Mmm, certain amount of Gizzy-ness here.

LadyDamerel · 31/08/2011 22:36

Never had the gizzard connection, Twigs - until now!

SupermassiveLBD · 31/08/2011 22:37

A vote here for numbers two and three, Twigs. Tres Gisbornien.

LadyDamerel · 31/08/2011 22:39

This one just makes me think of David Tennant.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/08/2011 22:42

::Looks back at you again::

That's Flat Stanley, LadyD. I was urging Twiggy only recently to buy Flat Stanley for MasterTwigs so that he could Watch With Mother While She Swoons Over The Telly.

Yes, I think we should call him Guy. Perhaps we ought to pronounce it Gee in the French stylee?

Really off to bed now as Mr Thornton is looking particularly fetching in the floppy white nightshirt.

PassTheTwiglets · 31/08/2011 22:46

WHAT?!?! The Man reads Flat Stanley?! Hahaha, that completely passed me by - Maud, I thought you were just naming a random book that Girl enjoyed at that age, I had no idea it was a bedtime story! I should have realised :) I haven't actually seen any of the stories as the video is so awful but I do know the screencaps almost off by heart :)

You know, that night when we were putting captions to the Bedtime Story screencaps was one of the most fun nights I've had in years [no life emoticon]. I still sometimes look at them now when I'm in need of a giggle!

I'm really off to bed, too. Night night!

LadyDamerel · 31/08/2011 22:47

There is a small, nay, tiny chance that I have perused the CBeebies Archives on more than one occasion but I couldn't tell you which voice or accent each character has, oh no

Although, why do Flat Stanley and his brother have Liverpudlian accents while their parents are distinctly Brummie?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/08/2011 22:50

::Looks blearily back at you::

Nah, Twiggy, that was the point of me musing about the age at which Girl liked Flat Stanley and TwigBoy's age now. In hindsight, it's quite likely that Girl and I watched the thing at the time, as she has been a telly addict since she first learned how to switch the darned thing on.

Where are those screen caps?

::still enjoy laughing at my own jokes (well nobody else does) emoticon::

LadyDamerel · 31/08/2011 22:52
.

There is only the one vid of it on there and the picture quality is dreadful but I find listening to it as an audiobook is perfectly adequate.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/08/2011 22:52

Not the screen caps but the captions, I mean.

::In bed now::

LadyDamerel · 31/08/2011 22:54

Just for Maud.

::excessively helpful::

::really must go to bed::

Night all.

LadyDamerel · 31/08/2011 22:56

::grasps completely the wrong end of Maud's joke stick::

::really, truly, definitely going to bed now::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/08/2011 22:57

::still in bed::

Yes, I know where to find that invaluable database of audio-visual reference materials - I was wondering where Twiggy had stashed the sid-splittingly funny captions we added to them.

::haven't been out much recently emoticon::

PassTheTwiglets · 31/08/2011 23:03

CBeebies captions! Not sure if the links still workas I ahven't looked for a while...

PassTheTwiglets · 31/08/2011 23:05

Yep, they still work - I see we linked to this one quite a lot :o

SupermassiveLBD · 31/08/2011 23:27

My post from way back got eaten! Or did MN deem it unworthy of incusion?

I don't wanna call him Guy, I don't wanna! That's what the Stupid Girl calls him. Mind you, Gizzy is what the Sheriff calls him. Confused

DumSpiroSpero · 01/09/2011 10:00

Was just about to get on things when I saw this on Twitter, which just had to be shared.

THUD!

Her album has a certain recognisable theme does it not? Grin

Nice start to my day. Thanks Spiro.

(N.B. I have been up a bit, honest, guv. I just don't count all the grot I've been dealing with earlier as part of my day)

DumSpiroSpero · 01/09/2011 10:20

I've been up since 6.30am. Haven't quite managed to do anything constructive or get dressed yet Blush...well, it is the last day of hols.

SupermassiveLBD · 01/09/2011 10:21

In return, a little something I picked up on my interweb travels

PassTheTwiglets · 01/09/2011 10:32

Last day, Spiro? Hope you have a good one! We go back next Wednesday. I'm half looking forward to it and half dreading it - I'm just getting into the swing of it, now that it's almost over :)

LadyDamerel · 01/09/2011 10:36

Snap!

Well, I'm in the process of getting dressed very slowly. MNing and FBing and odd forays into the Bibliotheque are decidedly hindering progress Grin.

Off to a Maize Maze later. If I haven't reappeared by about 9pm will one of you call Search and Rescue or contact the farmer.

DumSpiroSpero · 01/09/2011 10:40

Last day for me & Mr S. DD is back next Tuesday.

You'd think 6 weeks off would get boring but tbh I'm dreading having to get back into a routine and start fitting in all the chores around everything else again.

I cannot understand people who say they'd carry on working if they won the lottery. If my numbers came up I wouldn't even do my own housework!

Did you look at the rest of the gallery on that site, Massive?

This one's great.
