Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

p.s. yes, I so would :)

Maud, sorry not to answer before. I was busy in the kitchen. Ugh. Where are your linke saved, then ? If they are in your browser favourites, I've found they might slow things down. Which reminds me to clear the dead outlaws out of mine.

SupermassiveLBD · 29/06/2011 22:20

Awards Maud the archivists medal for services to Twiglettery.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/06/2011 22:29

::waves smugly::

I find - more with the vids than the photos - that the links often get broken, which forces me to prune the list. And I only maintain it for the benefit of my fellow Academicians. Ahem.

Hmm, I seem to acquire shedloads of the stuff. Purely for research purposes, you understand.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/06/2011 22:54

Giving them distinctive and memorable names (so that I can swiftly find what I'm looking for) is part of the fun, I think. Thus we have

Swoonerama 87

Swoonerama 231.4

and so on.

Obviously a classification method that is capable of far greater discernment than the Dewey decimal system, but slightly more esoteric.

The Gizzy one is delish, may I snag him for my personal use?

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:02

I have spent the last two and half hours cleaning out the downstairs toy cupboard - have got rid of 1 black bag of old board games (i.e.the ones I can't actually bear to play), 1 bag of recycling and 1 bag of rubbish. Plus relocated a large carrier of books and craft stuff and have two more carriers of miniscule extraneous crap items to sift through. Haven't even started on DD's bedroom yet - aaaaargh!

I'm sure I'll feel better once I actually get the opportunity to sit down and enjoy it in peace sometime in the next decade

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/06/2011 23:05

Clearly, Spiro, you need a restorative.

Great filing Maud (and if JP is going spare...Wink). I could certainly do with a rub down with a hunky soldier this evening.

I have a spreadsheet for vids (which I must transfer to lappy) but nothing in place for photos - just lots of them downloaded to the gallery on my mobile. I've been having some probs with the memory on it lately and was just about to go into the 3 store at the weekend when I realised they might have to see what I had on there that could be taking up the space, so thought better of it Blush!

I wonder whether anyone has thought of asking the ladies at that Russian website about what the PSM is imbibing there. My scant knowledge of the cyrillic script tells me it says ''Pivo'' on the label. And I am none the wiser. Obviously the packet of fags is just a cunning fake to conceal the obligatory mike, miniature tape recorder, inflatable get away car and fold-up submachine gun.

Blush indeed at the thought of Spiro waltzing cheerfully off to her phone people without thinking of the vast amount of incriminating media on her memory card. Well saved, there!

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:17

Mmm! Just imagine being a bar and seeing him looking at you across the room...

Definitely a throw your morals to the wind scenario

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:20

Well saved indeed, Massive - especially as Mr S was with me at the time. He was somewhat puzzled as to why, after moaning for days I suddenly couldn't be bothered to pop in and get it investigated when we were walking straight past the shop.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/06/2011 23:20

I thought [slender linguistic credentials] that pivo just meant beer. I had ignored the fags.

::painful memories of Mr Thornton and his Woodbines::

Am watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I love this film.

SupermassiveLBD · 29/06/2011 23:23

Oh yes, Spiro, I can just imagine the scene, now, if it were me involved.

Hello, stranger, I say in a husky voice, as I slink up to his table. Could it be it little old me you were staring at so intently, from across the bar?

Yes he says, with the slightest quirk at the corner of exquisitely chiselled lips. Didn't you know you've got your skirt tucked into your knickers at the back?

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:26

Don't mention Mr Thornton and his Woodbines (sets me off on fantasy about taking JP to Porter and making him cigars...)

Anyway...

I am getting to enjoy my tidy sitting room already as no sooner had I got comfy Mr S decided to come to bed. I am suffering for an acute case of lackofspaceitis at the moment. He works virtually the same hours as me, and his social life seems to have taken a dive recently - he's been out once in the last month I think, as opposed to his usual 2 or 3 times a week, and is driving me maaaaaad!

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:27

...that should be taking JP to Cuba - I was miles away wishful thinking

SupermassiveLBD · 29/06/2011 23:31

The book of matches is obviously a cunning disguise for a one-time pad

As for the PIvo. I thought that, too, but the liquid in the glass looked rather too pale for beer, which rather threw me off the scent.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:33

Pivo is a light Czech beer apparently

SupermassiveLBD · 29/06/2011 23:36

My Sympathies on Billy-no-mates Mrs S as Mr M never goes out of an evening. Ever.

Shouldn't have thought you'd be qualified for rolling cigars any longer?

DumSpiroSpero · 29/06/2011 23:36

Have you all disappeared to think of JP getting all hot and sweaty in South America? Grin
