Of course, I am violently allergic to cats...

The only picture we have of the Dean is not overly flattering but in my head he looks a little more like this

Come in, enjoy, help yourself to Twiglets.
Yours sincerely, a Fair Trespasser.

Hello all. You did have fun with those photos last night. Understandandable, they have just blown my mind, which is quite a feat considering the chaos that reigns at Massive Mansions.

Had relatives land on us out of the blue for a couple of days, and Mr M is sickening for something. So a fun time all round. A shot of the Man's armpit was just what I needed Grin

TheSmallPrint · 28/05/2011 17:42

It's a sad day when a shot of an armpit keeps us going. Grin

Poor you with the rellies, hope they don't stay too long.

Now must go and slap on the war paint get myself ready for the nights frivolities. Feel free to fill up the thread with lovely images for me to review in the morning Wink.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/05/2011 20:50

::Peeks nervously round the door::

We are a house of lurgy here too. Had to think of you lot earlier when we were watching So You Think You Can Dance an earnest documentary about traditional Andalusian dance forms, and the first two songs I heard were Fix You and Supermassive Black Hole.

Last night's photos were alright, I suppose, but I have seen better.

Hello Maud - welcome back! That pic of Mr T is rather delish. I watched the first two episodes of N & S last night, and as much as I enjoy ogling my usual boys a bit of 'less is more' went down a treat I must admit.

Hope you're not too lurgy-ish!

PasstheTwiglets · 28/05/2011 21:58

Hiya Maud, good to see you! (you too, Mr T - yowsers!) Sorry you are lurgified - are all 3 of you suffering? MissTwigs was sobbing earlier because she felt 'ill', though I suspect she's just over tired.

Has anybody here been to the Museum of Childhood?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 28/05/2011 22:01

Haven't been but I presume you've checked out their website which is fantastic for activities etc.

PasstheTwiglets · 28/05/2011 22:05

We're going to London either Mon or Tues but fancy doing something we haven't done before. The reviews are great but the website makes it seem like there is lots in glass cases to look at but my two prefer interactive stuff. Seem to be a fair few activites on though. I quite fancy the Tate Modern but I suspect the kids wouldn't enjoy it.

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 28/05/2011 22:07

The Tate Modern is good for interactive stuff if they like that kind of thing.

I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the art - am really in to Pop Art but a lot of it was surrealism and dada which I don't mind but I was expecting it to be a lot more colourful ans it very definitely wasn't!

PasstheTwiglets · 28/05/2011 22:13

I am an utter Philistine but I don't really do modern art - apologies for the sweeping generalisation. But one of my happiest memories, as awful as this sounds, is me and DrTwigs at the Guggenheim Museum in Venice, taking the piss out of the art there Blush , making up poncy titles and so on. We got told off for pretending to admire a fire extinguisher and treating it as one of the exhibits :o I did actually love some of the works there but most of it was just a bit... daft.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/05/2011 22:16

Museum of Childhood is fab (went there a few years ago) but there is quite a lot of admiring displays of things you can't actually touch, as best I can remember. Tate Modern is very cool, but can be manic in school holidays.

::Lightbulb::

Try to fit in a visit to Coram's Fields, which is quite near the British Museum.

DumSpiroSpero · 28/05/2011 22:18

I just like really colourful stuff and quite like abstract paintings that you can interpret in your own way. One of H's friends does installations and on the rare occasions he goes along to see them he always comes home totally bemused!

Old fashioned landscapes (Constable type stuff etc) leaves me absolutely cold. I can appreciate the technical ability but that sort of thing just doesn't make me feel anything.

PasstheTwiglets · 28/05/2011 22:20

Oh Coram's Fields looks fabulous! Have never been there before...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/05/2011 22:25

My favourite type of painting is portraits, but I am fascinated by this, because it is so simple and yet so expressive.

PasstheTwiglets · 28/05/2011 22:28

I used to hvae a print of that in my bathroom, Maud! because it matched the colour of the walls

Have yo uall seen Graphic Of The Day?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 28/05/2011 22:32

I did really enjoy the National Portrait Gallery when I went there a few years ago, Maud, which I must admit surprised me a bit, although they did have an exhibition of cartoon style portraits on at the time!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/05/2011 22:37

Ahem, that's a slightly different genre of work of art, Twiggy.

PasstheTwiglets · 28/05/2011 22:42

But it is Modern Maud, it is modern...

Je suis off to bed now. Night all!

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 28/05/2011 22:44

I'm off for a bit more Mr Thornton (sorry Maud - I will try to restrain my racier thoughts for the likes of naughty JP!)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/05/2011 22:54

Bloke is watching Kill Bill so I am heading off to bed with a good book.

Good night, both. And, Spiro, behave yourself with my Mr Thornton.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/05/2011 08:17

Good morning Ladies!

Hope all the lurgies are abating, the littlies are well, and that Small is not in need of a emoticon.

TheSmallPrint · 29/05/2011 08:50

Morning!

Spiro that was a lovely one to wake up to Smile. No need for painkillers as I was driving but I am shattered. Two late nights plus early starts do me no favours I must say. And I am now skint.

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 08:53

And good morning to you, Sir! That reminds me that I never did find a midnight blue shirt for DrTwigs.

Grrr, I should be asleep for at least another 2 hours yet, as it's my turn for a lie-in, but I have been awake since 8am, trying to decide what to do over these next 2 days when DrTwigs is on leave and it is driving me CRAZY. Current idea is Tower Of London. Not that interesting for TwigBoy but then he'll probably just enjoy going on the train and having a big space to run around in. And MissTwigs has just finished a topic on the Tudors so migh tbe nice to have a visit there whilst it's fresh in her mind, as if we wait until we go in August it will no doubt all be forgotten Hmm.

Maud, did you ever finish Captain Wentworth, for want of a better expression? :)

OP posts:
PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 08:55

Oh that's a shame that you had to drive, Smallio :( Mind you, did I imagine that you said you don't really drink anymore these days?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/05/2011 10:12

Oh yes. Mr Wentworth is a splendid chap, although still only an also-ran in the cravat-wearing department.

PasstheTwiglets · 29/05/2011 10:41

I don't think that department can really be topped, can it?! Funny but y'know I used to detest cravats before N&S :)

Tower of London is booked so that's one day sorted.
