Oh, my post appears to have gone astray Confused. Maud, if you are interested this is interesting. Maybe.

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:19

He does have very cute twiglets doesn't he.

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:21

Ah, you may not be able to get into that link. Oops, anyway it says only 11% of qualified archs are female. currently theres abut 30% female at university but there is a massive drop out rate before qualifying.

Small, That's interesting and appalling in equal measure. There goes my preconception of the profession as full of caring, sharing liberal types.

PassTheTwiglets · 14/02/2011 14:31

Though of course an apple a day keeps the doctor away and we wouldn't want that now, would we?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/02/2011 14:41

I did see the article, Small. I used to work in a testosterone-fuelled environment too. None of my women friends are still there.

Right. One more Valentine's thing and then I'm off for a bit.

::warbles::

Who broke my heart?
You did, you did
Bow to the target,
Blame cupid, cupid

Shoot that poison arrow to my heart.

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:41

Caring and sharing as long as you're a man Wink, to be fair, I have only been subject to very low level discrimination since being qualified, nothing that would make me take up arms. I progressed very quickly and had no real problems with pay or promotion - except when on mat leave when everyone got a pay rise except me. I found out and at the next review when they said no-one was getting a pay rise I let loose and suddenly got one plus back pay for the previous six months Grin. I guess you just have to be a bit gobby outspoken sometimes.

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:42

oooooooooh, I like that photo Maud!!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/02/2011 14:42

Assertive is the word, Small. ::wink::

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:43

So it appears the lank hair is done with extensions of some sort then

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/02/2011 14:45

Yes, 'tis vaaair nice. It's got everything - tousled hair, stubble nearly at the level of a beard, muscly arms and the whole man of action thang.

::I need to sit down::

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:48

I need another look just to check you listed everything correctly...

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:49

ahh you missed The Tongue

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/02/2011 14:50

There's also Jonas Armstrong and Will Thingummy in the background if you like that pretty boy schtick. Oh, and there's ::pause:: gloves.

SupermassiveLBD · 14/02/2011 14:52

Just lost a long post and I don't know why, grr. I was only rambling anyway, about the supermarket run and my joy at actually being able to buy some underwear in my size --which isn't all that unconventional, just that they never seem to have any left between 10 -year-old-girl skinny and extra elephantine.

How exciting, planning all these Disneyland outings. My nephew is off to the Florida one, soon, and I wish I was going along so I could pop into Kennedy for a nose around. I tell myself it would be too warm for me and I wouldn't like all the mozzies.

Our uni dept was about 50/50, as regards the ratio of sexes, but our men were not all that macho, they were too interested in wheedling our lecture notes out of us so they wouldn't actually have to attend. So they treated us reasonably well. If we wanted men , we had to go hunting at the tech.

Useless info dept: NZ is thirteen hours ahead of GMT

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:52

oh yes, the gloves

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/02/2011 14:52

So I did. There's also what looks like a high voltage electricity line. No further comment necessary.

Right. Really signing off now.

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 14:56

See you later Maud, I should go and do some work too.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 14/02/2011 15:02

Our uni ratio was about 10:1 But then again I did engineering which is a traditionally male type of thing, though no need to be...

OMG! Maud, I think that must be one of the sexiest pics we've had (or maybe I'm just a bit strange).

As for NZ time - I have it programmed into my phone (along with the Wellington weather forecast) Blush

SupermassiveLBD · 14/02/2011 15:02

I am beginning to feel victimised here, another post down the drain. I was just saying I love the sexy Cupid photo very much, in fact a bit too much for my sanity, especially as I have to do some work and wobbly knees won't help a bit.

MrsLucasNorth · 14/02/2011 15:04

BTW I really must change my nickname but don't know what to. If anyone's got any suggestions you can PM me - ta!

I think we had about 15 women & 3 blokes on my Journalism course.

SupermassiveLBD · 14/02/2011 15:05

I think that must be one of the sexiest pics we've had (or maybe I'm just a bit strange).

That makes two of us, then, MrsLN Grin

MrsLucasNorth · 14/02/2011 15:06

Did you see this one?

TheSmallPrint · 14/02/2011 15:12

Yes, saw that and all the others ! Grin No Mrs LN, it is an extremely nice, unposed photo which displays everything we lust over all his best attributes.
