I'd settle for the pineaapple.

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 00:30

I forgot to shut the stable door

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 00:34

::Pauses on the staircase::

Good grief. That's not exactly Brahms' Lullaby, is it?

::quite discombobulated::

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 10:24

Morning all; you lot were very funny last night!

LadyD, did I miss what the point of the Baftas-pic-searching was for? Was it relevant to something at the time or did you just remember it and wanted to share it? (and LOL at doing a Twigs, btw!) Also - crikey, your trampoline hole is about as big as my entire garden :)

And yes, that other pic was from the No Escape series. I know it well :)

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 11:09

Morning Ladies!

Nearly opened IANAH in front of Miss S then realised what the link was at the last minute!

ROFL at 'not Brahms' Lullaby!'

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 11:29

Morning all.

Good to see you on a gardening thread, Twiggy. Sooner or later all the strands of my MN life will combine and it'll be one big happy gardening with Mr Thornton party.

Off out now for much of the day.

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 12:01

That's the good thing about Not A Horse, Spiro - if you are quick on the 'close' button you can recognise it within the first half a second. How is MissS this morning, after her late night? Hope she isn't hard work for you today!

LOL @ gardening with Mr Thornton :)

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 13:06

Miss S is hard work full stop at the moment Twigs. I think we are both suffering from End of Summer Hols syndrome.

LadyDamerel · 04/09/2011 14:51

Twigs, the initial point of the Baftas pic was to do with the boots Massive was sketching for the Academy shield. The Man wore a pair of rather Gizzy-esque boots to them one year and I had seen a close up of them somewhere but it seems to have disappeared into the black hole that is the Academy Archives.

::borrows Twigs' 'It may have been a dream' disclaimer::

Maud, once the groundwroks at the Priory are completed I shall be inviting you and Mr Thornton over to advise me on planting schemes, if you are available?

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 14:54

Ah, was that something from the old thread? I didn't read the last few days of that so didn't know about the Academy Shield.

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 14:55

These boots?

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 14:57

Here is a close up of boots but not very clear

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 15:03

In fact, if you click twice on my first picture above you can enlarge the boots.

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 15:30

Oooooooh golly, yes Twigs, and if you crank up the zoom and brightness you can see they are rather nice boots indeed.Is that a buckle I descry at the back?

No spurs though Sad

How is everyone doing? Having a good day I hope?

No doubt our respective Lords would give the okay to Mr Thornton's horticultural expertise if they were allowed to bring in Charlie Dimmock.

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 18:47

Yes, a buckle. I don't usually like fancy or showy shoes on men (oops, me being overly-fussy again!) but I lurrrrve these ones :) I would die if DrTwigs bought some though.

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 18:47

from embarrassment, I should add - not from pleasure!

SupermassiveLBD · 04/09/2011 19:00

Do you know what crossed my mind? The buckles must jingle like spurs as he "goes stridin' merrily along" to misquote the old song. Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 04/09/2011 20:02

I don't know that song but I bet they jingle during all sorts of activities...

Anyway, I have just watched the most sublime Guy moment and am all of a quiver. Just did Hood o'Clock with MissTwigs and we watched Treasure Of The Nation (the one with Lynda Bellingham in). I'm sure you all know it as it must be a classic Guyism but it was my first time. The bit where Guy turns to Marian and says "Stay and make this place bearable"....

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 20:04

::staggers in::

Evening all.

LadyD - Mr Thornton and I would be happy to dispense with his cravat and floppy white shirt gardening advice. I get the impression that The Priory grounds are quite extensive? I shall devise a planting scheme accordingly.

::gets out the graph paper::

And wow that Twiggy instantly found the Boots. (The mention of the shield with motto de gustibus nil disputandum was last night, Twiggy). I quite like men in stompy boots. The Bloke has some rather fine bikers' boots, but I would be mortified if he bought (say) cowbot boots.

TheSmallPrint · 04/09/2011 20:34

Hello all I am back to the Hotel California, slightly sun damaged with brassy sunbleached locks but back all the same. I can't possibly catch up with your mad witterings intellectual debate so I'll just roll on in like I've never left if that's OK. If there are any vital updates please can someone summarise? Smile

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 20:38

Ah yes, Small. ::claps you to her ample bosom:: You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

You'd certainly be able to hear him coming...

DumSpiroSpero · 04/09/2011 20:41

Cowbot? Is that a cross between a cowboy and robot?

Mr S has always lusted after cowboy boots but thankfully has never got his mitts on a pair!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/09/2011 20:45

As you will see, Small, some things have not changed.

And don't diss my spelling, Spiro. I have had a bibulous tiring day.

TheSmallPrint · 04/09/2011 20:46

Ahhhh so pleased to see nothing's changed!
