I rather like the guyliner, though i hope he removes it properly at night before he goes to bed or I would not care to launder his pillowcases.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/03/2011 23:59

Oh sorry, crossed posts. A warm good night to you from me and from him and thanks for all tonight's merriment. Night night anyone else who's still up!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/03/2011 00:06

::Tiptoes back in with a to unwrap in the morning::

Even I had a little wibble.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 07:11

Morning all. Got meetings today so will not be around too much. Thanks for your lovely gift Maud despite the terrible music Grin.

TheSmallPrint · 04/03/2011 11:14

See it's busy in here. Back from first meeting which went well. I am sure you were all dying to know that. Off to take DS2 swimming in a minute and then another meeting this afternoon which I suspect will not go quite as well. Never mind, it's Friday.

DS1s parties this weekend so Sunday you will not see sight nor sound of me.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 12:22

It's your DS1's birthday isn't it? What are you up to - traditional party or something more modern?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 04/03/2011 12:57

Hello buay ladies. I have a big day tomorrow but hopefulls will be done by evening.

Thank you Maud for the little peek at JP. I am really looking forward to his visit. Maybe then he can sort out some of the Islanders who have been giving me grief just recently.

Off now to buy some Quickies eye make-up remover pads Grin

Incidentally, have any of you ever been so tired that you'vd tried to take off your eye shadow with nail polish remover pads?

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 14:49

Can put off the school run no longer. In the meantime

some Dwarvish gossip from Sir Ian

TheSmallPrint · 04/03/2011 19:09

Evening ladies. Well this last meetingwas better than expected and may lead to another very nice project - fingers crossed please.

Yes DS1s birthday so school friends party in the morning at the local sports centre then the mob family over here in the afternoon. He is looking forward to it, I am not.

Good news alert, Australia arrived today, me and DH are watching tonight

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 19:32

Glad your meeting went well and that Mr Jackman has turned up to keep you amused this evening!

Are your son & his mates doing some kind of activity or have you just hired a room? I always love the organising of dd's parties but dread actually dealing with the random children on the day.

One or 2 of the girls she invited last year were real pitas!

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 04/03/2011 20:04

It's a football party, they organise the whole thing including the food and party bags - much easier than doing it yourself. There's always a few pitas at any party usually a parent . Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 04/03/2011 20:19

Hello, ladies. Oooh, hair and braids and jewellery.
Was that middle word a Middle Earth typo for beards? How exciting though.

Small may I echo Spiro's words about the meeting and Mr Jackman? And hope the party isn't too full of poisonous types. The Superboys scorn parties nowadays they'd rather go out with their mates and have more money for expensive but nasty electronic trash-- a few well-chosen objects of their desire. It makes a lot less work for me, though.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 20:26

Oooh, hair and braids and jewellery.

I know, Massive - I'm fancying Mr Oakenshield already - there really is no hope for me.

Party sounds good, Small. I always think I'm saving money by doing a party at home but I'm sure I end up spending twice as much cos I'm a bit anal about themes & coordinating everything. Will put some pics on profile so you can see what a sad case I am in the baking department too!

I take it you also have visitors tomorrow, Massive? I am off for my art workshop - should be quite an experience Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 04/03/2011 20:37

Oooh, hair and braids and jewellery

As long as it's not medallions or thick gold chains.

In a way I wish it was visitors, Spiro, we're having the carpets shampooed. The visitors are next week. I can't wait!
Not.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 20:37

Right - have put some more pics on - including one of a package that turned up at work the other day and made me giggle!

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 04/03/2011 20:37

We've done our fair share of those parties and you're right they are just as expensive! All I have to bring is a cake which I bought Grin the family one will be harder work.

Quick update on Australia-

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 20:39

Ew, carpet shampooing is a bit of a performance. Will you have to be there overseeing or can you let them get on with it?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 04/03/2011 20:47

You can never let an Islander ''get on'' with things, Spiro. Or they don't, iyswim.
I know it's the wrong time of year but with the guests coming and all that, it seemed worth the extra bother.

Love the pics especially the special delivery from Kevin and Perry. Are little girls really as charming and pink and sparkly-fun as they look?

Glad Australia is making the grade, Small. The photo of him in the beard and hat was very promising, I must say.

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 20:59

Little girls...pink, sparkly little madams with a penchant for answering back little treasures!

DD is fab, just a bit too grown up for my liking at times. Probably my fault for not nipping Disney Channel & Nickelodeon in the bud.

I am now following Thorin Oaken on Twitter, thanks to a tip off from Gizzy Grin!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 04/03/2011 21:06

I saw Thorin in the recommended list the other day but didn't succumb to temptation. Are you following Gizzy? I haven't been able to bring myself to beg, so far.
I am finding it a bit confusing that there seem to be two Lucas Norths as well as a Lucas South.
Twitter is very complicated for technophobes like moi.
There is a thread elsewhere on MN which seems to be about how to use Twitter, but I can't understand it. [grim]

TheSmallPrint · 04/03/2011 21:06

Wow Spiro, you really can makes cakes!! Envy

SupermassiveLBD · 04/03/2011 21:06

or even Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 04/03/2011 21:10

Barbie is v. easy. Sponge in pudding basin. Turn upside down, stick legless doll in top and drape roll-out icing artistically round it before sprinkling with glitter.

The fairy biscuits were a bit of a bugger though - bloody wings kept falling off!
