Why didn't I think of that?

For that, you need a truly devious mind honed by years of island culture Maud.

Hello Spiro It seems you have been busy too. I had such good intentions but as usual ended up mucking about pursuing an intellectual discussion here

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:06

Eh? Pavement licking is part of island culture?

::deliberately obtuse::

DumSpiroSpero · 03/09/2011 22:09

Speaking of obtuse - how blond are Robin and his men not to realise that Jaq is a girl???!!! Confused

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:11

Yeah, but in a time when women were rarely seen outside the home and certainly not in any active kind of role .... blah, blah, blah.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:13

::and whispers::

Besides, it's a ::hush:: plot device. And by no means the most preposterous one in RH.

DumSpiroSpero · 03/09/2011 22:16

No...am watching the silver arrow episode at the moment - preposterous is about right, but it has Gizzy rather cringingly asking Marion for a date and then on horseback galloping through the forest and...

...THUD!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:19

I raced through this greedily, Spiro. Loving the Gizzy angst, especially the dream that Marian came and told him it was him she wanted after all. That was a great touch. You can just imagine the leap in his heart, and then how much worse he must have felt on waking, with that feeling still inside of him, and realising it was only a dream

I thought it was the courier you hadn't thought of, Maud, rather than the pavement- licking. My bad.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:19

Yes, he is most impressive on a horse. Or so Massive always says.

::pretends not to have noticed herself::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:21

It was the courier I hadn't thought of, but I deliberately missed the point and queried whether pavement-licking was a feature of island life. Another joke that suffered the same fate as a lead balloon. My very much worse.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:23

Another silly moment is Robin not realising that Marian is a girl, either, when she is in her Nightwatchman outfit. Her bosoms are protruding quite considerably, too . A clue? yes!

Mind you, Gizzy doesn't twig on either, later on.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:25

But as Maud so rightly points out, Gizzy has other talents,

Lucky old Richie

LadyDamerel · 03/09/2011 22:26

::staggers back in::

::shakes off layers of dust and cobwebs::

::mops heat and sweaty brow::

Well.

That was a rummage and a half but I found one of them.

Not that it is any way, shape or form relevant now but I like it for its un-posed-ness.

::brain addled by excess rummaging::

DumSpiroSpero · 03/09/2011 22:29

He's got a very cheeky glint in his eye there Lady D!

As for 'Lucky old Richie'...Grin

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:29

Delightful and well worth the diligent delving, LadyD.

LadyDamerel · 03/09/2011 22:32

Most of the comedy in RH stems from the sheer ludicrousness of ALL the scenarios. As easy as he is on the eye, Gizzy really isn't the sharpest tool in the shed either, is he? You'd think at some point he'd cotton on to Robin's favourite tricks but no, he still gets caught out by them in S3 e8.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:32

Eek. That doesn't work for me, LadyD. I know it's always me that says it's unfair to comment on unposed/paparazzo photos, but I find that one a bit sinister.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:34

I have been reading about how knights trained their destriers to respond just to the pressure of their knees etc, because they needed both hands free for fighting, and so couldn't use the reins..

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:34

Now this, on the other hand, bears repetition.

Tuxedo Junction.

DumSpiroSpero · 03/09/2011 22:34

This is rather nice!

...knights trained their destriers to respond just to the pressure of their knees...

I'm not going out there...

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:36

Well that last post of mine slotted in well in the general flow of the conversation, didn't it?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:37

::Hands LadyD some protective clothing::

I recall that when once I suggested that Guy was a little lacking in the intellectual department, I got quite a kicking.

::surveys bruises::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:38

Much less scary nicer, Spiro.

I thought it was a learned contribution to our discussion of Guy's horsemanship, Massive unlike my own inane ramblings.

SupermassiveLBD · 03/09/2011 22:39

Thank goodness for Spiro. And there was me thinking i'd missed the boat.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/09/2011 22:40

Thinking of sheds, LadyD, how went LordD's landscaping project? Is The Priory still standing?
