So what prompted that, Maud? nothing good on t'telly?

How is your magnificent new televisual apparatus btw? I keep forgetting to request an update.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 22:33

Nay. I was watching Jarvis live from Reading (or possibly Leeds) on my vast, vulgar, shiny new telly aka the new love of my love.

SupermassiveLBD · 27/08/2011 22:37

Ah, vast and vulgar is good in the televisual field.

And they say size doesn't matter.

How big is it, did i ever know what you ended up with eventually?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 22:40

It's the biggest one I've ever had, fnarr fnarr. ::It has to be done:: Forty-something inches of televisual bliss.

PassTheTwiglets · 27/08/2011 22:41

Awww, out first dance at our wedding was a Pulp song (not that one).

SupermassiveLBD · 27/08/2011 22:45

All the better to ogle FWS and their contents on DVD capture every delicate detail in all the natural history and art appreciation programs the BBC do so well.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 22:47

Which was it, Twigs? (and I'm rather ashamed of how long I had to rack my brains before I remembered).

I've just learnt from the Pulp thread that they're playing in sarf London this week and I didn't even know.

::Feeble attempt to recapture lost yoof::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 22:50

Exactly, Massive. Ars gratia artis.

::1 ... 2 .... 3 .... Cue lewd innuendo humorous remark from Twiggy::

PassTheTwiglets · 27/08/2011 22:56

Moi, Maud?

First dance was . I wasn't a big Pulp fan (not that I don't like them, I just don't know anuything other than the big hits) but the lyrics to this one were uncannily accurate 'cos of how we met. Awwww.

Orf to bed now. Night all.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 22:59

Wot? I put the word ars in a post and you don't make one of your peaches jokes?

::sues Twiggy for breach of promise::

Good night, my dear.

SupermassiveLBD · 27/08/2011 23:07

Ah Maud, indeed, ars longa, vita brevis

OP posts:
FrankNFurterDoingTheTimeWarp · 27/08/2011 23:14

Ars longa

Vita brevis

indeed.

SupermassiveLBD · 27/08/2011 23:18

Frankie, mate, it won't be to Hollywood you'll be going if you keep showing me Gizzy's naked throat at this time of night.

I have enough trouble with insomnia as it is. Angry

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 23:22

I'm sure Frank is just trying to enter into the spirit of the thread.

::::

SupermassiveLBD · 27/08/2011 23:30

Heh heh, I love Gizzy's wings.

And that is my cue to depart, i must fly! Bitey knight, all.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/08/2011 23:31

Good knight, good ladies.

PassTheTwiglets · 28/08/2011 05:29

Morning all. And a stupidly early one at that. Yawn.

We are away for a few days (our Alan Partridge-themed mini-break, if you recall). Will check in but probably not be posting. Hope you all have a good few days. Massive, hope you managed to get some sleep last night!

DumSpiroSpero · 28/08/2011 09:34

Have a lovely break Twigs - hope you get a few lie-ins!

LadyDamerel · 28/08/2011 09:43

Hope the break is good, Twigs.

How was the dinner party, Spiro - did the ice cream work?

We had a couple of friends and their dcs over for an impromptu chilli last night. MiniDs went to bed at midnight, MasterD2 got up at 7. Today is going to be so much fun with him Hmm.

Watched the final episode of S2 this morning and cried when Marion died Blush. King Richard is pretty damn hot, though of the potato face variety a little.

DumSpiroSpero · 28/08/2011 10:19

You evening sounds nice Lady D - good luck with the littlies today though!

Last night was good - didn't get to bed 'til half one. The ice cream was a success - thank goodness after all that work (and there's some left over Smile).

This was pudding.

SupermassiveLBD · 28/08/2011 12:58

Yum, Spiro, that looks positively sinful. Glad the evening went well. it's a great compensation for all the slaving over a hot stove when your efforts are appreciated.

Twigs! I hope you are having a wonderful break and we will be waving at you whenever you decide to have a lurk. Though I didn't get a wink of sleep last night, thanks to you Wink

Mind you, I suppose Frankenfurter and the floppy black shirt pic did make some contribution to my insomnia.

LadyD, how did the excavations go? Well, presumably, or Lord D would be helping the authorities with their enquiries, rather than hosting impromtu chilli parties.

That last episode of season two is so sad isn't it? I still tear up whenever I think of it.

A quietish day for me but I have chores to do, worse luck Sad I shall keep popping in every now and then though to reward myself.

I like Pulp, they were headlining when I went to Glastonbury back in the day!

LadyDamerel · 28/08/2011 14:28

Spiro, have you seen this? Adulation for you Smile.

DumSpiroSpero · 28/08/2011 16:39

I don't know about adulation, Lady D, but it's a very nice review! Smile

Massive PM'd me the link yesterday, which was handy as I'd had a couple of mentions and a few follower requests on Twitter which seemed a bit random, but obviously stem from people reading Sparky's etc off the back of her recommendation.

TheSmallPrint · 28/08/2011 16:42

Congratulations Spiro, fame at last! And well deserved praise. Smile
