Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

::bleary-eyed::

Picking on the new girl? ::shrill:: Picking on the new girl? ::incredulous:: And there I was thinking that we had gone to a great deal of trouble to be welcoming, sharing our most prized academic resources and research findings in a spirit of shared intellectual endeavour.

It's Dixon's night off and it's taken me three hours to get the ironing done, such was my devotion to the Academy archive. And I just watched the final scene of North and South and have, alas, scorched Mr Thornton's finest cravat. He is sure to scold me.

Grin at scorched cravat.

How was TT Small? I'm about the only person in my office who hasn't gone - don't mums them but not to that extent and to be honest the return of Mr Williams is more of a turn off than on for me (fellow Gary fan here!)

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 09:19

AMAZING Spiro. I like them but not a desperate fan but my friend had tickets and I had heard it's a great show and they weren't wrong. I'm not a RW fan (always had a bit of a thing for Gary though Wink) but even he was amazing. Fab evening all round despite being soaked to the skin by the lovely July weather! Oh and the Pet Shop Boys were the support band who were also excellent and they finished with West End Girls .

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 09:21

Maud I love that Rule The World N&S vid Smile

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 09:25

On a different note entirely to wake me up this morning. My eyes are like lead weights.

PasstheTwiglets · 06/07/2011 09:35

Will you please all stop having fun when I am not here?! :) I was at a quiz night last night and missed all the fun here. Also, had I been here, I would have been able to restore the shocking Lack Of Lucas. Wot no Womanizer? Rest assured that this will be rectified at the earliest opportunity.

I listened to the last part of Venetia again in the car on the way home last night. Oh man, I think the car was powered by oestrogen for the last half hour. Dear, dear Jasper... can't say more though, as Maud has not finished with him quite yet. Might have to give the Earl Of Rule another go after this. If you'll pardon the phrase.

Glad you had fun last night Small. I can't say I'm a particular fan (I was never into them in my younger years) but I do love some of their later songs - especially the one Maud posted; that give me goospimples (or' two swimming pools', as DD amusingly misheard it some years ago :o)

Right, am going to take TwigBoy swimming now. I hope there is a competent lifeguard on stand-by.

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 09:39

Did I hear someone say they didn't like [ Britney]]? Well I love that one and one so there

And just found specially for Massive, full of hair tossing.

PasstheTwiglets · 06/07/2011 09:40

Blimey, Smallio - that one has certainly woken me up a bit! Perfect timing too, as I posted that 'lifeguard' pic before I saw your vid! Well that's my nice little fantasy all worked out for the swimming session this morning, then (as time does drag a little there) so cheers for that :o

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 09:41

Ha crossed posts with Twigs. I knew there had to be a fellow Womanizer supporter on here.

Have fun at the pool Twigster and no pretending to drown just to get the lifeguards attention!

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 09:41

Pleasure Twigs Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/07/2011 09:53

Morning ladies. Yes, we were smokiiiin' last night.

Small -I envy you the PSB more than TT, really, but I am a big fan of Robbie's Swing When You're Winning (even though nobody will match the incomparable Frank).

I'm heading out for the day but here is a . I find it most pleasing, aesthetically and musically, and above all it is all done in the best possible taste.

That's my lasagne making and laundry plans buggered for the morning then!

Those vids were fab Grin. Loved the music with the last one.

However if it's Lucas Lusciousness you're after, it's these three classics you're after...

Enjoy!

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 11:50

Well I'm quite happy to enjoy all offerings as long as Fix Me is not the accompanying tune so I shan't show any disdain for any vids

Love wet Lucas Spiro and I love The Killers.

Last night I did keep imagining what it would been like to have been at gig.

Insomnia11 · 06/07/2011 11:56

Oh my watches thread

Insomnia11 · 06/07/2011 11:58

I still like the GoG Sexy Back video from 4/5 years ago myself.

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 12:28

Welcome Insomnia Grin please don't just watch, jump in feet first!

Have you seen sexy back 3? Now that is something to behold and I'm not sure how it was excluded from last nights list Hmm

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 13:11
just for you Insomnia..
PasstheTwiglets · 06/07/2011 13:15

LOL at the great minds thinking alike with Womanizer and "wet Lucas" - my first act upon returning from the swimming pool was to ask if anybody remembered off-hand what episode Wet Lucas was in - not that my mind was tending that way at the pool, or anything... :o

Small! Re. your suggestion that Insomnia should jump in feet first, that sounds very dangerous to me and I thought we ought to have a trained professional standing by. (Welcome, Insomnia!)

PasstheTwiglets · 06/07/2011 13:20

I didn't say that properly - I meant to say that asking about wet Lucas was was my first thought on returning, not first act, and then Spiro had coincidentally posted it. Thank you for restoring the Lucas balance, Spiro. He would thank you himself, but he is currently tied up in my cupboard so is unavailable for comment.

PasstheTwiglets · 06/07/2011 13:26

Roll-up, roll-up, who's for a new interview!!! It's really brief though, only about 20 seconds.

TheSmallPrint · 06/07/2011 14:31

Too short!!

Did you hear this clip from frozen on the same site. Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 06/07/2011 14:36

Goodness, ladies, how busy you have been. And Small has been to see TT, how exciting. I am not a fan, but it is RL slebs after all

It is maybe a good job I resisted the urge to pop in earlier, or I wouldn't have been able to get a single thing done today -- the lovely vids... Ah, oh- too-luscious Lucas, I remember why I dare not pay you too much attention. You are as addictive as Gizzy and I just can't cope with two of you. And the interview, and the pics. And the Muse gig, playing my tune to an audience of thousands...

Naturally, though, it was Small's vid of the hair-tossing that caused the really serious damage. Every shot a punch to the gut. In the nicest possible way Wink Perhaps you should talk me out of this, someone. I am getting far too silly about him for a grown-up lady.

It was the Gimme More Britney that I was steering away from, for obvious reasons.

And welcome Insomnia. Do stay around.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/07/2011 14:40

Grin @ Small's audio clip. Well, that's me told, as requested, right on cue!And from the I-am-not-a-horses's mouth.

PasstheTwiglets · 06/07/2011 14:47

ROFL at that clip, Small!! :o
