I'll start:

Ubereats for charging me nearly a tenner for some cold, rubbery food that they told me I couldn't have a refund for as 'tough luck' AngryAngry

o2 for refusing to replace a broken new phone (arrived broken), and then not accepting my complaint.

OP posts:
Aaaahfuck · 25/08/2018 10:10

Breakdown assist terrible (cheap, you get what you pay for) wouldn't come out to a dead battery as I said I may have left the lights on, so therefore my own fault. As in got back to the car called them and said oh my car won't start I think it's the battery I don't know if I've left the lights on or if it's something else when describing the problem.

Lesson learned.

BT who told me (eventually) that my landline couldn’t be fixed until 4th September, waited until I bought a load of data for my phone, then fixed the landline today. They have been keeping me updated via my landline apparently (I am not making this up) despite having given them email and mobile contact details multiple times. They then sent a text to me on the landline to tell me it was fixed. Stop press! They have just sent me another text, on the landline, to tell me they are investigating my fault, which the texted me an hour ago to say had been resolved.

Slartybartfast · 25/08/2018 10:12

Argos
refused to refund us for a Student type light that wouldnt stay up, because I forget why, somethign about it not being in the box

Slartybartfast · 25/08/2018 10:12

or not standing up!

Sitranced · 25/08/2018 10:13

The sneaky tax dodgers Amazon, Vodafone, Apple, Google, Starbucks, Topshop, Nero.

Hellomumsne · 25/08/2018 10:14

Talk Talk for making me cry on the phone through sheer frustration on far too many occasions.

chemenger · 25/08/2018 10:14

Just in case anyone wonders why we don’t move to cable, we tried to, Virgin signed us up, transferred us and then discovered that they hadn’t run a cable to our house, despite having dug up the road outside our house for a week. They said they would run the cable, signed us up again and then realised they had forgotten to do the cable, twice.

ChocAuVin · 25/08/2018 10:21

BT for being utterly, unspeakably incompetent on multiple levels every time I had the misfortune to need to contact them. Plus the interminable holds before reaching them to hold yet another bullshit conversation trying to unpick the incompetence.

MintGreen · 25/08/2018 10:22

BT for so so many reasons, not limited to:
*Cutting off my phone and internet when a student for no reason (bills fully paid), meaning I had to spend 90mins a day walking to library and back to get any work done. They promised it would be restored in 48 hours - 4 months later I still had no phone or internet, it had cost me over £60 in mobile calls on hold to their customer services, and they offered me a whopping £11 compensation.
*Taking a day off work to wait in for new BT router to be delivered (they said it HAD to be signed for, couldn't be left with neighbour etc) -it didn't turn up.
*Sexual harassment from a leering BT engineer I'd called into work, who referred to me as a 'blonde bombshell' on the phone to his colleague, and asked whether my boss (pointing at my male assistant) wouldn't be better qualified to deal with the issue than I.

chemenger · 25/08/2018 10:26

I have to say I have been totally astonished by the level of zBT’s utter incompetence. I forgot to include failing to register the fault the first time it was reported and their web fault tracking never once working.

MintGreen · 25/08/2018 10:34

chemenger one of the BT customer services reps I spoke to admitted that the service was shocking but said 'Virgin don't cover your area so you're stuck with us aren't you, hahaha'

Bubblemagic11 · 25/08/2018 10:37

AO, their delivery driver tried to drop off a washing machine which was missing a part, they told me I could go to the shop and do it myself. That it was easy. I refused so they had to take it away. They were shocked when I told them I wouldn’t take it. Day off number 1 wasted.
Rearranged the delivery and they discovered machine wasn’t even on the van! Another day off wasted!!

Realised it’s a scam with their deliveries. They drop machines off , make up some excuse why they can’t fit it so they can move onto the next delivery quicker and just expect you to take the machine. Useless twats.

Charley50 · 25/08/2018 10:43

My DP calls Halfords, Halfrauds and goes all weird if they're mentioned.

RaspberryFlump · 25/08/2018 10:56

Inchcape cars in Telford. Would never return calls, told lies. I hate them with a passion.

BarbraDear · 25/08/2018 10:58

RyanAir, for continuing to serve a drunk woman through our flight who then verbally and physically harassed my partner while RyanAir ignored her behaviour. Then ignored my complaint when we got home, then answered a tweet about them ignoring my complaint and told me to DM them.......which they promptly ignored!!

shirleyschmidt · 25/08/2018 11:02

Gosh @BigBlueBubble that is outrageous! Absolutely terrible. Company deserves to be named and shamed (tho appreciate u probs don't want to out yourself!).

Bluelonerose · 25/08/2018 11:04

Virgin fucking media.
Decided the call I made about leaving them was a call about leaving them it was a discussed option. Then tried to bill me for 2 months after ide left.
Spoke to someone who told me that I couldn't speak to a manager. Finally got transferred to a lovely woman who after 5 mins explaining the situation said they were talking crap and I was owed £84.
Wished her luck then hung up.
Cheque came in my married name (I've been divorced 4 years at this point AND they had a copy of my decree absolute AND returned it saying thanks for updating your name change)
Thank fuck the cashier at the bank understood virgin and let me pay it in.

thisonebreath · 25/08/2018 11:07

TalkTalk for their absolute shite customer service. It was ten years ago and I still bitch about it. I cba to go into the tale of woe but I honestly would have had more joy banging my head against a wall - it was that painful dealing with them.

FluffyGlitterFlamingo · 25/08/2018 11:07

Sky - For charging us double subscription charge for 9 months.

British Gas - Also billing us twice on two different accounts for electric. The 2nd account shouldn't of even existed let alone racked up a huge bill. They used to constantly chases us for the money took us over 2 years to sort out before they closed the 2nd account.

Ford - The new car salesman treated me and DH like crap. I was looking to buy a year old car but fell in love with a brand new one. We were comparing 2 cars in the showroom at the time and he was so rude and made us feel so unwelcome and basically wanted us out the showroom. His loss as I'm going to wait a year and go to Ford Used cars instead as they were lovely in there.

TopBitchoftheWitches · 25/08/2018 11:08

NatWest. Appalling behaviour which has resulted in some compensation for me. Not a lot though.
Now I have a new account with a different bank.

BT because they refuse to change the account holders name from ex h to mine. This is the only company I have had an issue with in the last 4 years. Also I cannot get to speak to anyone about why they have been charging me for BT sport for the last 4 years when I don't have BT sport.
So frustrating and they owe me a lot of money.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 25/08/2018 11:13

Virgin Media

When the guy who came round to fix in cable tv harassed me they were not interested - until the police called them (who were very interested and supportive)

British Telecom it took four months to sort our a simple issue. I had moved informed them of all this before I did with new address - billing me for both addresses and for services that I cancelled. Calls to the call centre cost nearly £100 they gave me £50 as a way of saying thank you. By that time I was too fed up with it call to chase up the rest of the money

iTunes for deleting my playlists and replacing them with ones they thought I might like and downloading a U2 album onto my music list - I shall decide what music lists I want to listen to and do not like U2 - it really pissed me off and its manipulative

AnneElliott · 25/08/2018 11:20

Treat me - fir not paying their bills meaning I had to pay twice for a helicopter ride and claim back from them via my credit card.

Post office - for not giving a shit that the postie who scraped MILs car then verbally abused me ( I saw it) as "his manager says he wouldn't behave like that"

stoplickingthetelly · 25/08/2018 11:35

Currys. One of the very worst companies I have ever had to deal with! Dc2 was only a couple of months old so I did lots of christmas shopping online. I ordered a nespresso machine for dh. He'd wanted one for ages, but would feel extravagant buying in for himself (I don't drink coffee). It arrived in a terrible state, box and packaging very badly damaged. Can't believe it was sent out like this. Didn't know if machine was damaged, but didn't want to risk it. I called them and they said they would collect the machine and send out a replacement. They didn't have exactly the same, but something similar. They made it sound like this would be a quick and straightforward process. I agreed. They collected damaged machine, but would not send out my replacement until the damaged one had been processed in the wearhouse. They knew they had collected it and could see it had arrived in the wearhouse (I definitely didn't still have it), but point blank refused to send out the replacement one. When I asked how long that would be they said upto 6 weeks! Which would be after Christmas! They couldn't have been less helpful or disintetested if they tried. So they had both the machine and my money and I had no christmas present. In the end I had a refund and had to run around the shops like a looney the week before Christmas with a newborn trying to find a nespresso machine! I have never bought anything from them since and never will. They customer service was truly appalling.

BrokenWing · 25/08/2018 11:44

Another one for AO here. Ordered washing machine on 2 day delivery, dh booked day off work, got call 9pm night before to say machine had been damaged in transport and they are looking for a replacement. Fair enough, these things Halen. Got a call 2 days later to rearrange delivery, I took a day off work.

Got a call that morning to say machine had been damaged in transport Hmm and they couldn't deliver, told them that was the 2nd machine allegedly damaged in transport and although they didn't back down you could just tell they were lying through their teeth.

They tried to source a 3rd machine and surprisingly were out of stock (must be from their transport damaging all their machines).

Wouldnt buy from them again.

Talith · 25/08/2018 11:45

Argos a few years back for selling me a self assembly massive wardrobe which required multiple trips to carry the pieces up two flights if stairs (on my own and it was heavy), a dozen tools and a PhD in design mechanics to assemble (this part merely irritating), then the bastard drawers were just too small to fit the rails (the build was perfectly square and straight).

Then Argos said I could only get a refund if the wardrobe was on the ground floor for collection. It wouldn't fit through the bloody bedroom door at this point!

I swear they thought I'd just drop the issue but after a too and fro I grimly disassembled the whole pigging thing and brought the heavy pieces down one by one to make a pile for collection. Which they did in the end and I did get the refund. My blood pressure though....

Moral of the story. Argos Flatpack is the work of the devil.
