I'm feeling okish when the Motilium is doing it's thang but every few hours I have a slump and go all shaky and weird :( MissTwigs was fine, thanks!

fizzy pop is something my nan used to say, so I assumed it was a genrational thing but it's obviously a regional thing!

Just watch penultimate ep of RH2 - ah bless, RA had a cold in that one, you could hear it in his voice :)

DumSpiroSpero · 07/09/2011 19:28

I haven't heard any more as yet so hopefully no news is good news.

::staggers in::

Just seen my first trailer for this season's Spooks. That calls for a minute's respectful silence for those who are gone but not forgotten.

Right. How about we start the party at about 9pm?

::Goes off to iron her best crinoline::

DumSpiroSpero · 07/09/2011 20:42

Will be with you about half 9 Maudie.

Crisis now over (at least as far as anything I can do goes).

Cool. I'll be here.

::knocks on door::

I 'ad an invitation to a party for Miss Margret.

Is she 'ere?

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:14

::necks 2 glasses::

Well, there's nowt else to do.

PassTheTwiglets · 07/09/2011 21:16

Hello Bessie! Margaret was here but it's funny - Maud took her for a tour of the house and we haven't seen Margaret since. Tis a most perplexing mystery.

Now then, Maudy. I am so sorry but I can't stay tonight (feeling really rough now and need bed - am SO sorry). But I have a little birthday present for you, below. Hope you have a lovely party!

With apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning...

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling [[http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/nands/album/episode4/slides/ns4-226.html
out of sight]]
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and [[http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/nands/album/episode2/slides/ns2-075.html
candle-light]].
I love thee freely, as men [[http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/nands/album/episode2/slides/ns2-175.html
strive for Right]];
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a [[http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/nands/album/episode4/slides/ns4-336.html
passion]] put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
[[http://www.richardarmitagenet.com/images/gallery/nands/album/episode2/slides/ns2-122.html
Smiles]], tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

My dear Miss Higgins, please accept my apologies for being so tardy in arriving at the party. I was unavoidably detained by a small person riot. Would you care for a ratafia biscuit? You are looking a little peaky and it may be a restorative.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/09/2011 21:24

Twigs, while we are waiting for Maud to lock Margaret in the cupboard come back, may I say that was inspired? The candlelight pic was my very favourite.
So sorry you are feeling bad. Sad I hope you have a peaceful night and wake up tomorrow as right as rain.

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:24

Eh? Ratafia? What's tha' then?

I like a nice bit o' fruit, though.

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:25

That poem were reet good, Twigs.

I 'ope you feel a bit better tomorrer.

::struggling to sustain Yorkshire accent::

TheSmoulderingMrThornton · 07/09/2011 21:27

That is so kind of you, Massive. I am sure that Maud - with whom I have a very deep spiritual bond and with whom I need no mere words to communicate - will adore the roses.

And, Twiggy, dear, sweet Maud is touched by the sheer beauty of your gift. In fact, she was so overwhelmed that she threw her arms around my neck and sighed into my broad and manly chest. I do hope you will feel better tomorrow.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/09/2011 21:30

Good evening, dearest Mr Thornton. I have a small gift for you, too. I wouldn't want you to feel left out.

I hasten to say I present it as an amusing luxury. No aspersions on your personal grooming are intended as we adore your stubble anyway

TheSmoulderingMrThornton · 07/09/2011 21:30

I am so sorry, Massive. I omitted to compliment you on your very fetching gown, although it is perhaps not best suited to the climes of Milton-Northern.

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:31

::goes for a wander::

Nice curtains they've got 'ere. Much better'n ours.

TheSmoulderingMrThornton · 07/09/2011 21:33

What a charming and thoughtful gift, Massive. I do like to look my best at parties such as this.

TheSmoulderingMrThornton · 07/09/2011 21:35

Indeed, Bessy, we have the most modern furnishings here and even a gilded teaset.

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:37

I prefer the red cravat, meself.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/09/2011 21:40

Many thanks for your concern, dearest Johnny Mr Thornton, but i have ways of keeping warm.

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:42

Will you be lighting them there candles later on? And taking off your jacket so we can admire your floaty shirt sleeves

DumSpiroSpero · 07/09/2011 21:56

Well I popped in and the candles went out...off to change my frock Blush

BessyHiggins · 07/09/2011 21:57

Mary knitted a nice woolly yesterday, Massive. You can borrow him it if you like.

TheSmoulderingMrThornton · 07/09/2011 21:58

Oh dear me. This new-fangled electricity seems to have failed for a while. Maud and I were just enjoying a game of canasta by candlelight but, now that power has been restored, I wondered whether you ladies might care to join me for a dance. .
