I am brain-dead tonight so this is rubbish - just a place-holder. Please do something else if you can think of a decent one!

YY to Myleene (in my case chiefly cos I am just plain old Envy of that trip to New Orleans she did with John Barrowman a couple of years ago).

I know she's considered a national treasure but Emma Thompson really grates on me too. FIL has met her on a couple of occasions though and is absolutely besotted.

Supermodels - La Moss in particular - I just don't get it as far as she's concerned (although must admit she did look stunning in yesterdays paper)

Footballers - pretty much all of them - overpaid, arrogant, unable to keep it in their shorts and not overburdened with brain cells in most cases. Give me a rugby man any day!

LadyDamerel · 16/07/2011 09:27

I used to follow Leicester Rugby club, many moons ago - I still have an enormous soft spot for Martin Bayfield, the Underwood brothers, Kyron Bracken and all of the '95 England squad.

Obviously my preference for rugby has nothing to do with the shorter shorts and the lovely legs on display, oh no no no no.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/07/2011 10:10

I used to love Martin Bayfield!!!

LadyDamerel · 16/07/2011 10:24

I met him once, after a match. He is HUGE. And very nice.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/07/2011 16:35

New Captain America Interview.

Short and sweet but better than nothing.

Wonder if we'll be getting a proper look at Thorin Oakenshield tonight?

SupermassiveLBD · 16/07/2011 17:46

Sweet is the word, Spiro. Doesn't he look boyish here, in contrast to the more recent pics we have been seeing.?

but . either way.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/07/2011 17:52

It is very sweet isn't it? I think I do prefer that look to the one we had last night, although tbh fanciability factor aside I'm just totally in awe of the fact he can make himself appear to be a completely different person Confused. Chameleon doesn't even come close!

He does love that shirt though doesn't he - seems to wear it in virtually everything I've seen him in recently!

SupermassiveLBD · 16/07/2011 18:06

Maybe he has a dozen of those shirts Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 16/07/2011 18:22

Who knows? I'd be more concerned with getting him out of it

SupermassiveLBD · 16/07/2011 18:42

I must admit I too have never seen a shirt I haven't wanted to see him out of,,,

DumSpiroSpero · 16/07/2011 18:54

ROFL Grin!

SupermassiveLBD · 16/07/2011 19:12

Thorin, Thorin, wherefore art thou, Thorin..

I'm still betting it'll be a while. Maybe after the CA publicity.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/07/2011 20:21

Evening all.

LadyDamerel, clear all husbands, partners and small children from the room. I have a gift for you. (If you google dieux du stade there is some startling stuff that is not suitable for viewing at family teatime).

SupermassiveLBD · 16/07/2011 20:41

Evening Maudie. Are you about to Lower the Tone, then?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/07/2011 20:45

Certainly not. I have presented LadyDamerel with a tasteful gift of some contemporary sculpture of the male form and directed her to where she may, if she were so to choose, find more in similar vein. I meanwhile, continue to study the works of Plato with my dear friend.

Would you care to join us in a glass of Madeira?

PassTheTwiglets · 16/07/2011 20:51

C'mon then, fill 'er up...

Here you go, Twiggy Wine

PassTheTwiglets · 16/07/2011 21:03

Come on Massive, don't be shy...

::Proffers a potent mix of Madeira, ratafia and Polish cordial - a little cocktail of my own devising::

DumSpiroSpero · 16/07/2011 21:14

Anyone else been watching the Impressionists documentary on BBC2? Really interesting. I'm looking forward to see the dramatisation again when I've watched the series.

You got off the M25 eventually then Twigs?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/07/2011 21:19

No, Spiro, I forgot about it and, besides, Bloke and Girl has hijacked the telly to watch Torchwood. Let's hope it'll be repeated. I learnt a lot about Bazille from the dramatisation - I hadn't known he'd died on active service in the Franco-Prussian war.

SupermassiveLBD · 16/07/2011 21:20

And Wine Wine from me too, if you want to line them up

PassTheTwiglets · 16/07/2011 21:22

thash better Maud, cheersh...

Spiro, yes eventually! 3.5 hour journey to the outlaws... faaaaabulous day. #sarcasm

It was very nice to get back and see the Project photos! I liked them but the clothes were AWFUL!! Horrible, scratchy jumpers that looked like his nan made them - yuk. Haven't been able to hear the CA interview yet, though have watched it :)

Have you all seen the Museum Of Modern Toddler Art thread on discussions of the day? It's very funny and clever.
