I totally agree with Massive, you sound like an amazing DIL!

Mmm, takeaway for tea, yum. What will you have? #livingvicariously

The kids had McDonalds as a treat for lunch and I had an egg sandwich on W'Watchers air bread :( Still, I can almost, almost fit into my next size down jeans, whoop whoop! We'll just ignore the fact that my mum bought them for me last Christmas when I was about 3 lbs away from fitting into them and I've been over a stone and back in the year since then :)

SupermassiveLBD · 30/11/2011 16:17

Do I whisper about my takeaway or PM you Twigs? i am loth to torment you when you are doing so well on your diet.

Very well done.

Its pizza. and what's worse, they have a BOGOF offer going

PassTheTwiglets · 30/11/2011 16:25

Yeah, well it's not that great - said next size down jeans are still two sizes bigger than what I should be :o

SupermassiveLBD · 30/11/2011 16:34

Still, you are going in the right direction, Twigs.

TheSmallPrint · 30/11/2011 16:42

I wish I was, I am a lump right now, take awy seems to be my staple diet at the mo so it's not helping my normally svelte figure.

PassTheTwiglets · 30/11/2011 17:09

I think you look fab though, Small. I don't mean to make light of it because if you're not happy yourself then someone else coming along and saying "oh but you look fine!" isn't helpful, I know. Well, I don't know, as that's never happened to me, but I imagine it's not helpful :o

TheSmallPrint · 30/11/2011 17:16

Thank you Twigs Grin I was joking about the normally svelte figure btw! I think I just know far too many petite people who make me feel like an enormous clumpy elephant.

TheSmallPrint · 30/11/2011 17:17

and very well done on getting so close to the next size down jeans Envy

DumSpiroSpero · 30/11/2011 17:26

Well take heart - you're all slimmer than me (although I did lose 2lb last week - probably gone back on by now).

I really should be more committed to doing something about it but am just too either too busy, stressed or tired tba at the moment.

I cracked open Zumba for the Wii last Thursday which was great and after 6 months break I got 'zumba pro' for my first try! Grin Then I stabbed my toe badly on concrete step on Saturday and whole thing is now purple & only just moving again - so that's proper exercise out for a couple of weeks and then it's Christmas.

I like to think the Man really meant it when he confessed to having a crush on Dawn French! Wink

LadyDamerel · 30/11/2011 17:28

Sending much love through the ether for the next couple of days, Vampy. I hope MIL hangs on long enough to see BIL and the new grandson.

Twigs, very well done on the weight loss. I am nearly fitting into my next size up jeans which is a very depressing scenario. ::yoyo dieter emoticon::

Forgot to post this calorie free treat!

SupermassiveLBD · 30/11/2011 17:57

Yum, Spiro!

LadyDamerel · 30/11/2011 18:22

Now if they doled out treats like that at Weight Watchers I might be more inclined to do it!

::Offers Vampy a glass of Wine::

So sorry to hear the latest about MiL. Here's hoping that she gets to see your BiL and the baby. As others have said, having read the vitriol that some MNers heap on their MiLs, it's lovely to hear you being so affectionate and kind towards yours.

VictorianChristmasVamp · 30/11/2011 20:01

Thanks ladies. Been waned she may not last the night so I'm staying out here in the hospice with FIL and 90- year old grandmother by MIL bedside. Neighbours are having children and dog and the colonel is on his way here now - should be here by 9pm. Nurses are not optimistic that she'll make tomorrow and seeing BIL thoSad

Been talking gibberish all day to keep everyone going but getting tired now!! Smile. So thanks for Wine. Had a glass earlier to toast her when knew wasn't driving!

Come on col mum hang on 12 hours. Smile

SupermassiveLBD · 30/11/2011 20:45

Oh, Vampy here's Wine for everyone.

We are all thinking of you and them, I know.

LadyDamerel · 30/11/2011 20:59

Oh Vampy, I'm so sorry. Please look after yourself as well as everyone else though.

DumSpiroSpero · 30/11/2011 21:09

So sorry to hear your news Vampy - will be praying MC makes it through for BIL and her grandson.

Also second what Maud said. I'm one if the vitriolic Mumsnetters - you and your in-laws are clearly very, very fortunate to have each other.Smile

Sending you all big hugs.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/11/2011 21:29

Have you been able to snatch anything to eat, Vampy? Would you like a doughnut?

::Hopes this joke isn't hideously misplaced::

LadyDamerel · 30/11/2011 21:39

There's a Man with a cup of coffee here for you too.

In all seriousness, please make sure you are eating and drinking. Having spent 4 days at my Grandpa's bedside as he died, I know from experience how easy it is to run on adrenaline while everything is happening and then hit a wall when it's all over. Try and get some rest too if you can.

VictorianChristmasVamp · 30/11/2011 21:39

Thanks Maud!Smile. Don't mind if I do!! Could never resist grabbing one of Lucas' doughnuts!WinkSmile

VictorianChristmasVamp · 30/11/2011 21:42

Thanks too lady D!!

Managing to nip away for meals do far. Going to have to doze at some point tho I think! Worried about the colonel getting BIL but not too far from here luckily.

Smile
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/11/2011 21:45

Perhaps you need something more substantial. Fish and chips?

Does the hospice have a room for/beds for relatives? Do get some rest, even if it's only taking it in turns to nap.

SupermassiveLBD · 30/11/2011 21:46

I shall not mention getting your five a day portions of fruit, though Vampy.

Meanwhile here is Mr Thornton with the cup that cheers, for when you tire of coffee.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/11/2011 21:51

Massive is quite right. You do need your fruit and fibre.
