Oh goodness, I am not sure I need to find anymore conveniently located chocolate emporia! I ordered from lovecocoa and awaiting with interest!

CatchEmAll · 30/08/2018 17:52

Ahhh I spoke too soon! I went over to the shop and they don't sell it, only this disgusting chocolate called "Raw" which is made from coconut sugar. Didn't seem very interested in love cocoa Sad

I am going to email love cocoa so they take it off their website as stockists.

CatchEmAll · 30/08/2018 18:23

Also whoever said flakes have not changed, well I can confirm they have and they taste awful Sad

jigsawpiece · 30/08/2018 22:32

I spotted Montezuma chocolate in Sainsbury's the other day. First time I've seen it outside their dedicated Montezuma shops.

Mominatrix · 31/08/2018 09:25

they are also sold on the Ocado site

PerverseConverse · 31/08/2018 09:37

I can't wait to get my "chocolate gift" from Montezumas. They are sending me some more buttons and a chocolate gift because my big jar of buttons had a big empty gap at the bottom. I'll let my mum have the gift though as she's in hospital. I love companies with great customer service Smile

PerverseConverse · 01/09/2018 13:04

Wow! Look what Montezumas sent me!!!

What the fuck have they done to chocolate?
Pippylou · 01/09/2018 13:46

Blimey, now that is good!

TheSassyAssassin · 01/09/2018 17:38

Choc party at yours then Perverse Wink Been away on hols but back now and just tried the LC dark choc avocado bar... it was ok and lovely dark choc taste though didn't get much avocado (though only 5% freeze dried pulp apparently). Not sure what I was expecting mind. The texture was quite crumbly which I wasn't so keen on. Prefer the sea salt one to this. Still got the English Mint one to try...

Another vote for the Love Cocoa dark chocolate with sea salt. It is unusual and really nice, and I’m not usually a fan of dark chocolate.

00100001 · 01/09/2018 21:40

I saw Montezuma in a Waitrose the other day.

Resisted buying it, as we still have around 8 bars of chocolate to eat....

I just bought a pack of the montezuma milk buttons, in my opinion they are even better than the love cocoa bars, so thank you to all those that recommended them. I'm going to buy myself the huge jar of them from John Lewis for Christmas.

PerverseConverse · 01/09/2018 22:52

@CanYouHearThat they are my favourite. I think they are perfect. My dd2 (9) didn't realise I'd bought the jar for Christmas (had to add £20 to my John Lewis basket to get free delivery) and opened them much to my horror. When I pointed out the price and the fact they were for Christmas she was really upset and cried Sad I did shout though as no way I'd spent that much on chocolate normally (bar research of course!). Luckily they won't go off once opened. Although the danger is that now they are open they'll get eaten. I'll have to hide them in the Christmas chocolate drawer (the drawer under my bed).
I'm so impressed with the gifts from Montezumas. My eldest was speechless at the amount of freebies.
This thread makes me so happy Smile

littlebillie · 02/09/2018 00:05

"Milk" has gone I only eat dark now as it can't be corrupted too much

ClaireFraser · 02/09/2018 04:22

@TheSassyAssassin looking at your photo of the avocado chocolate, I would say the chocolate has got warm somewhere along the way which will have caused that white bloom on it, and bewhy it has a crumbly texture instead of melty.

I bought the ALDI Choceur milk chocolate raisin and hazelnut a few days ago. No palm oil and tastes just like I remember Cadbury's fruit and nut used to!

Also sampled Montezuma (found in Waitrose) dark choc, and dark choc with cacao nibs - delicious!

TheSassyAssassin · 02/09/2018 09:03

Ah, thanks Claire. I guess that's the perils of ordering online. My first order was absolutely fine. Hoping the mint one isn't the same when I get round to opening it...

BackinTimeforTea · 02/09/2018 09:07

Amazon has a bulk montezuma button offer I happened to notice!

LemonRedwood · 02/09/2018 09:16

For the bakers among us, I often use this bulk buy on amazon to stock up on Belgian chocolate. Callets are easier to work with than bars and I much prefer this to any cooking chocolate.

www.amazon.co.uk/Callebaut-White-chocolate-chips-Bundle/dp/B01B6G5D58/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?psc=1&keywords=Callebaut&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1535875957&sr=8-1-spons

Also handy for quick snacks when no one else is looking and DH doesn't touch it cos I keep it in the bakey-cakey cupboard

CanYouHearThat · 02/09/2018 09:18

backintime i ❤️ you, just ordered 6 packs for £18.50, just over £3/bag. This thread is no good for my bank balance or waistline!

BackinTimeforTea · 02/09/2018 09:26

I hear you canyouhearthat! Good thread though!

BackinTimeforTea · 02/09/2018 09:38

lemonredwood thanks for the callebaut link, I was out of chocolate chips - not for much longer though!

Allegorical · 02/09/2018 12:49

Ok so got my love cocoa order.
It’s ok. No white bloom. The milk chocolate is nice but a bit bland. The orange a bit artificial. I was expecting a burst of flavour with this. Sadly not.
The coffe one I like. Coffe bits on the underside. Quite strong.
The honey one was my fave for a sweet tooth treat.
I found the texture a bit disappointing. Doesn’t melt on the mouth quickly which is what you want with milk.
Overall I was a bit disappointed considering the cost.
I can’t comment on the dark I didn’t order any. I know that milk isn’t exactly chocolate for the conosseur.
It’s a shame they don’t do a stronger milk with a higher cocoa content for those that like a stronger flavour but not the bitterness of dark choc.
My fave was always the green and blacks milk choc with the higher cocoa content.

Need to keep looking for a choc to fall in love with.

Incidently dh came back with some
Ikea milk which was nice, similar to this but a lot cheaper. No palm oil on the ingredients list.

PerverseConverse · 02/09/2018 13:05

@Allegorical you might find the Montezumas buttons the perfect ones or you. They have a stronger taste but no bitterness.

BackinTimeforTea · 02/09/2018 15:37

I love G&B milk chocolate, that and the waitrose are two of the best - my LC order arriving tomorrow though!

G&B on offer in waitrose in their save 1/3 event...I should have been a chocolate salesperson.

TheSassyAssassin · 02/09/2018 16:16

So tried the English Mint LC bar earlier. Slight bloom to this one I think but not as bad as the avocado one, so texture was still a little on the crumbly side but not as bad as the previous bar. The smell was lovely and the mint taste was really nice. Whilst it wasn't overpowering on eating, it has left a rather nice refreshing after taste too. Like this one! Smile
