We have the joys of the Nativity tomorrow - MissD is a cowgirl and MasterD2 is a star. MasterD1's is in church next week sometime (I think, not totally sure of the date Blush) but it's more of a carol service with a small cast, afaik.

Thanks for the present Vampy! I think the tiredness you're experiencing is fairly common after a bereavement, I certainly had it and once it (and the numbness) wore off I had a really bad couple of weeks of being very tearful and borderline depressed which gradually eased after a while. I'm not saying you'll feel exactly the same but sometimes it helps to know what to expect Smile and [hugs].

Spiro, fabulous cards, I love the green, red and white christmas trees - they'd look great on a christmas cake!

VictorianChristmasVamp · 06/12/2011 20:30

What you selling twigs??

Having a horribly bleurgh moment girls - I suppose they'll keep hitting me from time to time.

Anyway, how is everyone else?Smile

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 20:34

Do you need distracting by something totally trivial, Vampy?

::Pauses at the door to the Bibliotheque::

VictorianChristmasVamp · 06/12/2011 20:37

Thanks Gizzy wish you really were gizzy!!

It is good to know that there is some reason for the tiredness - the colonel is being his usual unsympathetic self about my depression - off to the doctor tomorrow so may mention it then but hoping she'll change my HPs as fed up with side effects of these ones.

Vampgirl's show can't call is a nativity cos it's not!! was today, tomorrow and Friday. I'm going tomorrow. Vampboy's is next Tuesday. have to say MIL slotted in her death to the perfect time so kids haven't had to miss anything so far and shouldn't have to now as funeral is after the end of term! Very considerate of her ConfusedSadSmile

VictorianChristmasVamp · 06/12/2011 20:38

Yes please Maud!!

Off to mend a reindeer's neck but I'll be back!!Smile

WeWishYouAMerryGizzymas · 06/12/2011 20:49

It took several weeks for the 'wallop round the back of the head' moments to stop for me, Vampy. I'd be fine one minute then very much not fine the next. It's still such early days of all this for you - the funeral helps in a funny way because it draws a line under it. I found I couldn't accept he was gone until I saw him buried, even though I'd watched him die. I think it's just a matter of taking each day at a time at this point and trying not to expect too much of yourself - you've been through a lot and you need to allow yourself to grieve. How's the Colonel dealing with it all?

WeWishYouAMerryGizzymas · 06/12/2011 20:50

::looking forward to Maud's offering from the Bibliotheque::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 20:54

Do you like comics, Vampy? .

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 21:08

I haven't seen this one before. .

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 06/12/2011 21:11

Aw Vamps, sorry you are having a bad day. Whenever I'm feeling anxious or a bit panic-attacky I find that I get extremely tired and I think it's my body's way of trying to shut down and escape. So I wonder if it's something that - trying to protect you from the emotions you're feeling?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 21:19

Evening all!

Back from Christmas Fair - sold 16 cards and made 8 quid for charity so fairly successful.
Miss S has her nativity tomorrow. Due to a bunch of them being away tomorrow she is now narrator no 4 & 7 and will be wearing an all black ensemble of lwggings, vest top and shrug garnished with tinsel so no effort required thank goodness!

Vampy I think you need to take care of yourself & your family and just go with the flow in these early days. Although it's an especially horrible time of year to lose someone, the fact that the miniVamps have lots of normality going on can only be a good thing, and then you've got the chance to spend lots of time together healing and regrouping while you're away over Christmas. (Sorry that sounds a bit mystic happy but ykwim!)

Well that went spectacularly Pete Tong - probably not surprising as I'm running on about 2 hours sleep and a gallon or so of caffeine at the moment.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 06/12/2011 21:27

Quick dash in to send . to Vampy. You seem to be doing just great, but it takes time, and you just have to take your time. Best to the Colonel and BIL.

I had a quick look at the vid too. Thanks Maud, loved them, especially Harry the monster at the very end. Xmas Grin

Pouring last cuppas all round, now, here so hoping they will remember it's a workday tomorrow, hint hint.

WeWishYouAMerryGizzymas · 06/12/2011 21:48

Xmas Grin, did the kettle take a very long time to boil, Massive, or did you grind each coffee bean by hand to ensure the perfect taste?

Lovely new Harry treats there, Maud. I think this is Harry's time of year to shine, isn't it?

HarrysCuddlyChristmasJumper · 06/12/2011 21:52

::twirls::

Ooh, that's better. What do you think?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 21:53

This one is perhaps more suitable (although, on reflection, that hardly seems the word) for Massive and LadyD. . (I think we may have seen it before but it's good for a bit of pogoing around the parlour).

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 21:54

Lawks. So who is Harry'sJumper then?

::thoroughly confused now::

HarrysCuddlyChristmasJumper · 06/12/2011 22:10

::pogos with aplomb::

I forgot about the vocals at the start of it though but LordD didn't even flinch. I think he's accepted my addiction now.

::waits to see if Maud's worked it out yet::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 22:13

Ooh what a giveaway!

::Starting to worry about Vampy and her antler crisis::

HarrysCuddlyChristmasJumper · 06/12/2011 22:17

Subtle, wasn't it?

I'm feeling a bit itchy in it though - I need the apostrophe.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2011 22:19

Quite. I name-change quite often but cannot bear the thought of any name that ought to have punctuation.

::Am actually Lynne Truss::

VictorianChristmasVamp · 06/12/2011 22:36

Sorry got side-tracked by sorting out secret Santa for Christmas. Decided to do it with BIL, SIL and FIL and my siblings.

Reindeer neck is reattached but I doubt it will last very long!!

I shall look forward to Harry's jumperness tomorrow - on my phone and they were very stop starty!!

Thanks for your continued support - feels great knowing I have you all around me!! in the absence of an army of armitages!! Smile

Knight all.
Smile
