especially when there’s nothing else to drink and you’re thirsty, no one vetoed that.

OnwardMarch · 08/09/2018 09:07

Tom Hanks and his ilk, they’re all smug.

Ifailed · 08/09/2018 09:24

Fresh air is OK, in the right place. When it's blowing into your cold & draughty house in the middle of winter that you are struggling to keep warm, then no, it's not nice.

ExileOnMNStreet · 08/09/2018 10:08

Schadenfreude.

Based on being a long time MNer Grin

gower4 · 08/09/2018 19:28

The Queen

JaneJeffer · 08/09/2018 19:43

gower you're asking for trouble now Grin

SeriousAlligator · 08/09/2018 19:57

Is this 'adults' like? I was anally retentive as a young'n so poo, no.
Kittens-yes apart from people who are allergic or don't like animals.
Milk-no, vegans. I suppose most people up to the end of breast feeding age then it ends. I disagree with breathing,too-that's not something people 'like' its something that comes with existing. Like saying 'being inside skin' or ' being human'. Suicidal people would argue, too! So no, I don't think there's anything everyone 'likes'.

LynetteScavo · 08/09/2018 20:15

No one's said they don't like rainbows.....or fluffy white clouds in a blue sky.

MongerTruffle · 08/09/2018 20:18

I'm allergic to cats.

Saggital · 08/09/2018 20:22

Kit-Kats.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 08/09/2018 20:29

Who doesn’t like chips

My ds doesn’t really like a freshly made bed he told me this last week he likes it better after a few days sleep Shock utterly odd

Not liking David Attenborough Shock Angry what sort of person are you
