Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

::Hugs Twiggy to her ample bosom::

Has anyone cracked open the Chateauneuf de Gizzy tonight?

::desperate::

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 09/02/2011 20:37

bounds. Evening! What have I missed?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 20:48

Well, Phoenix, many things and not least the opening of the Chateauneuf de Gizzy. Fancy a glass?

I really am not sure how that "bounds" got there...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 09/02/2011 20:50

Oh yes please - fill 'er up!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 20:53

::proffers very large glass of Chateauneuf de Gizzy::

What's new in Phoenixworld tonight? Oh, and what did you mean much earlier today about his niceness? Massive and I were speculating about whether you meant character/personality/innermost soul or physiognomy?

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 20:57

I actually have a rather fine Shiraz on the go - not sure which is more delicious, the Shiraz or Sgt Porter. Actually, it's pretty easy to choose a winner

Just finished the first episode of Strike Back and thoroughly enjoyed Sgt. Twiglets, though I did have to fast forward through some of the more disturbing parts.

Now for a quick catch-up on bits I missed earlier (though the moment has no doubt passed on all of these by now!)

That video. Oh my. The Mr Thornton kiss makes my stomach physically lurch every time, as mentioned before but that aside, I think the loveliest moment wasn't actually a kiss, but when he tightens his hands around Dawn French's back. About 48" in... lovely.

Smalll, you said I am very envy of Twigs dreaming about The Man even with the bad handwriting. I wouldn't be, honey - it was more frustrating than anything! I've been out of sorts all day, since that!. There was a Very Tall Man at the school this morning (even in a Lucas-style jacket) and it caught my breath to imagine it was someone else. Talk about "here's what you could've won.." :) OH, I did work out what the orange stone was from - I'd forgotten that DD gets one of those rip-off expensive weekly magazine collections; hers is about Rocks & Minerals and it comes with a free rock or gemstone each week. I was thinking of stopping it so it obviously comes from the guilt of that!

As for Monsieur Gizzy, I don't liek the sniffing either, though I like the bored arrogance that it conveys. The sniffing reminds me of disgusting footballers blowing the contents of their nose onto the pitch

what episode is the Meg one that you were talking about, LBD?

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 20:59

I mean a glass of wine, obviously.
I am agog to hear Phoenix's clarification on the subject of niceness.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 21:00

Dr Freud, paging Supermassive!! You so did not mean the glass of wine :O

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 21:01

For Twiggy and me

Something mouthwatering to go with the wine

::thoroughly intoxicated::

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 21:02

Um. Meg must be RH3.9. Bored arrogance is fine by me too, Twigs.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 21:05
SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 21:05

Twigs, well, let's face it, I am never going to get any of that so I'd better just go with the vino.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 21:07

That's lurch with a small L, not Lurch with a capital L

Supermassive, ah, DD and I have just started S2 of RH so we have a while to go then.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 21:10

Ah, there you are Massive.

Has anyone been watching Outcasts? In that the person formerly known as Ros has a gizmo for seeing people's memories on a screen. I have been using that to .

GardenGirl has just been spying over my shoulder. As Ye Gappe Tee-Shirtte came off, she remarked "huh, I can see why you like that". She later suggested, though, that said Tee-Shirtte was in fact a thermal vest.

Anyone know of a residential convent for the pre-teens?

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 21:12

I seem to jump about between seasons 1, 2, and 3. Twigs. Two is on the telly and I started looking at series 1 but was a bit curious about 3 and went on with that for a bit.

I tell a lie about getting any Gizzy, I did have a very boring dream about him. A whole once!

PassTheTwiglets · 09/02/2011 21:17

LOL at "I can see why you like that", Maud!

Not watching Outcasts, no...

Right, going to try and fit in a bit more Porter before DH returns. Just quickly though, did any of you watch Extras? The episode where Ross Kemp talks about the SAS and says he knows what the initials stand for has always been one of my fave Funny Things but Strike Back makes me think of it even more.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 21:19

MAUD!!! really, As if my mind would entertain such unworthy imaginings. Or at least not quite so many times in the space of five minutes. In closeup.

Shock at Miss Maud, goodness, a chip off the old block there and no mistake.

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 21:21

Sending Dr Freud right back at you Twigs, Just look again at what you've written about Porter. Ha!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 21:24

She has a uncompromising attitude to romance, Twiggy, considering it all ridiculous and somewhat gross.

I didn't watch much of Extras because RG makes my teeth itch, but that was priceless!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 09/02/2011 21:29

Talking of Outcasts, did anyone else notice that the young blonde girl in it was none other that John Porter's daughter, Lexie...

(at least I think it was)

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 09/02/2011 21:31

I fear I may have aroused everyone's curiosity unwittingly regarding him being so "nice". It was merely a casual interjection, expressed in a moment of weakness, and I was, if anything, referring to the complete package, not just appearance, but the whole kit-and-caboodle...looks, personality, acting abilities, career choices, you name it...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/02/2011 21:32

I heard someone else say that (or was it you earlier, Phoenix?) but as I haven't seen SB I wouldn't have recognised her. It all gets very six degrees of separation, doesn't it?

SupermassiveLBD · 09/02/2011 21:35
TheSmallPrint · 09/02/2011 21:36

I've been watching outcasts Maud, I think Ros' brain scan doobry could get a lot of people in trouble should it ever become a commercial sucess!
