Talk talk. My mum had an account with them and when she died I rang them to cancel the account. They tried to charge me £600 to cancel as there was still 9 months left on the contract. It took me a week of calls in between arranging her funeral and dealing with other companies to get it cancelled. I did eventually get an apology once I'd got through to someone senior enough.
Yodel. I've told this one before but they left a parcel with £200+ worth of items on my doorstep but claimed they'd left it in the shed (which I don't have). Between the parcel being left and me getting home someone stole it and yodel couldn't have cared less. The shop I'd bought the items from were fantastic and replaced everything with no problems.
Sky who tried to make me pay the money owed by the previous tenant (about £400 I think). They wouldn't accept that I wasn't connected to them despite me sending a copy of my tenancy. Eventually they passed it to debt collectors who turned up at my door, I explained the situation and showed them my tenancy and id. They apologised and said they'd sort it. Sky couldn't have cared less when I complained.
Green flag. We had top level cover with them, complete with guarantee to be there within an hour. We broke down in the middle of nowhere with no mobile signal, two kids under 6 and my mum who was disabled and diabetic, called Green flag about 5pm after trecking over a mile to a tiny village with a phone box. Gave them the village name and roughly where we were, flagged up the kids and my mum being diabetic and disabled, and they assured us someone would be there within an hour. By 7pm no one had turned up so trecked back to the phone box was assured they were on their way, this was repeated several times until midnight when I was told no one would be coming till at least 8am and nothing they could do.
We were stuck in the middle of nowhere, no food or water, it was bloody freezing, we were hungry and thirsty and worried about my mum's blood sugar levels. We had no one who could pick us up or anywhere to stay or get food or drink. Someone finally turned up at 9am to tow us home. When we told him what had happened he couldn't belive it as he'd come from a bigger village 10 miles away and could have got to use within 20 minutes of us calling Green flag at 5pm the night before and had us home by 8pm.
When we complained about what had happened they claimed that we'd not told them about the kids or my mum and that the calls hadn't been recorded. As we'd used a phone box we had no proof of how many times we'd called and they just didn't give a damn.
