Is there anything everyone likes?

Just looking at the John Lewis advert thread....I thought it was sweet but there are people who don’t...fair enough.

But are there some things that are universally liked?

For example

A kitten, who can’t like a kitten?
.
A walk on a crisp autumn day?

Breathing? One of those things that gets overlooked, but would be hard to like anything without it..... WinkGrin

I am terrified of naps, I get sleep paralysis during naps.

Westworld · 06/09/2018 22:37

Ice cream!

Bunintheoven88 · 06/09/2018 22:37

A really good nights sleep 😴

Bunintheoven88 · 06/09/2018 22:38

Also a good sneeze

Jamhandprints · 06/09/2018 22:41

My nephews both told us they hate clean sheets day. Its uncomfortable apparently, until the sheets have been slept in. What about the smell of coffee? Not everyone likes the taste but most people like the smell. Or the smell of bacon?

PawneeParksDept · 06/09/2018 22:44

Remembering a treat you'd forgotten you bought is in your bag

MintEye · 06/09/2018 22:48

I LOVE clean sheets. Hate naps, they always give me a headache.

The smell of bacon, definitely. I'm vegetarian and hate the taste/texture of bacon but I do like how it smells.

My initial thought when clicking on this thread was "kittens!" but apparently not, so.. the smell of cut grass? (ignoring all hayfever implications). Also, the feeling of stretching out a sore muscle?

Finding money in a place you don't expect it, like a coat pocket.

Hassled seriously? you are gross! sweetened condensed milk must be disguised by the other ingredients in a key lime pie in order to be acceptable.

A good poo?

treaclesoda · 06/09/2018 22:50

I used to think there were some things that on a fundamental level everyone must like. Such as the feeling of being clean, a deep breath of clean air, a hug from someone you love.

But mumsnet soon sucked that optimism out of me, as I have heard various posters claim to despise all of those things. I don't know if they were deliberately being contrary but I do know that I did a big eye roll the day I first saw someone say that they hated fresh air. Not just hated it, but it made them sick apparently. Hmm

MrsZB · 06/09/2018 22:51

I don’t like Christmas

I don’t like the smell of cut grass

And THANK YOU to the poster above. I don’t think new borns smell very nice. I obviously just don’t smell what other people smell

MarthaHanson · 06/09/2018 22:51

Haven’t rtft but surely it’s got to be David Attenborough.

ShirleyPhallus · 06/09/2018 22:51

Babybel?

Getting home after a long flight?

Money?

FaFoutis · 06/09/2018 22:52

Winning something.

ShatnersBassoon · 06/09/2018 22:52

Private Godfrey in Dad's Army. Only a monster couldn't like him.

Tailfeather · 06/09/2018 22:55

Being in love.

I hate kittens. They give me the hee y newbies.

Bumble1830 · 06/09/2018 22:57

A nice, hot, relaxing, peaceful bubble bath

eyestightshut · 06/09/2018 22:57

Excellent and long awaited body functions- that could include a long held in wee; letting out some wind which has been held in place for hours; a mighty poo;a sneeze or satisfying a most irritating itch. No-one could not like any of those

AtSea1979 · 06/09/2018 22:58

A hot shower.
Def clean bedding.
Standing in the middle of the Lake District.

ShatnersBassoon · 06/09/2018 22:59

I'm not keen on David Attenborough. I've found him incredible and nothing more than a professional mouthpiece since I watched a making of thing for one of his shows where they used trained geese to get some amazing shots with him plonked in a boat to act all awestruck.
