Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

::Picks prawn vol au vent from the cold buffet selection, while downing a large glass of Chateau Gizzy::

Hic! Nice to be back!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 21:29

::Scoffs cheese and pineapple on a stick::

::clinks glasses::

Cheers!

Oh, cheese and pineapple on a stick, my favourite! Have we got any of those little gherkins?

This is a classy party, you know. The cheese and pineapple are stuck into a potato covered in silver foil, to resemble a hedgehog. We have iced gem biscuits.

::Sends Dixon to the pantry to look for gherkins::

A potato?

One always used a half grapefruit.

I hope you didn't forget the little cocktail sausages...

Glad to see we have something classier to drink than tepid Lambrusco.

MrsLucasNorth · 30/01/2011 22:06

Prawn vol-au-vents - yum! Although it never occurs to me to actually make them when we do have a gathering in RL!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 22:08

::Hides the Irn-Bru and Panda Pops behind the crate of Chateau Gizzy::

Has anyone unpacked the crate from the Department of Art History yet? We have

the Michelangelo

a fine example of a medieval triptych

one of Botticelli's lesser-known works

and, oh - how did this get into the crate? -

the front cover of the Tattoo Artists' Monthly Journal (Jan 2011).

Well to me follows the honour of posting the first vid.
Which is one of quite a few ones, surprisingly enough. You will of course never guess who they have used as Uthred. Wink

Lovely artwork as always, Techno. Have we got them insured?

TheSmallPrint · 30/01/2011 22:20

Ooh another party!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 22:22

Falls, I meant, not follows.
LOL at the Tatt Artists' Journal, it loaded by very slow degrees from the top, very, cough, effective.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 22:24

Evenin', Small! Isn't the new building great?

MrsLucasNorth · 30/01/2011 22:36

Must go to bed now, but first...

Sweet dreams!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 22:36

Wow. It had never crossed my mind that there would be Uthred vids, what with there being no actual visuals an' all. Lovely equestrianism there, as ever.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 22:39

Oh, MrsLM, THANKS!!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 22:40

I mean LN. sorry Blush

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 30/01/2011 22:44

Lovely Botticelli !!! ::runs for cold shower::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 22:45

Crikey. So much pleather. I feel the need for .

Must head for bed now. Good night all and sweet dreams.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 22:45

Funny that Uthred sits his horse like a prince, too., eh, Techno. I had to chuckle when he hove into view through the mists.

I have saved MrsLN's Guy vid for later otherwise I shall be all of a doo-dah and not be able to talk to you all

Like the earth in Kublai Khan , I'm still breathing in fast thick pants, after the first few secs.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 22:48

Night night, Techno. Sweet Milton dreams of cravats, and china teacups a-tremble in the saucer.

I'll carry on with the leather.
It was NOT pleather.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 30/01/2011 22:51

Night Techno!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 22:51

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.

OP posts:
LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 22:53

::Looks back at you::

I adopt an existentialist position here - if I experience it as pleather, it is pleather. To me.

::Tootles off to bed::

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 30/01/2011 23:02

The River Alf and the thick pants were oft a source of innocent ribaldry in our Eng Lit classes. Well we had to do something to spice up the boredom?

Techno, why do you shun the thought of the leather, eh?

Do you fear to embrace the concept and stick to your floppy white shirts? You are missing out!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 30/01/2011 23:10

I welcome the leather! I embrace the leather!

I'm now being followed on Twitter by @Lucas_South...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 30/01/2011 23:11

::Looks back again::

I don't shun the leather at all. I am married to a biker, remember? But there is something about Guy's jacket in series 1 that does look suspiciously like it's been made from the PVC of a Wimpy bar banquette, circa 1975. So even if it did once grace the back of a cow, that's what it looks like to me.

I freely admit that I am not immune to the charms of our (p)leather-clad anti-hero, as my fondness for the Botticelli and the recently-discovered work of Burne-Jones testifies. But my sartorial preference will always be for a floppy white shirt and, on that note, I have another Victorian gentleman waiting for me upstairs.

A demain.
