I am brain-dead tonight so this is rubbish - just a place-holder. Please do something else if you can think of a decent one!

Oh, and following a brief conversation on Twitter with LadyV, did you know that Captain America will also be showing in... wait for it... 3D?!?! Can you imagine it?! will have to duck when he turns sidesways with that nose though

DumSpiroSpero · 09/07/2011 10:01

We've got opticians & if she's ok after that I'm going to take her to pottery cafe to paint a mug for her teacher then will go to mums.

You have a point re ibuprofen - she's not so bad with that, but have just bought a new bottle of Calpol so she's going to have to lump it for now. She wasn't impressed with the medicine flavoured burps afterwards Grin!

LadyDamerel · 09/07/2011 10:10

Bleurgh, medicine flavoured burps, I remember those!

Barn is all ready, complete with rickety ladder, just say the word...

Must go, I'm supposed to be meeting LordD at the sports field to take the MiniDs off his hands - I said I'd be 5 minutes about half an hour ago Grin.

See you later.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/07/2011 11:02

A new Peter Jackson video about the Hobbit! Blink and you miss him at about 3.07

Or if you can't be arsed with all 10 minutes, here is the snippet :)

Twigs! Shock Grin

THUD @ 3D Herr Kruger

DumSpiroSpero · 09/07/2011 12:00

OMG Twigs! That is not a flattering pic/clip. Was that a prosthetic nose?

Recognise magazine had better get their finger out - I think I need an antidote!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2011 12:01

Morning all!

Fortunately for me, Girl has inherited her mother's ability to sleep for England besides ::gloat:: on Saturday mornings Bloke takes her out while I wallow in the bath pointlessly daubing myself with the whole Clarins range.

Oh golly, Twiggy. The leather jacket. The brutal haircut in which you can see a little bit of grey, which is reassuring to ladies of a certain age.

::fans self::

::revises opinion of the Hobbit::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2011 12:02

Clearly Spiro and I are going to have to disagree on this one. Don't diss the nose, Spiro, it's an essential part of who he is.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2011 12:13

And the resemblance is rather troubling, I admit

DumSpiroSpero · 09/07/2011 13:08

Now I really like Christopher Ecclestone, to the extent that I went back and this time checked out the screencaps link.

The look is growing on me having seen some more pics (Blush at thinking that was a prosthetic nose - in my defence it is a lousy light/camera angle).

I agree Maud that it's nice to see him looking 'ordinary', half of the appeal for me is that he isn't always the epitome of chiselled perfection (not that I'm complaining about the occasions when he is Grin!)

LadyDamerel · 09/07/2011 13:19

I've never noticed his nose like that before though, the bump in the middle seems to be much more pronounced than usual, maybe it is the angle but it looks very odd.

Is the thing in the Big Smoke a definite go-er, am about to book train tickets!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2011 13:37

Perhaps we should have a revision module on chiselled facial features?

Going off comms. May not be back until quite late.

::elusive::

LadyDamerel · 09/07/2011 13:39

::turns on tracking device in Maud's shoe::

LadyDamerel · 09/07/2011 13:52

::Turns industrial sized fan on full::

Have just caught up with last night's offerings.

Bad to the Bone.

::dissolves into puddle::

How do you build resistance to that? Do I need to send LordD to the inn tonight in order to over expose myself to Gizzy, thereby improving my immunity to sneers, sexy smirks and brooding looks?

DumSpiroSpero · 09/07/2011 14:55

Going off comms. May not be back until quite late.

::elusive::

I remember what happened last time yoposted a comment like that Maud...what are you up to? Hmm

TheSmallPrint · 09/07/2011 15:47

Afternoon. Thanks for the clip Twigster, there's definitely a touch of the CE about him in that clip but as a fellow CE fan I quite like it. Shame it's only 8 secs long and no more info about where he is taking a break

SupermassiveLBD · 09/07/2011 17:38

Hello, ladies. More Armitagey goodness on show today, eh? And for those who can't be arsed with vds, here

are

some stills

From what Spiro was saying, MissS seems a little better today, so I hope that is so.

LadyD, about Bad to the Bone and the like., I have been exposing myself to Gizzy's charms as often as I can for the past ten months, and I am sorry to inform you that the effect still hasn't worn off. My commiserations if you find that thought depressing. [hblush]

SupermassiveLBD · 09/07/2011 17:43

And I heart Christopher Ecclestone too, he was the best Doctor, for me the nose, the accent, the leather what's not to like?

Maud has quite clearly repaired to a dwarfy grotto at Claridges, for cucumber sarnies and seed cake with a friend.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/07/2011 17:57

Oh I loved his look in that clip, Spiro! Not appreciating the CE reference though! I love CE as an actor but that's all. Massive, major Hobbity Twiglets going on in that last photo!!

LadyD, yup it's a goer - my train tickets are already booked! LadyV said she'd have a look at cinemas - does anybody have any objection to 3D films? (I know they make some people feel sick/give them headaches).

Oooooh, wonder what Maud is up to? [henvy] of these people who have, y'know, a life :)

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 09/07/2011 18:08

I like that second pic Massive, showed off his crinkles to full effect [hgrin]

I loved CE as The Dr and did have a bit of a girly crush on him at the time.

I don't love 3D Twigs but will watch if you guys would prefer that.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/07/2011 18:26

Smally, if you don't like 3D then we will give it a miss - no point in one of us not enjoying it! besides, I'm sure I can persuade DrTwigs to come to a 3D version with me

I hadn't noticed the crinkles, as I was distRActed by the Twiglets but on second glance, they are jolly fine crinkles.

Good Lord, what would an outsider make of the above sentence? :)

CE got me into The Doctor (watched it as a child but not obsessively) but CE was so brilliant that it suddenly became my favourite show. Definitely no crush here though :)

Just sayin!

Wink
TheSmallPrint · 09/07/2011 19:24

Sorry Massive [hsad] if it's any consolation you will be missed. We'll raise a glass of Gizzy to you.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/07/2011 19:27

if it's any consolation you will be missed

Absolutely! In fact if it was a choice of you coming or The Man himself then I'd choose.... well, I wouldn't choose you, obvs, but you'd be a close second :o

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 09/07/2011 19:46

Second to the Man??? That is accolade enough for me.

You will all just have to watch twice as keenly, once for me as well as once for yourselves. And will there be photos? Hopefully each with a life-sized cardboard cutout of Hunky Heinz, which any sensible publicity firm will thought to have provided.
