I'll start:

Ubereats for charging me nearly a tenner for some cold, rubbery food that they told me I couldn't have a refund for as 'tough luck' AngryAngry

o2 for refusing to replace a broken new phone (arrived broken), and then not accepting my complaint.

@Whusp so frustrating! Especially as the points come in handy and I was in practically every day for snacks and toiletries. I'll be giving my custom to Superdrug more often now... until they mess up!

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 26/08/2018 11:23

I'm just waiting for some alledged PA from those companies mentioned, to turn up and "apologise" for the way you've treated plus the old platitudes:- "lessons have been learnt & further training has been given" Hmm

BT and Openreach

BT sold us a super fast broadband package that they couldn't provide. We spent almost a year contacting them weekly because our speed was so shit, to be told they offer those speeds on a wired connection. So we wired. No change. Engineers out at least once a month and told every time there's a 'fault on the line'. So much time wasted waiting in for them. Eventually, we asked one of the engineers to make it clear that we cannot possibly get the speeds they're offering, and we were released from our contract. 6 months later we were sent an invoice for what we owed on the remaining term of the contract!! After much shouting down the phone they decided to 'waive the fee to keep good faith'. Then they phoned us a week later to ask if we wanted a TV and broadband package!!

Switched to Sky and all good for 6 months and now back down so snails pace internet speeds. We're back to monthly engineer visits and told that internet is so slow because we're too far from the cabinet. A new cabinet has been installed but not switched on due to some beaurocracy bullshit. So the engineers can do nothing.
We phone sky and they tell us they have to send an engineer.

So we've tried contacting Openreach, who have NO phone number for complaints. When you call them you're redirected to email the complaint. How the Fucking Fuck are you supposed to email with no fucking broadband!?!?! You email Openreach and they say 'speak to Sky'. Helpful.

The issue is an infrastructure problem, NOT a faulty home set up or faulty phone line. We've had so many new lines in the past 3 years that it cannot possibly be a line fault.
It's bullshit. There is an Openreach van on our estate at least once a week. Our neighbours have the same issue. It's an entire housing estate and no one gives a shiny shit. So we pay for service we can't get.

It's infuriating and I'm sick to death of internet drop outs and slow speeds while in the middle of important stuff. Also pissed off with having to regularly wait in for engineers who say the exact same thing every time and there is never any resolution!!

Connells estate agents. The wankers lied about the amount of viewings they were doing and the branch manager forged customer feedback forms which were requested!

Knew for a fact a viewing didn't take place when they said it did but a customer feedback form was filled out by a "customer " when asked for one. The writing and "customer signature" was so obviously the branch managers writing because she did her letters a certain way.

Connells are fraudulent shites!

Fishandthechips · 26/08/2018 11:50

fifipop185 and me! Gas paid fine! Wondered why they didnt seem to be taking any money for electricity, they hadnt set the direct debit up properly. Didnt think to let me know then...

EyeSaidTheFly · 26/08/2018 13:03

Oh yeah. Champneys. Did an employment case against them, god they treat their employees like shit.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 26/08/2018 13:05

I even got in touch with spec savers about the bad service and glasses. Just got fobbed off. £300 down the drain.

MargaretDribble · 26/08/2018 13:31

WH Brown estate agents. Couldn't get our floorplan right. After three attempts I did it myself. Viewings accompanied by agents from other offices who hadn't a clue about the house or local area. As far as I can tell they did very little indeed for their fee.
On the day we moved I went in with the keys for the new owners and they asked me to fill in a customer feedback form then and there in the office, because obviously I had bags of time on moving day.
I took the form and said I would drop it in later. I did drop it in, to the rubbish bin outside.

Talk talk. My mum had an account with them and when she died I rang them to cancel the account. They tried to charge me £600 to cancel as there was still 9 months left on the contract. It took me a week of calls in between arranging her funeral and dealing with other companies to get it cancelled. I did eventually get an apology once I'd got through to someone senior enough.

Yodel. I've told this one before but they left a parcel with £200+ worth of items on my doorstep but claimed they'd left it in the shed (which I don't have). Between the parcel being left and me getting home someone stole it and yodel couldn't have cared less. The shop I'd bought the items from were fantastic and replaced everything with no problems.

Sky who tried to make me pay the money owed by the previous tenant (about £400 I think). They wouldn't accept that I wasn't connected to them despite me sending a copy of my tenancy. Eventually they passed it to debt collectors who turned up at my door, I explained the situation and showed them my tenancy and id. They apologised and said they'd sort it. Sky couldn't have cared less when I complained.

Green flag. We had top level cover with them, complete with guarantee to be there within an hour. We broke down in the middle of nowhere with no mobile signal, two kids under 6 and my mum who was disabled and diabetic, called Green flag about 5pm after trecking over a mile to a tiny village with a phone box. Gave them the village name and roughly where we were, flagged up the kids and my mum being diabetic and disabled, and they assured us someone would be there within an hour. By 7pm no one had turned up so trecked back to the phone box was assured they were on their way, this was repeated several times until midnight when I was told no one would be coming till at least 8am and nothing they could do.

We were stuck in the middle of nowhere, no food or water, it was bloody freezing, we were hungry and thirsty and worried about my mum's blood sugar levels. We had no one who could pick us up or anywhere to stay or get food or drink. Someone finally turned up at 9am to tow us home. When we told him what had happened he couldn't belive it as he'd come from a bigger village 10 miles away and could have got to use within 20 minutes of us calling Green flag at 5pm the night before and had us home by 8pm.

When we complained about what had happened they claimed that we'd not told them about the kids or my mum and that the calls hadn't been recorded. As we'd used a phone box we had no proof of how many times we'd called and they just didn't give a damn.

Sky, for being so fucking stupid that they couldn’t look at a map and realise that Northern Ireland is in the UK (for now) and refusing to fix my dish (for which I had full repairs insurance)because I was “in the Republic of Ireland” and would need Sky Ireland for that. Sky Ireland, of course, couldn’t fix it because my contract was not with them but with Sky UK.

6 months of explaining, arguing, pleading, weekly emailing and faithfully paying my monthly subscription from my postcoded UK address and my UK bank account in pounds sterling (for no usable service) later and I cancelled my account and sent a lengthy letter of complaint. The head guy for the UK got in contact with me, horrified and extremely apologetic, offered me a new dish, upgrade to sky plus, 6 months free movies and sport and personally booked me an appointment for the repairs the next week.

The day of the appointment I got a phone call. They were cancelling my repairs and upgrade because, you see, “you’re in the Republic of Ireland”.

My epic phone call of complaint lasted an hour and a half and 3 managers. The head of Sky UK rang me, mortified, to prostrate himself and weep, I will not have them back in the house but he gave me his personal contact details should I change my mind and refunded the subscription for the 6 months of no service.

I can’t even pass a sky repair van without hissing. The managers were all apologetic but ultimately ineffective, the customer contact people were a bunch of disinterested fucking numpties. In my area we have no other providers of cable TV. It’s Sky or nothing. I choose nothing.

A now defunct company called UKPetFood and CityLink.

Between them they lost £150 of pet products that I had ordered and each deflected the responsibility to the other.

Pet Food people refused to help because CL insisted they had attempted delivery repeatedly and had a photo of my brown front door - I live in a hamlet of 4 houses, not one of us has a brown front door.

The products were returned to Pet Food people (who kept denying that they had them) eventually they sent them out again and charged me another £6.99 meaning I had paid £13.98 delivery charges and the same thing happened again (despite me including detailed instructions on how to find my house and staying in all day and waiting for them)

It then took 6 months to get them to refund me the cost of the goods (minus postage) so I was minus £163 for that period of time. They also tried to charge me an extra £150 for 'lost' goods. I ended up cancelling my credit card so they couldn't take the money.

I'm still bitter ten years later!

Familymanhusband · 26/08/2018 19:53

Burger King.

For having the slowest fast food imaginable, served by poorly trained, disinterested staff. If McDonald's can manage it, so can you. No excuses. You're rubbish.

Manchester airport - back of queue to being served 28 mins.
Tenerife airport - back of queue to being served 33 mins.

I will never use them again, ever and would rather now go hungry.

And yes, I would prefer something more healthy, however my children wanted a burger so I had little option and we were on holiday so it was a treat. Allegedly.

Familymanhusband · 26/08/2018 20:04

Oh, and the following:

Vodafone - incompetent with too many tiers / departments

Sky - Always throttling back my broad band speed until I complained and then it sped up again - multiple times

Curry's - for always trying to wriggle out of refunds whilst blatantly ignoring consumer rights.

Argos - Same as Curry's

Ebay - for failing to do anything about a blatant and frequently reported fraudulent seller, reported multiple times by multiple people for over 12 months.

Trialsmum · 26/08/2018 20:39

Curry’s for delivering me a smashed hob and trying to claim we broke it.

Hotpoint for the most rude customer service I’ve ever had.

Sky for somehow tricking us into signing a new 18 month contract via our TV ( no idea how!) and for refusing to let us have Ultra HD without a multi room subscription (why???) We cancelled the multi room as it was the only thing we could get rid of thanks to the new ‘contract’. Also, the contract is in my name but there’s no way I’d have done it, I don’t even know our PIN number, it’ll have been dh by accident but how is it ok for someone else to ‘sign’ a new contact in my name?

BT for failing to send an engineer out 3 times over the last 2 weeks despite promising one would definitely come out this time.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 26/08/2018 20:47

School trends!!

Awful company. Take your money then ignore you!

Tried to call their customer service and it took me 64 attempts. Over a month and still don't have my daughters uniform and that start school September 4.

I will never be ordering uniform from them again.

Dozyoldtwonk · 26/08/2018 20:55

Tesco. Was in there yesterday at the checkout paying for my bits & a manager proceeds to have a very loud conversation with the young girl on my checkout - obviously a new-ish recruit - about what shift she wants on bank holiday Monday, how there’s a minimum and maximum number of hours she can do, break times depending on what shift she chooses and so on. Conversation carried on as I was paying, bagging up and I had to request my receipt at the end. Very, very unprofessional for such a large corporation!

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 26/08/2018 21:18

Scottish Gas. Kept billing me for a gas supply I didn’t have and refused to believe me when I told them there was no gas connection to my flat. Eventually resolved when they sent a meter reader who was unable to read the non-existent meter for the non-existent supply.

AnneBoleynsHead · 26/08/2018 21:52

Nestles- for completely
ripping off my home town for the water (& the fuckwits at the local council).

AsleepAllDay · 26/08/2018 22:14

EE for being so bloody expensive with all that coverage they claim to have and then totally stalling data wise when I moved into my flat. Switched to Three PAYG and had significantly fewer headaches and more data!

The amazingly incompetent rude obnoxious and useless builder that I had hired to renovate my property. Turned a 7k job to 12k and that too unfinished and botched-up. His name was Ba*. I feel so cheated and used that whenever I think of the whole episode I fear that I might have a nervous breakdown! He was a complete dishonest cowboy builder top to bottom.
