Of course, I am violently allergic to cats...

The only picture we have of the Dean is not overly flattering but in my head he looks a little more like this

Come in, enjoy, help yourself to Twiglets.
Yours sincerely, a Fair Trespasser.

Ouch to all concerned! This almost calls for a Fix You vid -- if I were that cruel.

I am feeling a bit under the weather myself - either a headache brewing or I have caught the Superboys's lurgy, so I shall say goodnight now in advance, just in case I collapse later and don't get the chance. I don't want you thinking I've been abducted by aliens.

PasstheTwiglets · 23/05/2011 21:03

Small, I quite agree about the paracetamol! They offered me that after the C-sections - I don't even bother with paracetgamol for a headache!

Uh-oh, Massive - fingers crossed that it's not the lurgy! Hope you feel better soon.

Oh Massive I hope they haven't spread their lurgy to you - you know they won't lift a finger to ease you. Sad

Twigs I had a bit of a phobia when i got pregnant, having a midwife in the family means you hear all the horror stories and it terrified me, I wanted a CS and they treated me seriously but I kind of changed my mind about 3/4 of the way through. Don't know why.

DumSpiroSpero · 23/05/2011 21:13

How are the Superboys, Massive? Hope they're not being too demanding if you're under the weather yourself.

It was not fun, Twigs, I was 13 days overdue and my waters had gone 3 days before so it was drip induction. Took a few hours to kick in but when it did...OMG! H tried to get the had & air tube off me as 'you're not supposed to use it in between contractions' to which I screamed replied "there is no f*?@ing in between!" They did let me have an Epidural after 11 hrs even though I was only 2 cm - thank God - and the eventual CS was brilliant!

In the highly unlikely event that ihad another is definitely go for an elective CS.

SupermassiveLBD · 23/05/2011 21:19

The Superboys are off school worse luck, was hoping to send them in tomorrow, but they are still not right. Mr M will be at home so at least he'll be on hand to thump them remonstrate if I have indeed got the lurgy and they are a bit too noisy.

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:19

Spiro, just be grateful they didn't use the f**@ing gel on your cervix - several times and with lots of tries becasue they can't 'find' your cervix!! [confused}

Hee hee I love a bit shared labour horror, so glad those days are over!!!!

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:21

I have to say though, going through that and then having surgery is a pretty rubbish deal - elective all the way in future missy Wink

DumSpiroSpero · 23/05/2011 21:32

in future? Shock

I love DD more than anything but you must be bloody joking!

Wooft at 'can't find' your cervix - it ain't exactly spaghetti junction up there (one hopes Grin!

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:37

Not sure it's in a great state up there tbh!! Grin

Anyone watching Glee? they are doing that awful Friday song. very funny Grin

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:41

OMG Spiro, that person needs to calm down with the zoom. Shock

DumSpiroSpero · 23/05/2011 21:44

I've just realised on reviewing that the site is not aimed at a female audience - still what's sauce for the gander...Grin

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:48

I did wonder at some of the posters photos... hahaha well that makes more sense. Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 23/05/2011 21:52

I was hoping to find something tasteful that we haven't seen before but then I came across that and well, my good intentions faltered.

this is nice, even if he has got company

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:54

OMG my eyes my eyes

BessiesGrand · 23/05/2011 21:54

I listened to Venetia for the first time this week, so I was irresistably drawn to this thread. Oh, that voice.

Sorry to hear some are not feeling well. Here's something to cheer you up:

husky voice: let me kiss that and make it better

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:56

Hello Bessie, isn't Venetia wonderful, especially with that melting voice .

Many thanks for your gift but I will need to play it tomorrow as I am in company.

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 21:58

I may need to listen to venetia again now. Have you listened to any of the others?

DumSpiroSpero · 23/05/2011 21:59

Ahhh - can't watch that link on mobile Jessie!

BessiesGrand · 23/05/2011 22:02

Oh, yes, Venetia set me on a tear. I listened to The Convenient Marriage and Sylvester. Liked Sylvester best of those two, but Venetia was definitely the high point.

I had also listened to Clarissa before, and my feminist self is ashamed to say that I found Lovelace tres sexy.

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 22:02

Oooh very nice Spiro, much better than the previous 'offering' from you

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 22:04

I like TCM but Horry annoyed me. Clarrisa was a favourite among many of the academics here too Bessie Wink

TheSmallPrint · 23/05/2011 22:06

Right off to bed ladies, see you in the morrow.

DumSpiroSpero · 23/05/2011 22:11

I think Lovelace had that effect on most of us against our better judgements! Have you read any of the rather saucy fanfic based on him?

Venetia is probably my favourite of the Heyers. Although the last 90 seconds or so of TCM are tres thudworthy as is the bit at the beginning of Lords of the North where he reads in old English.

This is also really beautiful
