Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

But it's the not knowing that's the delight, non? The hint, the intriguing glimpse, the possibility?

Massive, you need to combine that experience with the one my mum and I had a few years ago. We were in a Marks & Spencers and this ridiculously-gorgeous man suddenly stripped his shirt off to try on a jumper, right in the middle of the shop floor! Mum and I, along with several other women, just stared, jaws on the floor. It was strikign enough an image to make us wonder if there was some sort of hidden camera for a TV advert or something...

ROFL, Spiro!! :o

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 17:57

Shall I fess up and say I went back and looked for him when Mr M. had left? No sign, though.

Shame he wasn't wearing black -- any kind would have done, it didn't have to be leather.

What M&S was that, I wonder, Twigs? We never get ridiculously gorgeous men in ours, with or without shirts on, nor did we in the ones back home in England.

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 19:16

ROFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame he wasn't wearing black

He was wearing black in my head :)

What M&S was that, I wonder, Twigs?

This was in Bluewater, so you get a better class of ridiculously gorgeous man :)

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 20:02

Right, DrTwigs has gone out, TwigBoy is asleep, MissTwigs is in her room reading Harry Potter and I am about to crack open the Chateau Giz and watch Sense & Sensibility, huzzah! I cannot believe I don't know the ending. I've never read it (never read any Austen Blush but I've seen the film before and can't remember the end! Will it be Edward Ferrers or lovely Colonel Brandon, who knows?! As long as it's not that little oik from Mamma Mia...

Back in an hour or so.

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 20:03

Ah fergeddabahtit, he probably had a face like a constipated weasel anyway. He'll be sat at home now, scratching himself and picking his teeth and scoffing pizza straight out of the box, completely oblivious to the stir he unwittingly caused in the bosom of a middle-aged lady this aftenoon.

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 20:04

Enjoy, Twigs. Sounds like a lovely evening.

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 21:37

I don't expect anyone we know was in the audience here last night

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 21:38

:o @ constipated weasel

Well hurrah for Colonel Brandon! Half of me doesn't think that Marianne deserved him though.

Just time for a bit of Spookage now. 8.4, methinks :) We've just had the American Beauty moment Oh, Lucas is just so... so...

How have everybody's days been then?

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 21:43

Massive, how funny, I read about that this morning and had similar thoughts! And an extra coincidence, having just mentioned American Beauty, too.

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 21:44

Oh look, an abandoned shelter in the middle of the countryside...

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 21:51

Agreed, Twigster, Lucas is very... especially while in the process of donning boilersuits.

What was that all about? Confused

You know what my day was like, pseudo-Gizzy in the mall, and that was about it. Still no news of the SB's summer club. So far we have not run out of friends to palm them off on send them on ''playdates'' to.

DumSpiroSpero · 30/06/2011 21:52

As you know Twigs my day has certainly had its highlights Smile. Am just looking on Tesco's website to see what we can do with our £60 of Days Out vouchers over the summer hols.

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 21:56

Eh, Spiro? What have I missed? (about your highlights). Sorry if I am missing something obvious!

What are Days Out vouchers? Is this something different to Clubcard rewards?

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 22:21

Or do you mean about your head agreeing to a 4 day week?

DumSpiroSpero · 30/06/2011 22:24

Just my new hours Twigs - nothing that exciting to anyone except me - 6 hours once a week with the house to myself to bugger about on Mumsnet and ogle YouTubeage get things done!

Days Out vouchers - if you look on the Clubcard Rewards site, some of the things you just need a generic Days Out voucher for rather than a token specific to that particular venue/event/attraction etc.

We're planning to use them for London Zoo, but just having a look at other options which might mean we get more than 1 day out from them.

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 22:35

6 hours once a week with the house to myself

Ah yes, I remember it well, Spiro.
Sure is a lovely feeling

DumSpiroSpero · 30/06/2011 22:37

How's it going on the school hols front Massive? Any joy with holiday club?

PasstheTwiglets · 30/06/2011 22:39

It is fab news, it was just that the smiley at the end made me think it was something else that I'd missed. Will your 4 day week start immediately? I hope we can expect some new fic soon, as a result :)

I'll have a look at those vouchers. We have a load that need using up.

Well I'm off to bed now, with a glass of wine and another chapter of Venetia. Night, all!

DumSpiroSpero · 30/06/2011 22:45

Very nice too Twigs - and yup am starting new hours next week.

If you do a search for voucher code S3010 it should list all the places you can so with that general voucher - includes your local zoo!

SupermassiveLBD · 30/06/2011 22:47

Night night Twigs enjoy Lord D.

Spiro, it's not looking good re the summer holiday club. Perhaps I should post them off to NZ, they would make good Hobbits - compact build , big feet, always eating...

DumSpiroSpero · 30/06/2011 22:50

Grin Massive.

Have you nothing else up your sleeve? Odd day activities or dispatching them to nearest willing friend's family for the day every so often?

I need to book some 'play-dates' (boak) soon. So far have arranged two - both just for Mummy Grin!
