Margaret Hale Academy of Tea-Pouring & Wallpaper Selection at the University of Milton Northern

Welcome to our new common room which, as you would expect, is decorated in impeccable taste (despite the limited choice of wallpapers available in Milton Northern). Above the marble mantelpiece hangs a portrait of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. As we recline elegantly on the chaise longue, we partake of tea and ratafia biscuits and discuss the works of Plato, although in the evening the finest wines and Polish cordials may be served.

That is the difference between us, Twiggy. You are not a Gen-yoo-ine Hintellectual, like wot I am. Wink

Maud, if your birthday is coming up, I have an early present for you, if you haven't seen iet yet. A brand new Mr Thornton video!

It was just posted yesterday and I haven't watched it yet.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/06/2011 08:57

Oh, Twiggy, thank you. The song is dreary and the stop-start effects are irritating, but none of that matters because it has the teacup and Plato moments and so much else besides. I have a day ahead when I'm supposed to be a proper grown-up and I shall have to stop myself wibbling at the recollection of my dear Mr Thornton's manly and rugged visage.

Morning all, another really busy day so will just pop in to say my fave PSP song has to be - especially for you Maud Wink

btw, it's my birthday soon too. Shall I send you a list of preferred presents?

PasstheTwiglets · 27/06/2011 10:14

Just seen the vid - hmmm, yes, the song was a bit meh, wasn't it? I did like the matching of "down on your knees" lyric but I couldn't really hear the rest of the lyrics

Small, I think we can guess what'd be on your list :)

TheSmallPrint · 27/06/2011 10:22

Excellent Twigs, I'll leave you to sort that then. Grin

Twiggy, darling, I suspect you didn't really mean a lesson in annunciation. If you were more of a churchgoer, you would know that the annunciation involves an angel.

Maud, you are right of course. Funnily enough, it looked wrong when I typed it so I Googled to check my spelling. I didn't realise at the time that the reason it looked wrong is because I was using the wrong word altogether :) I meant enunciate! And loving that bad angel illustRAtion!

Reminds me of that I used to love...

Is anybody else melting today? I've had 3 showers and washed my hair twice today!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/06/2011 19:51

I wasn't trying to be snippy, Twigs. I just saw the opportunity to introduce the cherubim and seraphim into the conversation.

I like the song, by the way. It's very groovy.

Oh, fiddlesticks. That was the wrong link. Here are the cherubim and seraphim.

Ladies, not sure if you have come across this during your studies I think there is much potential in having certain dulcet tones emanating from one's mobile.

SupermassiveLBD · 27/06/2011 21:14

Hello ladies, lots to read here. Would love to catch up but there is too much RL going on at the moment. Back tomorrow I hope, if I can't look in later...

DumSpiroSpero · 27/06/2011 21:30

Well it's been a long day but am finally in my happy place (bed, with an Polish cordial and laptop!)

Don't think we can keep mentioning the PSB's without having a bit of

DumSpiroSpero · 27/06/2011 21:31

PS - Lady D - wow! What a very useful site! Grin

LadyDamerel · 27/06/2011 21:37

Sadly there's no Gizzy or John Thornton so your curriculum may have gaps but my dear husband does utter 'my dear delight' in his best seductive voice Grin.

DumSpiroSpero · 27/06/2011 21:43

Ohh - missed that! Don't suppose the end of TCM is about anywhere:

"And I'm sorry if you don't like it...I'm going to do it again."

THUD!

So, I've been avoiding watching for weeks, given the particularly twee song choice, but have just conceded defeat, and teeny-bopper aside it's a belting vid with some really yummy clips and definitely a bit of something for everyone.

Enjoy!

LadyDamerel · 27/06/2011 21:58

My heart is fairly pounding in my breast after half an hour of going through those soundbites, I fear I would need the vinaigrette and hartshorn if TCM were there too.

I may have to allocate one to each person in my phonebook, in the interests of furthering my education you understand.

(I was LadyD before I discovered that there was the closest thing to heaven available on CD. My favourite Georgette Heyer novel AND Richard Armitage combined together - it was a very happy day when I discovered it on Amazon Grin)

SupermassiveLBD · 27/06/2011 22:09

Oh grr, so many delights to sample, and me all tied up -- and not in a good way. Grin Will have to check out that vid later, Spiro, but TIA Wink

Love the ringtone site, despite the shocking lack of Gizzyness.

TheSmallPrint · 27/06/2011 22:29

Thanks Lady D, I see they have 'close your eyes' on there
