Is there anything everyone likes?

Just looking at the John Lewis advert thread....I thought it was sweet but there are people who don’t...fair enough.

But are there some things that are universally liked?

For example

A kitten, who can’t like a kitten?
.
A walk on a crisp autumn day?

Sleep

CloudCaptain · 06/09/2018 08:33

The smell of fresh cut grass?
Not keen on kittens my self, bouncy scratchy things. Especially if they are birthed out of a mcvities biscuit packet. Bizarre advert.

Ragwort · 06/09/2018 08:37

I don't think there is anything that is really universally liked. Personally I can't stand kittens, my favourite thing is being totally alone, no one making demands of me or having any expectations- yet I know many people hate being on their own.

SayNoToTheRing · 06/09/2018 08:40

Clean sheets

MrsGrindah · 06/09/2018 08:41

Nope to the walk thingy.
Smell of someone you love? Our someone’s are different but the experience is the same I would guess

MrsGrindah · 06/09/2018 08:42

Being told ( sincerely) that you are loved

MrsGrindah · 06/09/2018 08:42

Winning something

newroundhere · 06/09/2018 08:43

Getting a seat on the tube?

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 06/09/2018 08:44

David Attenborough.... surely he is universally liked.

Namechangeforhair · 06/09/2018 08:46

Chocolate ?

Namechangeforhair · 06/09/2018 08:46

Christmas?

RonniePickering · 06/09/2018 08:47

Cool breeze on a warm day?

Ragwort · 06/09/2018 08:47

Surely being told you are loved is only a really good experience if you love (or at least really like) the same person back. Being told you are loved can be really creepy or stalkerish if it is from someone you have no wish to be 'in love' with Grin.

Aridane · 06/09/2018 08:48

A beautiful sunset

Needhelpasking4help · 06/09/2018 08:48

DD shockingly cannot bear David Attenborough's voice Shock

Ifailed · 06/09/2018 08:49

it all depends on the context - so sleep is good, unless you are driving.

The simple answer is no, there is nothing that is universally liked if for no other reason some one could have a phobia about it.

Whitelisbon · 06/09/2018 08:50

David Attenborough irritates me. Its totally irrational, and I have no idea why, but I'm irritated by him.
Sorry!
Smell of a newborn baby? I've never met anyone who doesn't like it.

ZaZathecat · 06/09/2018 08:50

Christmas?? Namechange every year there are hundreds of threads on MN about the stress and tension of trying to keep everyone happy etc.

JaretsGirlfren · 06/09/2018 08:50

Cheesecake obvs

RottenApple · 06/09/2018 08:53

New born babies smell like milk that's gone off to me. Horrible.

I'd agree with the clean sheets thing.
Who doesn't like getting into a freshly made clean bed?

PeridotCricket · 06/09/2018 08:54

How can you not like David Attenborough!,

OP posts:
iklboo · 06/09/2018 08:54

I like chocolate bars, individual chocolates etc - but I can't stand chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate mousse, hot chocolate etc. I only like chocolate biscuits if they're coated in 'real' chocolate and the biscuit itself is plain.

PeridotCricket · 06/09/2018 08:54

Oh and excluding phobias....

OP posts:
CakeNinja · 06/09/2018 08:57

Yy to the clean sheets. I don’t believe anyone actively DOESN’T like that.

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 06/09/2018 08:57

A beautiful sunset I knew a lady at university that said she didn't understand why people liked sunsets/sunrises as it was just nature and not interesting. She was studying biology.
