I'll start:

Ubereats for charging me nearly a tenner for some cold, rubbery food that they told me I couldn't have a refund for as 'tough luck' AngryAngry

o2 for refusing to replace a broken new phone (arrived broken), and then not accepting my complaint.

OP posts:

Argos for me as well. Ordered a wardrobe and it was damaged, ordered another and it was the same (had to take a day off each time for delivery and collection). Third time I insisted on inspecting it before it came inside, it was also damaged and I refused to accept it. Delivery driver screamed at me hat I wasn't allowed not to sign for it Hmm. Never again.

stabilo88 · 25/08/2018 11:56

Virgin Media. Beyond incompetent. We can’t wait to switch to Sky at the end of the contract. I have wasted hours and hours trying to get them to resolve THEIR errors. Angry

insancerre · 25/08/2018 11:57

BT
I will never ever use them again

UpstartCrow · 25/08/2018 12:04

Another vote for Virgin. Bad customer service, one of their agents actually laughed at me on the phone. And they keep putting the fucking price up.

Thinxx. For giving really bad advice on periods - there is no product that will last all day when you flood. And for erasing women and rewriting women's history.

TalkTalk and British Gas.

TalkTalk first.

Phone line and internet package.

Kept paying them, long after the rates went up and I was starting to look for cheaper alternatives.

Kept on with them during the information hacking scandal, all the while receiving emails 'updating' me about how they were responding and my details weren't hacked and everything was all good as far as I was concerned.

I eventually received an email thanking me for my loyalty and offering me a loyalty bonus as a "Thank you".

Chose a bonus to add on to my account, but was automatically turned down for it and the website told me to ring customer services.

Called customer services and after eventually getting through, asked for my account 'goody', to be told that my account was "too old".

Mine was a "legacy account" no longer offered to new customers and the best they could offer was £10 off my new account.

Hello Plusnet!!

After I left TalkTalk, the scam calls started.

My details were safe my arse!

British Gas. This one raises my blood pressure even 15 years later.

I bought a house which had previously tenanted by an absentee BTL landlord.

It had card meters for both gas and electricity, which I learned were set to pay off a debt incurred by a previous account holder.

Anyway. I bought the house and asked for bills in my name.

Water bill and council tax were no problem - they were notified of change of ownership straight away and billed me accordingly.

British Gas? No such luck.

Even though I called and faxed my details through, they sent me new gas and electricity cards in the name of the previous account holder.

The gas card was eventually changed, however the electricity card took another two months to sort out.

I had to rent in lodgings for three extra months, while these morons refused to accept I wasn't the previous tenants.

I was calling Indian call centres and being addressed by the tenants' name and being called a liar.

I complained through their offical complaints procedure and made progress at glacial speed.

It was eventually sorted, but even then, they not only misspelt my name, but refused me compensation for the two months rent I had to pay while I was waiting for them to sort out the power.

Cunts.

backaftera2yearbreak · 25/08/2018 12:09

Scotrail. There are not enough words to describe my hatred for them!

Curlyshabtree · 25/08/2018 12:17

Virgin Mobile! Took 2 months to get onto a SIM only deal, countless calls to rude staff, some who hung up on me. . It was almost comical, I persevered at it was a good deal but it nearly broke me.

AlbertaSimmons · 25/08/2018 12:21

Daisy Communications. My contract runs out in January. I have been a customer for at least 20 years, but they couldn't pay me to stay with them now. I'm literally counting the days. Robbing bastards.

FabulousTomatoes · 25/08/2018 12:27

Talk Talk for putting me through hours and hours on the phone as I tried to figure out why my broadband kept dropping. It wasn’t their fault of course, it was the line’s fault, it was the exchange’s fault, it was Mrs Brown who lives down the road’s fault... well I’ve just changed Broadband supplier and so far it’s been brill. However, I’ve just noticed that Vodafone have me lined up to pay twice for my first bill this month, which wasn’t in my contract or made aware to me when I signed up so they could be next on my shit list...

cricketmum84 · 25/08/2018 12:28

Talk talk - my DH phoned about a strange charge on our sons phone bill that turned out to be in error. The call handler who sounded like a pre teen boy said to him "oh well aren't you a clever boy" in the most sarcastic voice ever. I was fuming for him!!

ChoudeBruxelles · 25/08/2018 12:28

Lush for their recent anti police campaign

cricketmum84 · 25/08/2018 12:32

Oh yes iTunes!!! I will never forgive them for forcibly downloading that pile of shit U2 album to my phone!!

Timeoftheseason · 25/08/2018 12:34

Waltons sheds. I have another thread about them but crap communication, don't do what they are supposed to and customers are an inconvenience.

Mosret · 25/08/2018 12:37

Sky.
I was simply trying to set up an account with them but the idiot on the phone didn't seem to be able to do his job. After about an hour he said "I'm so sorry I've just deleted your account so we'll have to start again". So we did. Then he got to the end and said "I can't seem to save it as it thinks you already have an account with us". Then he cut me off by mistake Confused
I rang back and was put on hold for ages. Then the automated message said "the line is now closed".
Tried again the following day and kept being put on hold for ages and then getting passed around from person to person as they couldn't figure out why we now seemed to have 2 accounts. I had to keep explaining over and over about how the guy had set up the account twice.
This went on every evening for an entire 2 weeks. When we finally got set up there were a couple of issues and I literally could not physically bring myself to call them for a few months after, and just put up with the issues.

Penninepain · 25/08/2018 12:53

Teeth grind? No, nowhere close. Plotting the most painful deaths possible? Yes.

We had a £20k+ garden room/conservatory built this time last year. Wont bore you with everything that went wrong during the build, but we ended up with a floor that is so unlevel you could feel seasick (floor fitter was a miracle worker and bodged together a decent enough floor).

A year later we have 4 leaks. Not new leaks, oh no, these are leaks that have been happening for fecking months. We got one mended (replaced a munton bar), but the other seven need replacing. Will the bastards do it? Will they buggery.

They were due to come a month ago. It rained in the morning. For 30 minutes. So they cancelled. Were they busy doing other stuff? No, apparently not, but they are busy every single day between the beginning of August and beginning of Sept.

We have towels and buckets everywhere when it rains. If we are out and it starts raining it is a race against time to get back and put everything in place.
We have cancelled a bloody holiday so that they can come on Sept 1st. But, if it rains, they have no back up plans. The next date could be a month away. I cant go through winter like this, i will have a bloody breakdown.

And they could not give a toss. Really could not. I hate them.

sparklepops123 · 25/08/2018 12:57

Virgin media- the bill goes up EVERY year without fail. Halfords rip off merchants

MargaretDribble · 25/08/2018 13:01

DynoRod
I rang them at around 2pm because water was coming out of a manhole cover on our property. Told the engineer would be there by 6pm, and would phone when he was on his way.
6.45 no engineer, no phone call. Rang again. Yes, the job was still on the sheet and would go on to the next shift. They would be there by 9.pm.
9.45 pm. No engineer, no phone call. Rang again. Yes, definitely still coming. Operator said she would ring him to see where he was. He didn't pick up. Don't worry, she said, he is definitely coming, his name is J* and he will be with you very shortly.
11.45pm, no engineer, no phone call. Rang again. No, I am really sorry but J* went off duty at 6pm. He didn't ring you because the first person you spoke to missed a digit from your phone number. I will make sure your details are correct and put you down for a morning appointment tomorrow.😱
To say I was cross is an understatement. So basically Operator number 1 got my phone number wrong, and numbers 2 and 3 gave me incorrect information and I wasted 10 hours waiting for something that was never going to happen.
J* eventually arrived at 9.20 the following day.
Guess who DynoRod are insured under - British Gas.

AsleepAllDay · 25/08/2018 13:11

Lloyds Bank for the matey manager who opened my account, the constant promises I could get a contactless card (I couldn't because it was a basic account - thanks for nothing), sending a card by post and then cancelling it so I could get the contactless one, making me wait for the pin etc

Eventually I got so fed up I switched to Nationwide who have been lovely, sending replacement cards quickly, offering an overdraft, good service from the international line and so on

I know all banks are bastards but I do hate Lloyds for their cock ups and NatWest also for refusing to open my account!

piefacedClique · 25/08/2018 13:13

Car phone warehouse! Absolute crunts!

accidentallandlord · 25/08/2018 13:21

Oh God Tiscali (now Talk Talk).

I once told the overseas operator I'd like to speak to a manager. She told me all the managers were in a meeting. I told her I would wait. She said they were in a meeting all day. I said I would wait. She then said "the meeting will never end"! Then tried to tell me there weren't any managers.

I eventually threatened to take my kitchen waste to them at their London HQ and eventually my contract was cancelled.

They were an absolute shit show.

Spudina · 25/08/2018 13:27

Sports Direct. Dodgy as fuck.

MilkItTilITurnItIntoCheese · 25/08/2018 14:01

DH had a faulty iPhone X. Apple were appalling. Apparently once a fault has be raised with the engineers no-one is allowed to actually speak to the engineers and there is no way to find out progress on the problem. You basically have to wait until they decide they need more info and then wait again and again. Went on for weeks. Eventually O2 shop swapped the phone as they took pity on him (refused at first as hardware issue - well maybe anyway we never did find out). Funnily enough dh has just ordered a Samsung phone for his new work phone. We have had iPhones since the originals. Poor customer service.

Don’t even get me started on British Gas. Or Southern Railways

MardyBra · 25/08/2018 14:08

WEtherspoons, Dyson, Patisserie Valerie, Timpson and any other bastarding Brexit supporting companies.

GloGirl · 25/08/2018 14:41

Accidentallandlord

That exact conversation happened to me after about 30 minutes of wranglinh! But I insisted on speaking to a manager, was put on hold for a further 40 minutes and then told they'd all gone home.

They really were the pits.

toastfiend · 25/08/2018 14:44

Scottish Power for wrongly debiting our account, sending us an enormous bill after we had already switched supplier and then taking hours of wrangling on the phone before it could be resolved. Also never hit our last name right in communications with us, despite us correcting them. We had 4 different variations, all incorrect. Hmm

BT, we're tied into using them but they are an utter shit show where the different arms don't communicate with each other at all, the customer is never contacted with updates and when you do get to talk to someone they're rude and unhelpful. Despite everything being set up and prepared, because OpenReach hadn't pressed the final button we ended up without Internet to our new build house for months and then weren't even made aware when we did have the ability due to their lack of communication.

Avis, having landed very late at night they hadn't honoured a benefit we were meant to receive with our car hire booking, charged us for it and then made us go through British Airways to sort it, which is still ongoing. Fortunately BA have been fantastically helpful. Not only that but the Avis representative I spoke to was exceptionally rude and then told me he was doing me a favour even being there because our flight was a late night one and he wanted to go home. Hmm
