::interrupts frantic fanning with great aunt Agatha's ostrich feather fan::

Good night!

SupermassiveLBD · 31/07/2011 10:27

I hate to worry any of you ladies, but I just read a MN thread where Next was rubbished to within an inch of its life for its recent decline in quality.

I used to have a cleaning lady in the old days and she once asked me if I had any old clothes I could give her. My answer then, as it would be now was that old clothes are what I always wear.

I do have some quite nice ones though... it's my very own vintage boo-teek.

I am loving last night's audiovisuals, especially the movie version of the wet Lucas pic. No hardship whatever in sitting through that little vid - apart from the weather eye I am having to keep open to avoid being caught by rampant Invaders.

TheSmallPrint · 31/07/2011 10:27

Morning all! Sorry for abandoning you yesterday, we had a big family thing all afternoon and evening so couldn't MN.

And of course I can look at any vids til I'm on a proper computer.

Spiro if you wear a pink top we may look like twins.

PassTheTwiglets · 31/07/2011 11:02

LOL @ Massive's shoes not working :o

DumSpiroSpero · 31/07/2011 13:25

Maud, as much as I appreciate Mr Thornton's infinite talents with regard to the etiquette of cravat removal, if we're talking stripped and ready for action I think this hits the spot! Wink

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 13:26

Further ::snurk:: at Academic dress being a pink t-shirt. This one would be ideal.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 13:30

That's why I knew that link would provoke interest you, Spiro!

::Observes Spiro's Pavlovian reaction to the words stripped and action::

DumSpiroSpero · 31/07/2011 15:00

Pavlovian response is about right Maud! Why don't we have a 'tongue hanging out' emoticon Grin!

Well it's 3pm - Mr S is playing cricket and I am losing the will to live. I would say 'how long until wine o'clock' but I have promised Miss S a girly evening and couch camping.

I suspect you will all be able hear the screams by then...Confused

TheSmallPrint · 31/07/2011 15:03

Well you pic hit my spot Spiro .

Darcy tshirts for academy ladiez>

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 15:27

::Hopes Small has remembered to order the pillow cases, shopping bags, fridge magnets and other academic insignia::

TheSmallPrint · 31/07/2011 15:44

Don't be silly Maud, those things are just frivolous, the t shirts are an Important Statement of Fact.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 15:49

Hmm, Small. Maybe we should nonetheless subject that statement to ?

::picks self off floor::

Well, I must say that I think all the evidence points to the correctness of your assertion, Small.

::collapses on chaise longoo::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 15:55

Have we previously studied this There are some very pleasing moments, in which the visual materials are well-matched to the aria.

TheSmallPrint · 31/07/2011 16:22

See, didn't I tell you so? I have just watched that vid sitting in a shoe shop and very entertaining it was too.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 16:25

In a shoe shop? You're not buying a pair of *^@% kiss me shoes, are you, Small? Massive has already complained that they don't work.

DumSpiroSpero · 31/07/2011 16:37

Well - vid 1 was a no brainer obviously Thornton trumps Darcy every time (particularly that version of Darcy).

Vid 2 - yum - will be coming back to that one again later!

I'm not entirely sure what it says about me that in spite of all the hunky, sexy, intelligent, cute, heroic, cultured, Alpha-male types RA has played, my favourite of all his characters is still John Standring Confused.

TheSmallPrint · 31/07/2011 16:41

No not rude shoes Maud but very pink shoes. Didn't have my size though, sadly.

Spiro it's probably your nurturing side coming out. I'd have any of them JP or Lucas.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 16:44

I agree, Spiro, that the contest might be a little more equal if it were Mr Thornton vs this incarnation of Mr Darcy. Clearly, when all is said and done, you're still rooting for the fundamentally good guy.

DumSpiroSpero · 31/07/2011 16:47

JP is my other favourite and in a way they are kind of a reverse of one another. JP is a real tough guy with a soft centre, Standring appears to be a softie and a bit of a push over, but is all man when it counts (i.e. telling PLF Mk II where to get off!).

DumSpiroSpero · 31/07/2011 16:48

I do love a bit of good old fashioned dichotomy Wink Grin!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 31/07/2011 16:51

::Goes to look up dichotomy in the Oxford Dictionary of Euphemism::

DumSpiroSpero · 31/07/2011 16:53

Just throwing that one in on the off-chance the Man has had a tip off about us Grin!

LadyDamerel · 31/07/2011 16:59
.

Love the new Academy uniform, is it compulsory?

Is Massive still in the sub?

Went out to a NT place with the MiniDs today and the Caro Emerald song was on the radio. I only just managed not to blurt out "Ooh, this is the Academy song we were listening to last night." Blush
