Evening, girls. Been v.busy weekend here so not really had time to check in. I did want to pop in to see how you are doing, Vampster, so sorry I didn't. But I have just offered to pay MissTwigs £1 to sit with Twigboy whilst he finishes his dinner (he won't sit by himself) so I have a spare half hour :)

Vampy, please don't apologise for 'going on' - firstly, you're not and secondly, as Massive said, it must help! I've never seen a dead person before, though my SIL was pretty close when I saw her. I can well imagine that it feels impossible to believe. How is the Colonel doing today?

Massive, not seen that pic of JP before - it was DIVINE.

Have STILL not had time to read SNT (I want to ensure no interruptions when I do!) but can't wait for school time tomorrow morning :)

Remember I told you all a while ago about buying Heston Blumenthal Christmas puddings and selling them on eBay? Well I've just made 100% profit with the first one :) Sadly they're not going for the £100+ that they did last year but still can't be bad. Had a bit of a result with TwigBoy's bed too. We bought it for about £75 a few years ago and I just sold it for double that! And it more than pays for the new bed which I've just ordered him. I didn't get the lovely cabin bed with all the storage - got him a basic plain one but I let him choose a new duvet - he chose an Octonauts one (sadly not Captain BaRnAcles, Vampy!) But quite how I am going to break it to him that his Thomas The Tank Engine bed is going, I have no idea... Confused

Took MssTwigs to see Horrid Henry this morning. Man oh MAN that is a bad film. Truly shocking. Then we made pomanders as part of our '24 Christmaasy Things To Do Advent Calendar' and that's about it!

What's everyone else been up to?

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 18:12

Well done with your eBaying, Twigs. Quite the little wheeler and dealer, aren't we? Cunning plan, too with the one pound Twigboy-sitting ploy

I don't think I'd pay all that money for a HB Christmas Pud. Especially as he is into such weird and wonderful recipes. I'd be afraid there would be something a little too unconventional about it. Presented in a coarse salt crust, maybe. (From the Dead Sea, naturally. Or Lake Titicaca.)

Spiro, can you tell Mary to make one for me, while she's at it? Xmas Wink

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 18:16

I wouldn't pay anything for ANY Christmas pud - I loathe the stuff! I love the flavours but am not really a fan of dried fruit. I'm thinking of crumbling a little bit of it into some good vanilla cie-cream and putting that in a mould and having a sort of ice-cream version of Christmas pudding. I'm usually so stuffed after Christmas lunch that I can't manage anything else anyway.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 18:30

I've seen a recipe for Christmas pud icecream somewhere. I seem to remember it had the spices and dried fruit folded into the vanilla.

Aha! This one from the BBC looks good

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 18:51

OH.... MY....GOD. The tinfoil hats are working overtime - that is seriously one of the weirdest coincidences ever

I am sitting here doing my Tesco shop and have pulled out my recipe folder with cut-out bits from magazines over the years. I was in the middle of ordering some ingredients for... THE VERY SAME RECIPE THAT YOU JUST LINKED ME TO!! I pulled that recipe out of the mag years ago1 I know we were talking about Xmas puds anyway, but what are the odds that you would link to the exact same recipe at the exact same time?!

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 19:10

I think our brains must have become irrevocably linked together by all the perving in-depth intellectual endeavor we have been conducting, Twigster! Xmas Blush

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 19:47

Anybody watch Antiques Roadshow? We don't but the one on in a few minutes is where we got married...

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 19:59

I used to love that, Twigs. It was the something for nothing element that grabbed me I think - your old junk suddenly worth megabucks.

Sadly we don't get it any more.

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 20:24

Grrrrrrrrr Angry

Well to make up for my eBay goodness I've just had some eBay badness. I have listed all MissTwigs' old princess outfits that usually sell for £mega and I got less than £2 each for them!!! And one buyer was from Germany when I've clearly said I post to UK only... grrrr.... Angry

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 20:34

Can't you set a minimum price Twigs? And surely if the buyer doesn't read the t&c, the deal is not valid?

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 20:42

You can set a minimum price, yes, but it is often better to let it start at a low price. I've had items that I've started at £10 and they haven't sold at all, so I've relisted at 99p start and they've gone for £15... Some things sell better as a low-start auction and some sell better as a minimum price or a fixed 'Buy It Now' price. It's all about knowing your market.... #Delboy

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 20:44

Will you accept £10 now? asks someone a few days ago.. Oh no, it's bound to go for more than that, I'll let the auction run its course thinks I. Just sold for £5.50... Angry

Sorry, I will shut up about eBay in a minute :)

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 20:45

Sounds too complicated for inumerate Massive! Grin

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 04/12/2011 21:42

Evening ladies, wassup?

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 21:49

You been indulging in a little plain and fancy retail thrapy then, SNT?

Have you found out where we can get one of those machines, yet?

VictorianChristmasVamp · 04/12/2011 21:56

Popping in to say bitey knight to one and all. I'm shattered beyond belief. Got two clients tomorrow. So tempted to cancel them just to get back on top of everything but that's £60 I'm turning down. Ones an evening client and the colonel is working late tues to thurs so think I'll see if she can postpone but still do my daytime client - or else I'll be tempted to not do anything constructive tomorrow!

Still loving my porter photo Massive - thank you!!

What you buy SNT? Anything for me?!WinkGrin

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 22:01

A pleasure, Vamps. Cos I got to look at him too Take care and sweet dReAms.

Damn kids have finally given me the lurgy they've been passing between them for the last couple of weeks. Add that to 2 nights out drinking this weekend Blush and you get a very poorly LadyD. ::blatant beg for sympathy::

Vampy, glad you're doing okay and the LittleVamps are enjoying having their cousins around. Have you

IWantSantasNewToyInMyStocking · 04/12/2011 22:02

Ive looked in every shop and can't find it anywhere, so I've bought you all something cheap and nasty a lovely treat each which you will get on Christmas Eve. Honest.

Vamps take the work, it's money and distracting!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/12/2011 22:15

::staggers in::

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 04/12/2011 22:16

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 04/12/2011 22:16

Hi Maud - how goes it?

GoldFrankincenseAndTwiglets · 04/12/2011 22:17

Aw, feel better soon LadyD. I am the same - they've had it for a week here and I've been fine but am suddenly all bleurgh and achy and sneezy.

SuperXmassiveLBD · 04/12/2011 22:18

Poor Merry. I expect you need the doctor , don't you?

He's got it written on his shoulder too, so there won't be any mistake

WeWishYouAMerryGizzymas · 04/12/2011 22:20
