Seeing as the Sherlock discussions are dying down I thoguth I'd start a new thread for all the BC fans out there - judging by the number of MNers with him on their "List", he surely deserves his own thread.

So here it is: a place to share videos, pictures, articles and whatever else you want. The only thing I'll say is that I'd appreciate it if no one posted a link to the video(s) of BC dancing at a wedding. Apparently it was stolen from his ex girlfriend and is the cause of much upset. So lets be respectful. Otherwise, anything goes

I'll get us started with some personal favourites:

AT would be counted as Ballroom, though it is not technically recognised by either group, but as a dance in its own right.

I agree, it's very sexy! I had some AT lessons a few years ago - was much fun! I stick to my Latin and Ballroom these days though.

If I danced an AT it would be to the song used in the Richard Gere/JLo film "Shall We Dance". It's by The Gotan Project and is called something like "Santa Maria".

If you haven't heard it search You Tube for "Shall We Dance Tango". Another fab Tango scene is from the film "Take The Lead". It's also on You Tube and features Antonio Banderas and a bleach-blonde Katya Virshilas (from Strictly).

BC is starring in Parade's End for BBC2 later this year; can't remember the book that well but it may feature tails . Surely it will feature SOME kind of period eveningwear. .

Gah can't believe I have only just come across this thread! Started at the beginning but realised that if I was going to click on EVERY youtube link ds would be left to rot in squaller . I have been in love with BC since the first series of Sherlock but haven't seen him in anything else yet.

The boys have gone to XHs for the weekend so I am sat on the sofa eating ice cream and watching Sherlock.

Welcome petty. Unfortunately you can't download the message alerts, you have to create them yourself. There are websites that will do it for you (though might charge) but if you have an iPhone it's pretty easy. I posted the technique somewhere back in this thread.

His posture definitely lends itself to period wear, though to be honest I'd take him whatever he was wearing!

the police station in sherlock 2 was filmed in my dh's office but all the daft bugger could talk about was how martin freeman wasn't there. He failed to notice BC and report back on his every movement. GRRRRR. Gutted that they didn't film much in Cardiff this time. Maybe series 3 and then I can do some stalking?

My FIL to be had a great moan about Sherlock before I got into it. They were filing somewhere and he had to go a long way round to get to where he was going.

They live near Bristol and I am tempted to see if I can visit when series 3 is filmed

I watched tinker tailor soldier spy last night. Was a bit disappointed by the film (I k ow the book so got ok at the lack of clear plot, but dh was totally lost!!) and they had brushed BC's fringe totally flat! He needed me there to gently sweep it to one side

Our quickstep is "National Express" by The Divine Comedy. BC in tails .... and then later out of them.

Go is a beautiful song, but I don't think it would work for an AT. Tango needs a bit of drive, almost menace, behind it.

Look at the two scenes I mentioned up thread on You Tube. A good piece of Tango music should make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end!
