A song that really touched your soul?

I just stumbled upon a song on youtube for the first time and it made me feel so many emotions that i just cant explain.

The song was 'sailing' by Christopher Cross.

Black by Pearl Jam, especially love the unplugged version

So many Counting Crows songs give me the chills

ForalltheSaints · 16/08/2018 21:09

Some Fantastic Place by Squeeze. Both on record and the first time I heard it played live (at a Glenn Tilbrook gig), where all the audience were silent listening.

Toni Braxton's How Could An Angel Break My Heart is pretty breathtaking too. Such beautiful lyrics for such a sad song.

And of course R Kelly's I Admit It is utterly gobsmacking.

Some great ones on here, am off to dig out the Counting Crows live album. Dark Roman Wine is incredible, it always makes me feel like something amazing is about to happen, just a lovely piece of music.

The most recent one for me was Phoebe Bridgers' Funeral. I got the album for Christmas, naively stuck it on in the car on the way to the shops and wound up sobbing in the Sainsbury's carpark while my two year old looked on bemused. Blush

Toni Braxton - Rollercoaster

Sade - No Ordinary Love

I love Sailing too. I also love Cyndi Lauper’s True Colours.

Perfect Day by Lou Read. Was playing on the hospital radio as I came back from delivery following a stillbirth. Still takes my breath away with memories.

LARLARLAND · 16/08/2018 21:20

Oh and Amy Stewart’s Take Me To The Top.

'The first time that ever I saw your face' probably by Roberta Flack. That's got a real stop and listen quality to it.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 16/08/2018 21:32

Will Young - Love is a Matter of Distance

I'm Here, from The Colour Purple. Sung by Cynthia Erivo. Her voice is just perfection and this performance is everything

Ruined in a day and Run Wild, both by New Order, last one reminds me of seeing the sunrise, after being up all night whilst having a bad time as a new mum

Also love Philadelphia.

MaggiePhilbinsSwapShop · 16/08/2018 21:39

So many already mentioned on here. My MIL introduced me to Streets of London by Ralph McTell a couple of years ago. We both sat sobbing listening to it

GreenRut · 16/08/2018 21:41

larlarland was just coming on to say the same. Sweet sixteen gets me every time.

LoveMySituation · 16/08/2018 21:41

But listening to it now, after many years have passed, the song actually makes me feel like it happened to a different person
