Of course, I am violently allergic to cats...

The only picture we have of the Dean is not overly flattering but in my head he looks a little more like this

Come in, enjoy, help yourself to Twiglets.
Yours sincerely, a Fair Trespasser.

Hello, all. And Maud, lovely to see you again. Still under seige here at Massive Castle, gawd help me if they bring the trebuchet in.

Hopefully they will be off tomorrow morning as Mr Impromtu Houseguest has an appointment Elsewhere. Otherwise I shall have to resort to Plan G
( a clue: it comes with a Big Sword) Meanwhile Mr M continues to sniffle but no further development on that front yet.

Last night's and this morning's pics have truly sustained me. Mr Thornton was looking particularly fetching and so was the one in the dark blue shirt - was that Lucas or the Man himself? Sometimes you can't decide. But whoever it was that armpit belonged to, it was a Work of Art.

That print of Maud's was on the cover of an old Penguin edition of Simone de Beauvoir that I picked up in a charity shop some time back...

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 15:57

a new message from the man himself Grin

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 16:41

I just came on here to post that, Spiro! How sweet.

:) @ Plan G. It was definitely The Man and not Lucas, btw.

So, do you like my new shoes?

Oh bless, how very sweet! How did it come to your notice, ladies? Twitter, I am guessing...

New shoes, Twigs? sorry all this hostessing stuff is making me even thicker than usual.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 16:54

New shooooes?

SupermassiveLBD · 29/05/2011 16:57

Did you see that SB 2 will air in August? Seems a funny sort of time to me, mind you.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 17:00

August? Sooner than I thought it would so fine by me!

SupermassiveLBD · 29/05/2011 17:06

I finally got my act together and went to find the link about SB for you. and guess whose pic they are using to draw us in.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 17:19

If they're using his pic and referring to him being 'joined by' the 2 newbies, perhaps we can reasonably hope for a reasonable portion of Porter after all Grin!

SupermassiveLBD · 29/05/2011 17:25

a reasonable portion of Porter

Am loving that phrase.

If there isn't, we could always sue them Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 17:33

I was trying to phrase it so it didn't sound quite so rude, but failed miserably Grin.

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 17:34

Oh how fab about a SB date at last - thanks for that, Massive. I found the message on FB, I rarely use Twitter these days. I tend to have a quick flick through it once a week or so, whereas I'm on FB several times a day.

I bought new shoes today (sorry to confuse, Massive - it looked like I'd mentioned it before but I hadn't hence confusion). My mum booked our Florida trip for next year and she said that I ought to get some comfy sandals as it is hot and there is a lot of walking involved. And even though it's not until next year I'm not one to pass up on some shoe-shopping. So I bought these ones. There is the age-old problem of comfy shoes usually being rather Grannyish but because these are patent and bright pink it defrumps them a bit :)

LOL, MissTwigs was playing The Sims earlier (do you know that? It's a role-playing PC game where you create characters who you then control). She called me in and was very proud of the Sir Guy sim that she had created! It was brilliant actually - looked exactly like him :) Hmmm, a chaRActer that one can control, now there's a naughty though :o

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 17:43

Oh goodness. Am now fighting the urge to potter off to Amazon & buy Sims Blush!

Shoes look good - just make sure they're ok over your toes before you wear them out. I've got some leather mules which sole & height wise are really comfy, but by the time I'd spent 2 full days on my feet in them at Butlins both my big toes were nearly severed!

When are you off to Florida?

SupermassiveLBD · 29/05/2011 17:59

I love the shoes too, Twigs, they should look wonderful with denim, but second what Spiro says. Straps can catch you in the most unexpected ways. I have an expensive pair of sandals, made of the softest leather, that arel ethal because there is the teeniest seam in the wrong place and it is like a knife across my big toe.

Controllable chaRActers, eh? Now there's a cheerful thought.

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 19:50

Florida is last week in Feb and 1st week in March, next year. So I have 9 whole months to panic about it :) I've had the shoes on all afternoon and they're ok so far. I'll try them out in London on Tues and see how we go for a whole day! They actually look hideous with most of my clothes at the moment but I am almost back into my cropped jeans and they'll be lovely with those.

Perhaps I should ask DD if she could make a Sim version of me and I could play my own little game :) Midn you, I need a Sim Lucas for that, not a Sim Guy...

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 20:18

And probably best if your DD doesn't know too much about it either...

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 20:56

There are some options that she doesn't know about ('make a baby', anyone?!) :o

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/05/2011 20:57

Great news on the shoes, there, Twigs. So do they have an grown-up version of this Sim lark?

TheSmallPrint · 29/05/2011 21:48

Pah, I posted ages ago and it's not appeared!!

Anyone watching Xmen? I may be busy for a while! Grin

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 21:56

Small, I did ask DrTwigs if he wanted to watch X-Men! I dunno, I think Hugh Jackman is completey gorgeous but he just doesn't do anything for me, for some reason

Masive, has it been fun having IGH or has it been a nuisance? I hope it was the former. Massive, well avctually it is pretty grown-up. It's a 12 certificate. We spoke about it and I am nto that bothered by DD doing it though. The baby thing is pixelated and very cartoon-like and after all, she does know how babies are made, so I'm not bothered by that. But there is a version called Sims Late Night that she is not allowed to play!! That could be one for us mummies :) Oh, I wish I knew how to do a screencap and then I'd show you her Sim Guy :)

So tomorrow is beach and aquarium. We are swapping houses with my parents - dad is going to be tiling our hallway and downstairs bathroom for us so they are comign here and we are going there (to avoid small people trampling over newly-set tile cement!) Hopefully should be around at somew point in the evening though.

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 21:57

O to the M to the G, how could I forget to tell you?! We watched the extras on Spooks 9 tonight and there is one bit - well, Lucas fans, you HAVE to watch. I will see if I can find it online but I've not seen it before. The segment called 'The Downfall Of Lucas North' starts with him turning to stare at you VERY hard. Man, oh man.

OP posts:
PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 22:02

Oh, er, well that was easy - I found it straightaway!

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 29/05/2011 22:11

Yes I have watched it a few times on the DVD Twigs! The downfall not xmen, although I have seen xmen many times too Grin.

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 22:17

If I hadn't been watching with DrTwigs I would've gone pause, rewind, pause, rewind, pause, rewind... :)

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 22:26

Did you see 6.12 in that clip? Read the subtitles Grin!
