Would you like a glass of Chateau Gizzy?

So which one is sexiest for you, then, Spiro?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 20:59

Ah, but he's a mummy's boy only (I think) because he is acutely aware that following the shame of his father's suicide, the responsibility for restoring the family's fortune and social standing all falls on him. And with no pensions or social security, he has no choice but to provide for his mother.

Anyway, for some of us, Mr Thornton remains the embodiment of masculinity. And what a body.

The teacup was going to be so useful, when discussing the thrilling thrill that is Mr Thornton!

That was a rather Guy-esque scowl from Mr Thornton in that pic, Spiro! I really liked this one, he looks gorgeous here:

even his little foot is cute :)

PassTheTwiglets · 15/02/2011 21:07

I do think that Mr Thornton is sexy (still haven't read the book so just based on TV) but not in the same way that JP or Lucey-babes are. They are sexy in a 'you, horse, NOW!" way, but Mr Thornton is sexy in a romantic way. That kiss - I've seen nothing more wibblesome in my life.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 21:07

What is he holding in your pic, Twigs? It almost looks as if Mr Thornton has been to the Milton branch of Starbucks for a latte.
And is that a twiglet in his other hand???

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 21:09

Look at the eye contact here!

Please tell me that isn't a fag in Mr Thornton's right hand in Twiggy's picture - even with the zoom function I can't make up my mind.

::nervous::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 21:11

What, this kiss, Twiggy?

::gratuitous::

DumSpiroSpero · 15/02/2011 21:12

Grin at cute foot, Twigs. That is a nice one. I think one of the things I really like about RA as opposed to the characters he plays is that he seems so normal and it's nice to see that in (unintrusive) pics.

Forced to call it, I would have to say John Porter tough, sexy but not without a tender side. Lucas (good Lucas) would be a very close second, and possibly would have come in first had we seen more character development of the man behind the spy, but obviously that's not really how Spooks works.

DumSpiroSpero · 15/02/2011 21:17

I don't think it's a cigarette, Massive, although that was my first impression too. It looks too big (Camberwell Carrot?).

I must admit although I've never been a smoker & don't like cigarettes, I have no major objection to a man who likes the occasional cigar.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 21:20

I think I am going to have to get Strike Back in the not too distant future, given Spiro's accolade.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 21:22

Hmm. I have seen references to the (alleged on the interweb) fact that he is a smoker. It doesn't look like a fag but nor does it look like anything else. ::Snort:: at Camberwell Carrot.

::Pulls her I am not angry I am disappointed face::

PassTheTwiglets · 15/02/2011 21:26

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Massive, take it back, take it back!!! Must... delete... image... quick!!! If you enlarge it you can clearly see that he is smoking and if there's one thing that utterly, utterly grosses me out it's that (apologies to any smokers here).

Well, that's me finished then :(

DumSpiroSpero · 15/02/2011 21:29

John Porter has quite a naughty sense of humour too, Massive.

Where have you seen the smoking references then, Maud?

DumSpiroSpero · 15/02/2011 21:31

Twigs, it was 7 years ago. Given how fit he's had to be for the roles he's taken on over the last few years I'd be amazed if he was still a regular smoker.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 21:32

It's a cigarette. I don't know if he still smokes, though. I've never seen any other pictures of him smoking.

Imagine though...smoky kiss...would that put you off...?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 21:33

Twiggy - This might be the final, clinching argument in favour of concentrating on the character(s) rather than The Man. If Mr Armitage chooses to contaminate his lungs then that is his prerogative ::pulls disappointed face again:: but I don't recall Mr Thornton ever indulging in the dreaded weed. Why did you bring that photo to our attention, especially now that Massive has introduced us to the zoom function?

Oh, anyone who wants a giggle should look at ReelMolesworth's tweets about the Brits.

SupermassiveLBD · 15/02/2011 21:35

Fear not Twigs, a quick and unworthy snoop tells me he has since given it up!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/02/2011 21:38

It was a while ago, Spiro, and I can't remember precisely, but it must have been on a link from one of these threads because, apart from pictures, I never do independent research. So probably on one of the forums.

As for smoky kisses, Phoenix, then my answer has always been - in the best MN tradition - .

::Remembers when The Poet had a cigar after a very luxurious dinner and reeked of it for a week::

DumSpiroSpero · 15/02/2011 21:39

Imagine though...smoky kiss...would that put you off...?

Er, no! In fact I'm hugely Blush to admit it, but I do slightly find it a little bit of a turn on rather than off.

I know, I know...that is really wrong on.so many levels, but I can only think it appeals to my deep-seated and unfulfilled rebellious streak (and a little fantasy daydream I was having the other day...)

I love those pink costumes, Phoenix. They would really suit the faculty members, I am sure

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 15/02/2011 21:53

That's exactly what I was thinking Massive, but who would jump out of the cake...?
